Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: The Resonance of the Holy Sword

After receiving the test results from Jarvis, Tony couldn't let it go for a long time, but he had to admit that this was a source of energy that could save his life without any pollution. This was exactly the new element he needed, but at the thought that he hadn't invented it himself, Tony felt a surge of annoyance. He kept feeling like some 'old geezer' who had been 'dead' for many years was mocking him with a smile. It was like seeing a ghost.

"Damn it!"

Muttering under his breath, Tony had Jarvis begin analyzing this new element. Even if a delicious-looking chicken leg was placed in front of him, his innate caution told him there was something wrong with it. It would be better if he created it himself because you never know what someone might have put into something of unknown origin.

"It looks like I'll need a particle device."

The analysis came out quickly. Through a 3D model, Tony soon discovered the prototype of this thing and how it could be created, but he was still very confused. Who on earth was trying to help him?

"Looking at you, it's hard to imagine how you've survived."

While Artoria and Tony were both busy, Obadiah Stane contacted his little partners in the Ten Rings once again. These guys were all big spenders. He had used the price of providing weapons for free once to have these guys do him a small favor, which was to kill Tony. He hadn't expected Tony to actually return. This time, he was here to settle the score. Carrying a little gadget invented in the lab in his arms, he walked into the tent with full confidence.

He hadn't expected the scene he saw to almost make him scream. The guy in front of him was too ugly, with severe burns over seventy percent of his body. Seeing him at night was like seeing a ghost. However, having held a high position for many years, he quickly recovered. Calmly looking at this guy who almost made him vomit up his dinner from the night before, Obadiah hesitated for a moment, sat down, and spoke.

"You don't need to worry about that. I want Tony Stark's life. In exchange, you need to give me a hundred Iron Man Suits."

The burn scars on his face mixed with that fierce expression, making the man look like a demon crawling out of hell. Nodding, a subordinate took out a folder. On sheets of yellowish paper, various patterns were drawn. The clever Obadiah stacked all the papers together and held them under the light. A fierce, full-coverage set of iron armor appeared before him, making his eyes light up.

"You were injured like this by this thing!"

Obadiah smilingly pulled a thumb-sized object from his pocket and brought it close to the leader's assistant. Soon, the assistant collapsed.

"This is a good thing, but I don't think you'll be needing it much longer."

Gently patting the leader's head, amidst his resentful gaze, Obadiah pulled out a pocket pistol. In the next moment, the leader's head blossomed.

"Clean it up. As for the rest, we're leaving!"

"Yes!"

Outside the tent, Obadiah's bodyguards had already killed all the men. He had given the order before entering the tent that none of these guys could be left alive. He didn't want anyone with intentions to trace his actions.

"What's wrong, Artoria?"

"Nothing, I just keep feeling like something is about to happen. Let's continue the experiment!"

The 'antenna' on her head had been shaking non-stop. Artoria kept feeling like something was about to happen, but it didn't seem like anything major. She didn't know that while she was merging the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, the Holy Sword guarded by an old man had been vibrating incessantly. This greatly troubled the old man, but he had no other way.

"I have it!"

Due to some special reasons, he couldn't leave at all, but there was a way to let the Holy Sword 'find' its Master on its own—by finding a temporary person to take it there. However, this person had to be carefully chosen. After all, this Holy Sword had a recognition function. If the original owner, King Arthur, no longer existed, that would be fine, as it could find a new Master. But the Holy Sword seemed to have already found a new Master for itself. It could be the reincarnation of King Arthur, or perhaps someone like King Arthur had appeared.

Since coming to this place independent of other spaces, his methods for viewing the future had completely failed. He was basically out of sync with other worlds. But there was still a way to leave this place temporarily, though the time would be extremely short. Otherwise, he would have gone to find the Holy Sword's new Master himself.

"It must be a person of noble character. He must have a heart of benevolence, a fearless spirit, and a brave personality."

"You need a hero to take you to find your Master."

These were the words the old man spoke to the Holy Sword. As if agreeing with the old man's statement, the Holy Sword emitted a pleasant sound and then ceased any unusual movements. Only the magnificent light on its body symbolized its extraordinary nature.
