Chapter 17 - **Never Offer Me a Drink Again

The engine hummed steadily beneath them.

VROOMMM—

Ren frowned. "Why am I sitting here?"

He was sitting on the back seat, holding the side awkwardly.

Lucia smiled brightly, sarcasm dripping from her tone. "Because I know how good your driving is."

Ren smiled back. "Aw, thanks for that. But I'm not that good."

She thought with an irritated expression, That wasn't a compliment, you—

She cleared her throat. "Just please avoid big or mutated zombies… whatever those are. Avoid them."

"Of course I will," he said with hollow words and an equally hollow smile.

She thought, He's definitely planning to do exactly that.

Ren, meanwhile, was thinking with bright excitement, Like hell I'll avoid them. After confirming that killing mutated zombies gives achievements…

The wind rushed past them.

WHOOSHHH—

I can earn rewards through achievements. Increase my strength, agility, everything…

The bike sped forward.

VRRRRMMMM—

This is the best—and currently the only—way for me to grow powerful.

He sighed internally with sarcasm. After all, my damn skill is useless when it comes to physical stuff.

---

Thirty minutes later on the road—

The bike rolled smoothly across open land.

VROOOM—

Ren enjoyed the scenery: open grounds, beautiful fields… and scattered corpses lying here and there like abandoned scarecrows.

He suddenly spotted something.

An old bar stood near the roadside.

"Oh… a bar?" Ren muttered. "But who built it in a barren place like this?"

Lucia stiffened. "Did… you… just say… a bar?"

"Yeah. See? There." He pointed.

She abruptly twisted the handle and drifted the bike sideways.

SKRRRREEECH!

The bike stopped hard.

THUD!

Ren panicked. "Now that's what I'm talking about!"

Lucia turned toward him, eyes sparkling with excitement and happiness. "Let's go drink!"

Ren stared blankly. "What?"

"Didn't you hear? I said let's drink!" she said, licking her lips playfully.

"Really?"

"Yes, really!" she replied excitedly.

"I don't like drinking," he said flatly.

"Oh, don't act like a baby. What do you want? Some milk, little wittle?" she teased.

Ren tilted his head with an innocent expression and a calm tone. "I really don't mind if you feed me yours and specially with those big boobies of yours—"

She blushed deeply, covering her chest with both hands. "You perv—!"

Ren smirked. "That's not going to work. Especially since they're too big, yah just too big to cover with just your hands."

She flushed harder, almost teary. "How can you be so heartless?!"

He shrugged with a casual grin. "I like them the way they are. So no need to stress about what I like."

"You should've thought about that before calling me a baby," he teased. "Whatever. Let's go."

---

They entered the bar.

DING—

The welcoming bell rang.

The place looked gloomy, dim light flickering overhead.

BUZZZZ—

"Anybody home?" Ren called out.

Lucia hugged her arms. "This is a bit creepy."

"You're the one who wanted to come here," he replied.

"Isn't anybody here?"

Ren looked around, expression flat. "Looks like I found the owner."

"Where?" she asked curiously.

He pointed toward the corner.

She followed his finger—

—and froze.

A headless man in a bartender's outfit leaned against the wall. Blood dripped from his neck, pooling beneath him.

DRIP…

DRIP…

Beside him, a zombie crouched, tearing into flesh.

CRUNCH…

TEAR…

The zombie slowly turned its gaze toward them.

GGRRRRR…

Ren blinked with mild surprise, then boredom. "It's just a damn zombie."

The zombie itself looked momentarily confused by his reaction.

Lucia snapped, "Yeah! Right! Just a zombie… for you!"

Ren placed one hand on her shoulder with a bright smile.

She thought immediately, Wait… I know this gesture. Nothing good ever comes from it.

Her worried smile trembled.

Ren calmly handed his sword to her.

She said with a worried tone, "Let me guess… you want me to kill it?"

Ren looked at her with mild surprise. "Oh? When did you become so smart?"

She replied with slight irritation, "I was always smart, but you—"

She exhaled and calmed herself. "Fine… at least explain why."

Ren looked at her seriously. "Let me ask you something. How many zombies have you killed after getting your skill?"

He paused briefly.

"Let me answer. Zero."

Silence filled the room.

"If you're not going to kill zombies, how are you supposed to grow stronger?" he continued. "And if you don't grow stronger…"

His expression turned cold. Terrifying.

"You'll eventually become dead weight to me."

The air felt heavier.

"You don't want that, right?"

Lucia tightened her grip and grabbed the short sword.

SHING—

Ren nodded. "Good."

The zombie, unable to tolerate its own confusion any longer, suddenly screamed and rushed toward them.

GRAAAARRRHHH—

Ren said casually. "What a noisy piece of rotten meat."

The zombie charged straight ahead.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Lucia instinctively aimed the short sword forward with both hands.

At the last second—

STAB!

The zombie was too stupid to stop. Its own momentum drove its head straight through the blade.

SPLURT—

Its body twitched violently before going limp.

Lucia stood frozen, still holding the sword as the corpse hung there for a moment… then slowly slid down.

THUD…

She was trembling a bit.

Ren thought, Looks like she still hasn't gotten the hang of it.

He smiled brightly.

"Let's drink."

She blinked—

"Huh?"

He kept the smile, trying to cheer her up.

She looked at him for a second.

Then—

"Yeah… let's drink!"

She said it with excitement.

The overhead light flickered.

BUZZZ—

---

Ren was sitting on the table, one leg hanging lazily.

Lucia walked back from behind the counter.

Step… Step…

She came forward with an excited face.

"Look what I found."

She placed a sleek ceramic bottle on the counter.

Tap—

"Hwayo 53[1]°. I didn't expect to find something like this here. Hehehe."

Ren raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? Looks like we've got an alcoholic lover here."

"Don't be so mean," she said, pretending to be offended.

She placed a glass of orange juice in front of him.

Clink—

"See? I got something for you too, since you said you don't like drinking."

Ren scratched his cheek with an awkward smile.

"It's not that I don't like it. Just—"

She sat beside him.

She opened the bottle.

CLACK—

The faint scent of strong alcohol spread into the air.

She poured slowly.

Pour—

Clear liquid filled the small glass.

"It's going to be fun," she said softly, pouring a little more for herself.

She placed a plate on the table too.

Thud—

Bright red sauce coated the squid pieces.

Ssssss—

"Ojingeo Bokkeum[2]," she said proudly.

Ren glanced at the plate, then at the bottle beside it.

"…Looks like you got both the drink and the snacks."

She smiled smugly.

"You bet."

She leaned slightly closer, teasing in her tone.

"I was lucky enough to find premium liquor and snacks."

She lifted her glass.

"So unlucky for you that you don't drink. Hehe."

Ren frowned slightly.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever."

He grabbed his orange juice and took a sip.

Gulp—

Ren stared at the bright red squid for a second.

Then—

Without thinking—

He grabbed a huge handful of the spicy pieces and shoved them straight into his mouth.

Stuff—

Chew. Chew. Chew.

Gulp—

Lucia froze.

"…What are you eating?"

She looked closer.

Her eyes widened.

"Wait— that's—"

Ren blinked.

"What?"

And then—

It hit.

A violent surge of spiciness exploded across his tongue.

BOOM—

His eyes widened instantly.

"Spicy—! Spicy! What the hell is this?!"

Lucia finished his sentence calmly.

"Very spicy."

His face turned red.

Sweat formed instantly on his forehead.

He grabbed the orange juice.

Gulp— Gulp— Gulp—

Empty.

He slammed the glass down.

Thud—

"…It did nothing!"

"Wait! I'll get water!" Lucia said, already half-standing.

But Ren's eyes locked onto the nearest glass on the table.

Without hesitation—

He grabbed it.

Gulp—

Lucia turned back just in time.

Her face fell.

"That's—"

She looked like she was about to cry.

"…My Hwayo 53°."

He blinked.

"What…?"

His vision swayed slightly.

"…What did you just say?"

He pressed a hand to his forehead.

"Why is my head… heavy…?"

Lucia stared at the empty glass in horror.

"Why did you have to drink mine…?" she said with a trembling, almost tearful look.

"Who stuffs Ojingeo Bokkeum into their mouth like that without thinking?!"

Ren frowned deeply.

"What are you scolding me for…?"

Hic—

"How dare you…"

Lucia's eyes widened.

Is he drunk?

No… he can't be drunk that fast…

Her expression slowly shifted.

Don't tell me… he has low alcohol tolerance.

Ren suddenly stood up.

The chair scraped loudly.

SKRRR—

He walked toward her unsteadily.

Step…

Step…

She instinctively stepped back.

"Ren… I'm sorry, okay? So calm down."

He stopped right in front of her.

His eyes were unfocused.

"Who are you telling to calm down…you busty bitch?"

Hic—

His face was flushed red.

She swallowed.

He staggered slightly.

"Just who… do you think you are…?"

Hic—

His gaze dropped.

Slowly.

Very slowly.

And stopped.

Lucia stiffened.

He stared openly at her chest.

"…Oh."

He blinked lazily.

"Well would you look at that…"

He pointed vaguely.

"Looks like you've got a whole pair of mountains there."

Hic—

Lucia's face turned bright red.

"W-What are you staring at?!"

Ren tilted his head, completely unashamed.

"I'm just observing nature."

He leaned a little closer.

"Very… impressive terrain."

She covered herself quickly.

"You drunk idiot!"

He squinted at her.

"Don't hide them… they were minding their own business…"

Hic—

He squinted at her.

"Just let me… play with those mountains…"

Hic—

Lucia's eyes widened.

"Ren, you're drunk. You need to calm down."

He frowned immediately.

"Who exactly is drunk… huh?"

Hic—

He tried to grope her big boobs but—

But his foot slipped.

"Wai—"

His balance gave out.

THUD!

They both crashed onto the floor.

Ren fell right on top of her.

Lucia winced.

"Ow—! That hurt!"

The impact knocked the air out of her.

"Oof—!"

Ren blinked slowly, still hovering over her, dazed.

"…The floor attacked me."

Hic—

Lucia groaned.

"You're the one who attacked me!"

And there they were.

On the cold bar floor.

Ren on top.

Lucia trapped beneath him.

Her face burning red.

His expression completely drunk and unfocused.

"…You're heavy," she muttered.

Ren blinked lazily.

"…You're soft."

Hic—

Lucia froze.

"…Get off."

He suddenly looked at her seriously.

"What… do you hate me?"

Hic—

"And if so just tell me, i will never lay a finger on you from now on"

Lucia froze beneath him.

Her cheeks burned bright red.

"N-No! It's not like that but—"

He leaned slightly closer, eyes unfocused yet intense.

Hic—

"Ok then…"

His voice dropped lower.

"You don't mind if I do this?"

He tore her top, leaving her bra exposed.

He said, "Wow, your bra is so sexy, but it's getting in my way. Are you trying to seduce me?"

She said, "It's not like that—"

W-Wait… why do I suddenly feel like I'm the guilty one here? she thought, panicking internally.

He then opened her bra, revealing her body.

His hand move towards her boobs fondling them gently all over.

A soft moan escaped her lips as his hand brushed over her chest.

Mmm…

She froze, cheeks burning.

He cupped them gently, tilting his head with a curious smirk.

"These are really too soft and big… what do you eat to grow them like this?"

She pushed him back lightly, cheeks burning.

"Stop asking questions, you idiot!"

He leaned over her, hiccuping, fingers fumbling at her waistband.

"Can't resist… can I? Hic…"

With a careless tug, he started pulling it down, grin spreading across his flushed, drunken face.

He hiccuped, grinning.

"Woh… even your panties are sexy."

He pulled down her panties, reveling her beautiful erotic pussy.

She gasped, "Just… what do you think you're doing?!"

He didn't answer. Instead, he slid two fingers into her pussy, slick with juices from her pussy.

Squish… squelch…

Her chest heaved, body trembling.

Mmm… ngh…

Squish… squelch… squish…

He hiccuped

" I… am… enjoying… my… favorite toy… hic…"

A message popped up.

He squinted at it, hiccuping slightly.

"Just… fuck off. Can't you see I'm… attending… to my favorite toy… hic…"
