Pushing open the Greenhouse door, Sean felt his heart rate surely quicken.
What if Professor Sprout wasn't there?
What if the Professor had already finished dealing with the venomous snake fangs?
What if... The thought flashed through his mind but was immediately dismissed by Sean,
because he saw the plump Professor diligently working.
"Professor Sprout."
Sean jogged over, his voice wavering.
"Welcome, Mr. Green,"
Professor Sprout greeted Sean kindly,
"Come with me, today we have special materials to process."
Sean's jog turned into a run, as if Professor Sprout might disappear in a blink.
The plump Witch let out an "Oh" and pushed aside the vines above Sean's head.
Professor Sprout walked briskly ahead,
leading Sean through the familiar area of puff-pod plants.
"The dear puff-pods are about to mature. When the pink pods get a bit bigger, the shiny beans will jump out.
We need to harvest them before they jump out, otherwise the Greenhouse will be full of puff-pod flowers."
The Professor pinched a pod, speaking with the joy of a good harvest.
"Mr. Green, would you like to help pick them?"
Sean gave a firm "Hmm," and the two Wizards, one large and one small, arrived at an oak table.
Various snake fangs were laid out on it.
"Every year around this time I help process some materials... Ah, look at these snake fangs, so sturdy. Mr. Green, do you know their differences?"
Professor Sprout waved her wand, and several snake fangs floated in front of Sean.
They were sharp and keen, glinting coldly, and indeed seemed to have some differences.
"Venomous snake fangs have small grooves inside," Sean said after carefully observing the fangs for a while.
"Absolutely correct,"
Professor Sprout was a little surprised,
"Keen observation."
After she spoke, a mortar and pestle flew into Sean's hand.
"Try grinding it, Mr. Green."
Sean didn't hesitate; grinding wasn't a troublesome task,
especially since the pestle in his hand seemed to possess some magic.
Sean guessed it was some kind of Shredding Charm, which made his progress very fast.
Professor Sprout watched Sean grind earnestly, then with a wave of her wand,
ten mortars and pestles on the table all began to move.
"For a Wiggenweld Potion, we need to grind it a bit finer, but for Murtlap Essence, this size is just about right."
As Professor Sprout finished speaking,
Sean stopped grinding; he had already completed processing ten portions of material.
It shouldn't be too slow,
Sean thought,
and then he saw the ten mortars moving together.
Hmm, Wizards are still too comprehensive.
Sean didn't pay much attention, instead focusing on remembering the grinding state of the snake fangs at this moment, and carefully observing the difference between the powder of venomous and non-venomous snake fangs.
Regrettably, he couldn't find any.
"Oh, Mr. Green."
Professor Sprout saw his eyes almost touching the powder and laughed, her hat askew.
She waved her wand again, and the powders were placed into different colored glass bottles.
The glass bottles for venomous snake fangs were light red, while the non-venomous ones were white.
Sean suddenly understood.
"The angle of the sunflower tells me it's time for you to go, Mr. Green."
Professor Sprout gestured goodbye with her five fingers tapping back and forth.
Sean then realized an hour and a half had passed.
He quickly said goodbye to the Professor, only quietly asking:
"Professor, can I come this afternoon?"
"Of course, the Greenhouse welcomes every child who loves nature."
So Sean pushed open the Greenhouse door.
In the afternoon, Ravenclaw would have their first Transfiguration Class with Gryffindor.
He didn't want to be turned into a pocket watch or a map or something, so he quickened his pace.
Incidentally, he opened his panel:
[Herbology Knowledge: Unlocked (59 / 90)]
[Apprentice-level Herbology Knowledge, can unlock the Apprentice-level title in Herbology]
Processing snake fangs indeed couldn't be counted as herbology,
Sean continued to look down.
[Levitation Charm: Apprentice-level (4 / 300)]
[Scouring Charm: Apprentice-level (70 / 300)]
[Lumos Charm: Beginner-level (19 / 900)]
The Lumos Charm had already reached the beginner level.
Sean lit his wand; it was much brighter than at the apprentice level,
and it was cast faster and more easily.
As for making it as bright as it was in the classroom before, he would have to build up his emotions,
but it might not succeed.
In fact, Sean had tried it in the classroom, but he could no longer produce such a bright light.
The Transfiguration classroom was on the second floor of the Castle, not far from Professor McGonagall's office.
Entering the classroom, what met his eyes was a not-so-long brown wooden table, behind which were chairs from the Plantagenet dynasty.
They were antiques,
Hogwarts is really rich,
Sean thought.
Then he saw Michael looking conflicted, with a black-haired girl sitting beside him.
At this moment, he was struggling with whether or not to sit with Sean.
Sean shook his head and sat next to Hermione; there was also a cage beside her, containing squeaking mice.
And even though it was a two-person desk, the seat beside her was always empty.
"Sean, did you see the Tabby Cat on the desk? She's so cute."
Sean looked up; a silver-grey Tabby Cat sat gracefully on the desk.
"Mm."
Sean nodded.
As the two spoke, they heard a "creak" from behind.
It turned out to be Harry and Ron; they rushed in, pushing open the door frantically, bursting into the classroom.
By now, they were three minutes late.
Hermione looked back, then pursed her lips and shook her head.
"We made it! If we were late, Professor McGonagall's face would surely scare us to death."
Ron said thankfully.
Watching the two still not sit down, Sean knew they couldn't escape.
The Tabby Cat leaped up and transformed into a tall Witch.
She wore deep green robes and was tilting her head, gazing at Ron who was speaking.
Ron's eyes widened, his lips pressed together, his expression probably saying:
"Harry, do you think we'll survive?"
"That's truly amazing."
Ron tried to bluff his way through.
"Thank you for your assessment, Mr. Weasley.
Perhaps I should turn you and Mr. Potter into a pocket watch.
That way at least one of you would be on time?"
"We got lost."
"Then turn into a map. Surely you don't need a map to find your own seats, do you?"
Low chuckles immediately rippled through the classroom.
"Gryffindor, two points deducted."
Professor McGonagall added.
Sean saw Hermione once again speechless, glancing at Harry and Ron.
Gryffindor lives up to its name,
Sean thought.
"Transfiguration is the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts."
Professor McGonagall said sternly,
"Anyone who misbehaves in my class will be asked to leave and never allowed back in. I have warned you."
After Professor McGonagall finished speaking, she waved her wand,
and the desk in front of her turned into a pig, walking around the classroom, then changed back.
The Young Wizards' eyes lit up, eager to start learning immediately.
