"Wh-what—!?" Seleyena tripped over her own feet, her sensible heels clicking sharply against the floor as she barely managed to steady herself. Her trembling fingers darted up to fix the clasp of her clipboard. Flustered as she was, her mind scrambled, desperately hoping she had misheard him. Yet, the deep timber of his request still echoed clearly in her ears.
Her brain simply refused to process it.
'What a woman,' Cruxius mused, deeply amused by her frantic reaction. She looked endearingly silly trying to play it off, pushing up her thick, black-framed spectacles with slender, trembling fingers.
Her lips, painted a striking shade of red, parted slightly in disbelief, standing out gorgeously against her flushed, milky-white skin.
