Chapter 39 - Defeating the Viper Gang

Finally, the day they met Saya and her team came again, but this time the team Saya brought was quite different.

Because this time, when they met again, Akira and Saeko could clearly see that the team accompanying Saya and Mr. Takagi this time was the main team of their group.

This was based on the familiar faces Akira had seen before.

When he was still with the Takagi family.

Moreover, when he saw their equipment, which consisted of 80% firearms with only about 20% bladed weapons remaining, they were also equipped with bows and arrows and long swords.

This made Akira quite impressed by their display.

Especially considering the number of people, which was almost 50.

Akira now had a vague suspicion in his heart.

Saya and his team went to the port area yesterday, they likely made a very valuable discovery, and among those valuable discoveries was firearm package attached.

"Hello, Uncle. It's so nice to see you again," Akira greeted Mr. Takagi with a friendly smile.

"Hello, Akira, Saeko. It's also nice to see you both again.

Thank you very much for your help, and I truly owe you both a huge debt of gratitude.

For the protection you provided during the ambush some time ago." Mr. Takagi looked very pleased and expressed his happiness by thanking them both.

About what they had done some time ago."l

"You're welcome, Uncle, That's what we should do as friends, so don't feel too bad," he finally replied politely.

Saeko and Saya, on the other hand, began our own conversation. Akira, observing them didn't want to interrupt their unique moment.

From the cheerful and happy expressions on their faces, it seemed like their relationship was going very well.

In this case, of course, they didn't want to disrupt the good time.

Until after a while, and after they had chatted enough, they began discussing a concrete plan for eliminating the Viper Gang.

They had now been categorized as their main enemy in the city.

"From the surveillance conducted by our members over the past few days,

It is known that there are at least 60 to 70 Viper gang members at their headquarters.

And of that number, it is indicated that at least 20 to 30 of them possess firearms.

The rest mostly carry a mix of weapons, with sharp weapons being their primary weapon.

In addition to these members, there are also around 200 to 300 civilians who appear to be held hostage or forced to stay inside their headquarters.

We learned this from an investigation by one of our teams who managed to rescue several people who fortunately escaped from their headquarters.

It was only later, through interrogation and further information gathering, that it was discovered that.

The Viper gang is essentially led by a former member of a criminal gang in the city.

Their leader is named Ogura, who according to descriptions from several survivors, is known to have a cruel and ruthless nature.

Ogura is known to rule these civilians with a fairly authoritarian and iron-fisted hand.

Ogura was very clever in his strategy to force the civilians to hand over their supplies and valuables.

It was also known that Ogura only targeted those who still had family or civilians with deep ties to members they knew.

Using the Hostage method as a guarantee of the survival of their family members and those closest to the civilians, Ogura forced the civilians to search for supplies and bring them back to their base in exchange for security to stay within the base.

In this case, all of this was merely a cover-up by Ogura and his gang, to blackmail and enslave the civilians to work and gather resources for them.

The captured civilians forced to remain in their base had no choice but to resist due to the cunning hostage-taking scheme devised by Ogura and his team.

"Well, basically, we're faced with a rather complicated situation.

We'll likely encounter civilians sheltering and living within Ogura's base if we launch an open attack on him and his team.

This is based on the fact that Ogura will undoubtedly use these civilians as human shields to protect their own safety.

And if that actually happens, it's something we can't rule out.

At this point, is there a feasible solution?" After completing the report on the information gathered by his team members,

Mr. Takagi, having finished his speech, then looked at Akira and Saeko.

They were currently partners they would be working with.

Saeko also listened to Mr. Takagi's entire explanation.

The two then had a quiet discussion. After listening to the information, they naturally had to respond positively, and in this case, a meaningful discussion ensued.

After some discussion, they finally reached an agreement.

"I think we can use the plan you mentioned earlier, dear," Saeko said to Akira.

"Which plan?" Akira asked Saeko again, as they had previously agreed on several plans to implement in the event of an unexpected situation like this.

And of the many plans they had developed, there was surely one that they could implement after listening to Mr. Takagi's explanation.

"Your plan is related to the dark fog," Saeko replied, reminding Akira of the plan they had discussed.

"Oh… that foggy plan, um… it's very feasible, and with a few modifications, it should be feasible," Akira then spoke softly to Saeko.

"Uncle, we have a plan called the foggy plan, which involves using a dark fog to attack the Viper Gang headquarters. As for where this plan came from.

I'll explain it in detail here!" Then, he finally began explaining his dark fog plan to Mr. Takagi and the others.

After finally explaining his entire plan, Mr. Takagi and the others expressed unanimous agreement.

Regarding the plan Akira had outlined, they said, "That's a good plan," Akira said, and everyone agreed. We just need to discuss the details of its implementation further. "Mr. Takagi then expressed his agreement.
