The next day, Bela sat alone in her house with a cup of coffee resting between her hands.
The television played quietly in the background, though she wasn't paying attention to it. Most of her focus stayed on the empty chair across from her as if she were waiting for someone to appear there at any moment.
Eventually—
someone did.
A woman in a fitted black dress appeared in the room without warning, like she had simply stepped out from the shadows themselves. Her smile looked pleasant on the surface, but the moment her eyes flashed black, the illusion vanished completely.
A demon.
And the one who held Bela's contract.
"Well," the demon said smoothly while sitting down across from her, "this is becoming a habit." She crossed one leg over the other casually. "Did you call me here to beg for more time again?"
Bela stayed calm outwardly, taking another sip of coffee before setting the cup down carefully.
"Yes," she said. "But this time I have leverage."
That made the demon smile wider.
"Leverage?" she repeated with amusement. "Bela, sweetheart, what exactly could a pathetic little human possibly offer me?" Her black eyes studied her lazily. "Besides your soul, there's very little about you worth caring about."
Bela didn't react to the insult.
"Actually," she replied calmly, "I have something demons would tear each other apart over."
The demon leaned back slightly, entertained now more than anything else. "Oh, this should be good," she said. "What sort of scam are you trying to sell me? Because trust me, darling, I was manipulating people before your bloodline learned how to crawl."
Bela's expression didn't change.
"Henry Winchester," she said.
The smile vanished from the demon's face so quickly it almost looked unnatural.
For the first time since appearing, the demon went completely still.
"…What?" she asked quietly.
"Yes," Bela said calmly. "The same Winchester all of you demons have been desperately trying to kill." She leaned back slightly against the sofa. "From what I hear, he's becoming quite the problem for Hell."
The demon's expression had completely changed now.
The amusement was gone.
"You know," the demon said slowly, voice suddenly colder, "I could rip your contract apart right now and drag your soul downstairs myself for wasting my time."
Bela's heartbeat slammed harder in her chest, but outwardly she stayed composed.
"Go ahead," she replied evenly. "Because I have something that can kill him. One hundred percent."
The room went silent.
The demon stared at her carefully now, trying to figure out whether she was bluffing or insane.
"You…" the demon muttered, almost disbelieving. "You think you understand what he is?" Her eyes darkened fully black again. "That thing is a fucking monster."
"Yes," Bela said quietly. "I know he's dangerous."
She paused briefly before continuing.
"I spent time around him," she said. "Very closely."
The demon narrowed her eyes immediately.
"And during that," Bela added carefully, "I found out something important about him."
The demon leaned forward slightly now, interest finally overpowering suspicion.
Then her expression shifted into something flatter.
"…So you slept with him?" she asked bluntly.
Bela looked genuinely offended. "Must you reduce everything to sex?"
"Yeah, because sex is usually the only reason humans get close enough to learn something useful," the demon said mockingly. "Otherwise how the hell would you even discover a weakness?"
Bela rolled her eyes slightly despite the tension. "Well, whatever the reason," she replied smoothly, "I know he has one. So do you want the information or not?"
The demon's eyes narrowed.
"And in exchange," she said slowly, "you want out of your contract."
"Yes."
The demon gave a cold laugh at that. "It doesn't work that easily anymore. Hell contracts are under Lilith's control now." Her expression darkened slightly. "Even if you actually know something valuable, getting your contract erased isn't simple."
"I can give you something else," the demon said. "Protection. No torture. Different treatment downstairs."
"Then no deal," Bela said flatly.
The demon moved instantly.
One second she was across the room—
the next her hand was around Bela's throat.
Bela gasped sharply as the demon slammed her back into the couch.
"You stupid bitch," the demon hissed, black eyes burning now. "Do you seriously think you're in a position to negotiate with me?"
Bela's fear spiked hard enough to make her hands shake slightly, but she forced herself to keep talking.
"Yeah," she choked out. "I fucking do."
The demon tightened her grip.
Bela forced herself to smile anyway. "Because," she rasped, "Henry's in the other room sleeping." Her voice dropped lower. "One scream from me and he wakes up."
For the first time—
the demon hesitated.
"And then," Bela continued through the pressure on her throat, "he'll fucking skin you alive."
The demon clearly didn't believe her.
So with an irritated motion she shoved the nearby door open using her power—
And froze.
At the far end of the dim room, Henry really was there.
Fast asleep on the couch.
One arm hanging lazily off the side like he belonged there.
The demon immediately released Bela and took several steps backward without even thinking about it.
Fear.
Bela dropped forward coughing while rubbing her neck, noticing the reaction instantly.
"…Yeah," she muttered between breaths. "That's what I thought."
The demon kept staring toward the sleeping figure in the other room like she expected him to suddenly wake up and tear through the walls.
Bela slowly straightened herself again.
"So," she said while still rubbing her throat, "do you want to cooperate peacefully now?"
