Henry sat at Bobby's kitchen table with a beer bottle in his hand. After sleeping for nearly two weeks, the cold drink felt better than anything else.
Across from him, Dean, Sam, and Bobby were staring at him. The fact that he was no longer glowing like a blue lighthouse had done absolutely nothing to reduce their curiosity.
Dean leaned back in his chair and looked Henry up and down.
"So, are you fine? Because while you were unconscious, you were glowing like some kind of damn flashlight?"
"Well, I'm fine," Henry replied before finishing half the bottle in one go.
Sam studied him carefully.
"Okay, but how did you survive? We saw what happened back there. More importantly, how did you end up going from San Francisco to Los Angeles?"
Unlike Dean, Sam was focused on the details. Too many pieces were missing, and none of them had answers.
Henry scratched his cheek awkwardly.
"Hmm... the thing is..."
All three men immediately focused on him.
For several seconds, Henry appeared to be organizing his thoughts before finally speaking.
"I don't know."
Silence filled the kitchen.
"You don't know?" Dean repeated.
Henry pointed at himself with the beer bottle.
"I was asleep. The hell am I supposed to know? The last thing I remember is fighting Lilith. After that, nothing. I have no idea how I survived or how I ended up in Los Angeles."
Bobby narrowed his eyes.
"Boy, you're tellin' me you lost nearly two weeks and don't remember a damn thing?"
"That's exactly what I'm telling you."
Dean rubbed his face while Sam remained thoughtful. Neither of them liked the answer, but Henry wasn't acting like someone hiding information. If anything, he looked just as confused as they were.
Sam finally spoke again.
"Then do you remember anything at all? A dream, a vision, anything between the fight and waking up here?"
Henry considered the question seriously before shaking his head.
"Nothing. One moment I was fighting for my life. The next, I woke up in Bobby's house with Dean trying to punch me."
Dean pointed a finger at him.
"Which, by the way, was completely justified."
Bobby ignored both of them and pushed himself out of his chair.
"Whether you remember it or not, somethin' happened. People don't survive explosions like that, cross half the country, start glowin' blue, and then wake up two weeks later."
Henry took another drink before shrugging off.
"Considering how my life's been going lately, that sounds exactly like something that would happen."
"Then what is this bullshit about seals and Lucifer? How do you know that while you were asleep?" Dean asked.
Henry shrugged before taking another drink.
"Don't know. It just came into my head."
That answer immediately made Bobby narrow his eyes.
"Boy, you better start answerin' questions properly, because right now I'm about one step away from thinkin' you're somethin' wearin' Henry's skin."
Henry sighed and rubbed his forehead.
"Seriously?"
"Seriously."
Without another word, Henry raised his hand. Blue energy immediately gathered around his palm, bathing the kitchen in a familiar glow.
"Does this prove I'm not a shapeshifter or some other crap?"
Bobby remained unconvinced.
In response, Henry pointed his bottle toward Dean.
"Should I start recounting everything that's happened since I met you people? The trickster stuffing itching powder in my bag, getting tossed around like rag dolls, or maybe the sewer incident?"
Dean's expression darkened immediately.
"We're not talking about the sewer incident."
"We can."
"We're not."
Henry ignored him completely.
"Fine. Then maybe we can talk about how Dean treats the Impala like it's his girlfriend."
Dean nearly choked on his beer.
"That is not true."
Sam lowered his head, clearly trying not to laugh.
"He's got a point, Dean."
Dean turned toward him with a betrayed expression.
"Whose side are you on?"
"The correct one."
A grin immediately spread across Henry's face.
Dean and Sam exchanged a glance. Between the blue energy, the constant sarcasm, and Henry's ability to become annoying within minutes of waking up, it was pretty obvious nobody had stolen his identity.
Bobby snorted before shaking his head.
"Boy, the day nothin' strange is happenin' around you is the day I start gettin' worried."
Henry raised his bottle, but the reason he had survived wasn't a mystery to him. He kept silent. Explaining it was more trouble than it was worth.
When he unleashed Ether Burst at full power against Lilith, the attack had pushed his body far beyond its limits. By the end of the fight, he had been on the verge of death.
The only thing that saved him was the constant stream of system notifications.
Every demon that died during the battle had given him SP, and the total continued to rise until it finally crossed the requirement.
1000 SP.
The amount needed for the Angel Fragment.
Henry still remembered the moment it descended from the sky. The fragment had fallen like a streak of light before merging with him, and everything after that had gone dark.
Silently, he opened his status screen.
[Race : Hybrid (Half Human - Half Angel)]
Henry stared at the screen for several seconds before dismissing it.
Then he reached for his coat and frowned when he failed to find the familiar weight of his silver blade.
"Did you guys take my blade? The silver blade I always carry around?" Henry asked.
Dean nodded.
"Yeah. It's in some exhibition."
Henry froze.
"My blade is in an exhibition?"
"Yep."
A confused look spread across Henry's face.
"Why the hell is it doing there?"
