Adryn in bed at night in his room thinking the part he didn't told to Haru. He knows Haru can't handle this part...
13 years ago Kaito's Funeral....
Exorcists HQ Tokyo...
The rain had stopped.
For the first time since the night of the battle, the sky above the valley was quiet. Gray clouds drifted slowly across a pale morning sun that barely managed to break through.
The funeral was held on a hill outside the Tokyo Dpt. Only two were present his two allies more than that his friends. After a brief moment of the two friends others walked in too.
It overlooked a wide forest valley where the wind moved softly through tall grass. The place was quiet enough that the sound of the breeze could be heard brushing across the ground.
A simple wooden coffin rested at the center.
Kaito's sword had been placed on top of it.
The blade was cleaned, but the faint marks of the final battle still scratched along its steel.
Around the coffin stood a small group of people dressed in black uniforms.
Hunters (Exorcists).
Some stood silently with their heads lowered.
Others stared toward the horizon.
No one spoke.
Because everyone knew what Kaito had been.
A fighter who laughed in the face of danger.
A man who always stepped forward first.
And the one who never stepped back.
Akhiro stood near the front.
His hands were folded tightly behind his back as he stared at the coffin.
His eyes were red, though he had not cried.
He was trying not to.
The wind shifted slightly.
The tall grass moved like waves around the hill.
Then footsteps approached from behind.
Adryn walked forward slowly.
The others moved aside without saying anything.
He stopped beside the coffin.
For a long moment, he didn't move.
His eyes stayed fixed on the wooden lid.
Memories rushed through his mind.
Kaito laughing during missions.
Complaining about boring assignments.
Arguing over stupid things that never mattered.
And the last moment in the rain—
The root piercing through his chest.
Adryn's hands tightened slightly.
The anger was still there.
But now it was quieter.
Deeper.
Akhiro finally spoke softly.
"The ceremony can begin."
An older hunter stepped forward.
He read the formal words of farewell for fallen hunters.
But most of the speech was lost to the wind.
Because the people gathered already knew what those words meant.
When the speech ended, the coffin was lowered slowly into the ground.
The ropes creaked softly as the wood disappeared beneath the earth.
Akhiro stepped forward first.
He placed a small talisman into the grave.
"For safe passage," he whispered.
Then he stepped back.
Adryn remained where he was.
The others waited silently.
Finally—
He moved.
Adryn removed something from his coat.
It was a small metal charm.
An old mission token.
The three of them had received it during one of their earliest assignments together.
He stared at it for a moment.
Then dropped it into the grave.
It landed softly against the coffin below.
Adryn spoke quietly.
"…You always rushed ahead."
The wind moved across the hill again.
"You said someone had to keep things interesting."
He paused.
Then added in a lower voice.
"…Next time we meet, you can complain about it."
No one laughed.
Because everyone knew there would be no next time.
The grave was slowly filled with earth.
The sound of falling soil echoed softly across the hill.
When it was finished, a simple stone marker was placed at the head of the grave.
Kaito
Hunter Division
He Fought Without Fear
The group began leaving one by one.
But Adryn remained standing there.
Akhiro stayed beside him.
Neither of them spoke for a long time.
The sky slowly cleared as the morning grew brighter.
Finally, Adryn turned away from the grave.
His eyes looked calm again.
But Akhiro knew the truth.
The anger from Denjiyon Town had not disappeared.
It had simply become something colder.
Something patient.
As they walked down the hill, Adryn glanced once more at the grave behind them.
Then he spoke quietly.
"…I'll find it."
Akhiro didn't ask what he meant.
Because he already knew.
Somewhere beneath the world—
The Essence Devil still existed.
And someday—
Adryn would return to finish what began in Denjiyon Town.
The wind moved gently through the grass around Kaito's grave.
And for a moment—
The hill felt peaceful.
As if the storm had finally ended.
But far away—
Deep beneath the earth—
Something ancient continued to grow.
PRESENT DAY...
Adryn finally sheds some tears which he was holding back and looks outside his room overlooking the grave of Kaito, ( because Kaito's grace was there he took this room to overlook it ).
Adryn's tears were wiped by the strong wind towards Kaito's grace.
Adryn turns around to see Kaito's soul ( his imagination ) standing infront of him. He says to him you can't do it Adryn and laughs as he always. Putting a smile on Adryn's sad face.
Adryn went to sleep...
