Chapter 73 - Chapter 73

With the ocean god and the space god showing their stance, Nyx's last hope was shattered.

Under the combined siege of the Underworld gods, the former God-King Cronus, and the giants, her main body and two embodiments, bound by the 'Chains of Resolve', could finally hold no longer.

The light of Heimarmene's spindle of fate was completely extinguished; the spinning threads broke inch by inch, and she herself transformed into drifting mist and returned to Nyx.

Adrasteia's robe, symbolizing absolute law, scattered into countless points of light; her divine body became transparent, finally dissipating with a silent sigh and also returning to the main body.

The chains tightened sharply, firmly imprisoning Nyx's origin.

The madness, struggle, and majesty on Nyx's face were gone, leaving only infinite weariness and an almost resigned silence.

She looked at Hades, her dark eyes reflecting the Hades she had once placed great hopes in, but who was now her gravedigger.

"It's over, Nyx." Hades approached her, no pity in his violet eyes.

"Reincarnation must be stopped."

"The end... and then bring complete emptiness?" Nyx's voice was weak, but still held a last persistence.

At this moment—

"I'm afraid it won't be easy to destroy a primordial ancient god, my brother."

A voice with a thunderous aftereffect suddenly rang out.

The space of the Underworld was forcibly torn open by a rift, and the bright Olympian divine light and majestic oceanic aura penetrated this eternal darkness.

Zeus, holding the thunderbolt, his entire body shining with unprecedented sharpness, entered.

Behind him stood Poseidon, his face still silent but his eyes firm, and Koios, whose eyes flickered with calculation and fear.

Even more surprising was that two gods of the Underworld, Thanatos and Hypnos, also quietly followed Zeus, apparently having guided the path to this place.

"Zeus? Poseidon?" A flicker of wariness appeared in Metis's eyes, and she subconsciously stood before Hades and Catia.

Hecate and Perses immediately went on alert, and the giants let out low growls.

Hades did not look surprised; he calmly looked at Zeus: "It seems you've finally decided not to play the role of a reckless man who only knows how to fight for power."

The corner of Zeus's mouth curved into a complex arc. He first took a deep look at the bound Nyx, a barely perceptible flicker of panic in his eyes, then his gaze fell upon Hades.

"When I found this scythe from the depths of Gaia's temple, I understood that there was a responsibility I could not escape."

Zeus raised his hand, and in it appeared a gray phantom of a scythe with a simple form, radiating a soul-shaking aura—it was the god-killing scythe that had castrated Uranus and contained the power of division!

"The silence of the world, the depletion of new forces... I was not unaware, Hades." Zeus's tone became heavy.

"I was just waiting, waiting for an opportunity, waiting for... allies capable of confronting the root cause, allies worthy of my bet."

His gaze swept over Cronus, swept over the giants, and finally stopped at Hades.

"Fighting with you for the power of the Underworld? That's just the foolishness of certain beings. I knew you were investigating the truth; I knew Oceanus's despair; I knew the suffocating 'sanctuary' of the goddess Nyx." Zeus's voice held the catharsis of long-suppressed emotion.

"But I needed proof. I had to be sure that your actions were not aimed at replacing her as the new 'Moebius', but to break this damned cycle!"

He pointed at the phantom of the scythe: "This scythe can not only separate the reproductive rights of the God-King, but also... strip gods of their core authority! It was left by Uranus to the Mother Goddess Gaia before he was sealed, and finally given to me by the Mother Goddess... an ultimate insurance."

Poseidon spoke quietly, confirming Zeus's words: "In the depths of the ocean, we also sensed the decay at the roots. Oceanus's silence itself was the loudest alarm."

Koios's face changed; he had clearly been forcibly brought by Zeus and knew part of the truth. At this moment, looking at the scythe and the bound Nyx, his eyes were full of complex emotions, intertwined with fear and greed.

Zeus looked sharply at Hades: "Now, Hades, tell me your choice. Is it to use this scythe to strip Nyx of the authority of [Fate] and completely dismantle the foundations of reincarnation? Or... do you have a better plan? Once her core authority is stripped, she will not die, but the world's structure will be violently impacted, and might even accelerate the arrival of the end! Dare you take that risk?"

All eyes were fixed on Hades.

Maintain this desperate cycle, or risk breaking it and facing the unknown end?

Hades's gaze swept over everything. He saw the firm support in Metis's eyes, the resolve to break the cauldron in Zeus's eyes, and the eternal sorrow in Nyx's eyes.

"Reincarnation is a slow lingering death." Hades's voice was calm, but held undeniable power.

He turned to Zeus and extended his hand:

"Give me the scythe, Zeus."

The hall of Hades sank into deathly silence.

Zeus stared at Hades, the phantoms of the thunderbolt and the scythe flickering in his hands.

After a long time, a flash of resolve appeared in Zeus's eyes. He took a deep breath and slowly handed the gray, god-killing phantom to Hades.

"It's all up to you now." Zeus's voice was low and powerful, embodying the will of Olympus. At this moment, he forged an unprecedented alliance with Hades.

Hades took the scythe, which contained the power of division and reconfiguration. In an instant, he felt a cold yet powerful force surge into his body, strangely resonating with his authority of Hades.

He approached the bound Nyx, the blade of his scythe aimed at the core of her dark divine body.

Nyx closed her eyes, as if accepting the final judgment.
