"HahahahaahhHH!"
"Come back here!"
"Hehehehee! Dada!"
"No! No! No! Don't run over there!" Kylo shouted, his voice nearly hoarse and panting as he chased the child to get her dressed.
Vases shatter! "..... Ahh.." Kylo didn't know whether to be angry or cry as he listened to his antiques breaking one by one inside his house.
The hell being a Father! This is costing him so much money!
He calmed himself down and took a deep breath.
"CLAAAARRRRKKKKK!!!!!!" Kylo's voice echoed throughout the house as he called for Clark.
"Yes Boss!" he appeared in front of him and even saluted.
Kylo massaged his temples while still listening to the continuous sound of things breaking in his home.
"That child... Chase... Chase it or I'll fire you!!" he said, extremely irritated.
"Yes boss~!" he answered with a chuckle and pulled something out of his pocket.
"Kitty! ~" Clark called out, waving lollipops in his hand.
The rampaging child quickly looked over and ran fast toward Clark, wrapped only in a towel.
When the child approached Clark on her own, he picked her up and gave her the lollipop he was holding.
Kylo's jaw almost dropped.
A lollipop? It was that easy?
He counted the sounds of crashing he had heard, and he was sure almost seven had been broken in his house.
He just closed his eyes tightly, not knowing if he should cry over the intense regret for the antiques broken in his home.
Feeling weak, he turned around and walked away.
"Dada?" the child called out to him,
He stopped walking.
"Take care of her Clark," he said with his back turned and continued walking away.
After half an hour, Kylo was still leaning silently against a chair on the second-floor terrace.
He heard a noise by the side of the curtain, and when he looked over, he saw the child peeking out.
He massaged his forehead before looking at her again.
"What?" he asked the child, trying to hide his annoyance.
She stepped out from behind the curtain with both hands hidden behind her back. She was dressed now, and her face was clean.
'The child is surprisingly cute.'
No! He was supposed to be angry, so he wasn't allowed to say that.
He looked at the child's face, and she seemed to know she had done something wrong based on her expression.
He wasn't so childish as to stay furious at a kid. If she apologized, he would forgive her immediately; he wasn't that petty.
He ignored the child and just waited to see what she would do.
His eyes snapped back to the child when she brought her hands out from behind her back and handed him a lollipop.
"What's this?" he asked her seriously.
Her pout grew longer.
He didn't accept the offering immediately. He wanted her to know she had done something wrong—that's what he should do—but when he saw the child's sad face, his principles crumbled, and he took the lollipop. Only then did her face brighten up again.
He really wanted to punch himself for what he was doing.
( EVENING )
Clark stretched his body after putting the child to sleep.
Come to think of it, they didn't even know the child's name.
When he went downstairs, he immediately leaned his body against the soft sofa. He looked at his Boss, who was reading a magazine.
"So Boss, what's your plan for the kid?" Clark asked. Klien looked over at Kylo, waiting for his answer.
"Find that Brandon b*stard. Once you find him, make him pay his debt. I will hold his daughter hostage until he pays what he owes me," Kylo answered.
Clark and Klien exchanged glances.
"Come to think of it, we don't know the little girl's name," Clark said, looking at Kylo.
Klien and Clark signaled each other with their eyebrows when they saw how Kylo lost his focus on the magazine and fell into deep thought.
"We'll just give her a new one, problem solved," Kylo answered coolly.
"A new name?" Klien said, still signaling Clark while watching Kylo's every reaction.
"Yeah, a new name," Kylo said.
"What name?" Clark asked.
They caught how Kylo's brow furrowed as he fell silent.
Two days passed and they were busy with their daily work. The only thing that changed was that they kept catching Kylo spacing out, which puzzled their other companions.
Klien and Clark were secretly snickering.
They had left the child at Kylo's house under the care of Rin—the one dubbed the "soft-hearted bald guy" of their group.
He had many siblings in the orphanage before, so he knew how to take care of children. On the way home, Kylo was just staring blankly out the window, still silent.
"STOOOOPP!!!!!!!" Kylo suddenly shouted. Klien, Clark, and the driver almost slammed their faces forward at Kylo's sudden outburst.
"What's wrong?" Klien asked alertly, thinking an enemy might be attacking.
"Let's stop here for a minute," Kylo replied before stepping out of the car and walking into a...
"MALL?" Klien and Clark said in unison.
The two looked at each other, got out of the car, and followed their boss. After about 40 minutes, they were lined up at the counter with three shopping carts overflowing with toys, pillows, clothes, shoes, and children's food.
The two looked at each other, unable to believe what they were seeing as they stared at their boss.
Imagine a Mafia Boss in a black suit swiping his black card to pay for cute children's toys and everything.
Clark and Klien were trying their very best not to laugh, practically praying to just hang in there.
