Chapter 34: The White Dragon and Britain

Noah was somewhat curious about this Star Performer.

So was the simulated version of him.

Thus, [You became curious about the Star Performer mentioned by Vortigern]

[But Vortigern didn't know more details either. It only knew that such existences were called Star Performers before the Age of Gods, and they were particularly respected. They were even referred to by the Age of Gods as the most ancient poets. However, it didn't know more specifics, nor why the Star Performer was revered before the Age of Gods or why they attracted the attention of deities during the Age of Gods]

[Hearing this, you wondered why it would choose the Star Performer as its successor if it didn't know more details]

[Vortigern said it had no other choice]

[It originally wasn't the White Dragon itself. It claimed it was chosen and thus obtained this power, but not every human was qualified to receive this inheritance]

[When it first found this successor, it was because the other possessed the qualification to inherit this power, and only then did it discover that the other was the Star Performer]

[After learning the other was the Star Performer, it preserved the inheritance according to the Star Performer's talent to prevent Merlin from finding it]

[What it didn't expect was that while the inheritance indeed wasn't found by Merlin, the successor whom Merlin shouldn't have been able to find was discovered by Merlin. And now its successor had become King Arthur, responsible for dealing with it... So it had no way back and must succeed no matter what]

[From Vortigern's words, you learned about its situation and understood its thoughts and determination]

[You told it not to act hastily, to stabilize first, and said you would contact that Star Performer yourself. You also mentioned that if the other could truly communicate with everything, then you should be able to communicate with them, and perhaps a better solution could be found regarding the inevitable fate of destruction]

[Vortigern didn't doubt you at all and agreed directly]

[After waiting a few days and confirming Vortigern's attitude and your own power, you used your current power to teleport directly before Vortigern]

[Amid endless icy cold, the giant White Dragon looked at you]

[You thought you would need to display some power, but Vortigern recognized you immediately]

[It first thought you were the successor, then detected the clear presence of the island's power and the aura of the island's will that had contacted it last time on you]

[It didn't attack you directly but inquired about your stance]

[Then you, using the identity of the island's will, told Vortigern that there was no need to do anything before the inevitable fate of destruction arrived. Wait until everything comes, face it together, and overcome it]

[Vortigern wouldn't doubt the island, let alone question it]

[Since the island said so, it agreed. Then you arranged with it for Vortigern to continue existing, transforming itself into a knight always clad in full-body armor, staying by the Star Performer's side—that is, King Arthur—to prepare together before the inevitable fate of destruction arrives]

[Vortigern, believing this was the island's will, agreed]

[Then you utilized the island's power to extract Mary from Vortigern's dream, hid her on your side, and used her power to manifest a massive White Dragon incarnation here. Afterward, you returned to Britain with Mary and Vortigern... or rather, the nameless White Knight.]

[Later, you developed Alchemy technology, subjugated Pictavia and Hibernia, stabilized all of Britain through long-term development, defeated the White Dragon's incarnation at the opportune moment, and formally declared the end of Britain's shadow.]

[But in reality, Vortigern's incarnation had already become renowned as the White Knight by your side.]

[Scáthach also joined the Knights of the Round Table.]

[Under such developments, present-day Britain has become exceptionally prosperous.]

[Yet you knew even this wouldn't suffice to defeat that Titan, so while maintaining stable development, you showed no intention of campaigning against Rome. Instead, you had Mary devote efforts to searching for Manaka Sajyou.]

[But it failed.]

[Before Manaka Sajyou could be found, the Titan that destroyed Rome crossed the sea and directly arrived in Britain.]

[Before the inevitable fate of destruction arrived, the Titan brought ruin upon Britain.]

[You were no match for the Titan.]

[You died.]

...

Seeing this, Noah wasn't surprised at all. He originally planned to sort out the situation after selecting his rewards, but he didn't expect this simulation to continue beyond this point.

Noticing the simulation interface was still clickable, he clicked again.

Then this message popped up.

[Volume One, Complete]

[Completion Condition: Trigger all of Vortigern's storyline routes]

[Please name Volume One]

Seeing there was this additional feature after fully triggering Vortigern's storyline, Noah was momentarily stunned. After some thought, he assigned this title to the volume – White Dragon and Britain.

He initially considered naming it Red Dragon and White Dragon, but recalling Vortigern's ability to transform into the White Knight, he ultimately settled on this name.

After he finished naming it, the system's prompt displayed again.

[Volume One: White Dragon and Britain, Complete]

[After triggering volume-concluding objectives, the system will undergo a one-year update]

[Update details as follows:]

[Added storyline review function]

[Volume-concluding objectives advance to Volume Two]

[Simulation optional tags increased from three choices to four]

[Tag content becomes more diverse]

[Can bring one item obtained during simulation to reality (limited to one item per volume starting from Volume Two)]

[System functions unavailable during update period]

After this display appeared, Noah clearly saw a countdown lasting exactly one year, with today evidently excluded from this period.

Though the system's functions were temporarily unusable, the rewards from this simulation could still be claimed.

The temporary inability to simulate wasn't a major issue for Noah, as he already knew everything that would happen during this year. He'd been thinking that after extracting all intelligence about Vortigern, he could quickly accomplish what needed to be done in reality.

Now that Vortigern's side had been completely clarified, it was time to take action and fully prepare for the issues concerning Titan Altera.

So Noah quickly calmed his emotions, then reviewed the updated content once more. He noticed that the words "Volume 2" were clickable, so he clicked to take a look.

[Volume 2 (Untitled)]

[Completion Condition 1: Trigger all of Titan Altera's storylines]

[Completion Condition 2: Trigger all of ???'s storylines]

Noah wasn't surprised by the first condition at all. Just like Vortigern in Volume 1, the Titan Altera was clearly the final boss of Volume 2, so it made sense that completing the volume required triggering all her storylines.

But Completion Condition 2...

"Is it because I haven't encountered this target yet?"

Noah thought about this, then organized the currently known clues about Volume 2 in his mind. However, he still couldn't figure out who this character might be, so he decided to stop thinking about it for now.

First, he needed to claim this round's rewards.

Naturally, there was no other choice this time - Noah directly selected the [(Mythical) Will of Britain] trait.

After claiming the trait, he immediately felt a distinct drowsiness.

Clearly, this was just like the beginning of the previous simulation.

[Britain's Will, activated]
