Roldy had witnessed countless wonders across the seas and believed his journey had already been extraordinary.
But when he arrived in Totto Land—the territory of one of the Five Emperors, Big Mom Charlotte Linlin—he realized his imagination had still fallen short.
The ocean before him was not blue.
It was a sea of juice—countless varieties blending together in vibrant colors. Ships sailed atop it while fish leapt from the surface, glittering beautifully… and looking delicious.
As they drew closer to Whole Cake Island, the sweetness in the air grew heavier.
Sweetness brought comfort.
Even Roldy , who wasn't particularly fond of desserts, felt his mood lift slightly.
Suddenly, several tart-shaped ships appeared ahead, flying the unmistakable flag of the Big Mom Pirates.
"Whoa! Boss, those guys look weird as hell!"
Shane stared wide-eyed at the chess soldiers standing atop the pastry ships.
But Roldy 's attention was elsewhere—
On the massive donut-shaped flagship at the center.
Standing at the bow was a tall young man.
A familiar face.
"Gahahaha! The brat who used to run around behind Sister Linlin has grown into quite the man! Long time no see, Katakuri!"
Roldy 's laughter carried across the sea.
Charlotte Katakuri straightened his posture.
As the so-called "greatest masterpiece" of the Charlotte Family, his standing within the Big Mom Pirates was second only to Linlin herself. Though not yet at his future peak, his talent was already undeniable—the future strongest of the Sweet Commanders was taking shape.
He bowed slightly.
"Roldy -san."
The surrounding ships parted, and Katakuri gestured politely.
Roldy 's crew followed the donut ship toward the towering island ahead.
Whole Cake Island
Stepping onto the island felt… strange.
The ground was firm.
Yet oddly soft.
Perhaps psychological.
Everything here defied common sense.
Flowers, trees, grass, even stones—living or not—had been granted life by the power of the Soru Soru no Mi.
Smiling faces everywhere.
Singing in perfect unison—clearly rehearsed countless times to welcome Roldy .
Chess soldiers lined both sides of the road, forming a ceremonial corridor.
Katakuri walked half a step ahead of Roldy .
"Wait… why does my nose tell me this streetlamp is chocolate?"
Shane leaned forward and took a deep sniff.
He bit down.
Crunch.
Chocolate sweetness flooded his mouth.
"It really is!"
Katakuri answered calmly:
"Everything on Whole Cake Island is made of sweets. Even the clothing."
Roldy didn't care.
Crocodile, however, turned his head away as if disowning Shane entirely.
Shane, emboldened, plucked a singing flower.
The smile on the flower's face twisted into agony as it shrieked.
Shane shuddered and dropped it instantly.
"…Never mind."
He hurried back to Roldy 's side.
Suddenly, the smiling faces didn't feel cheerful anymore.
They felt… unsettling.
They passed Candy Bridges, Cocoa Fountains, Soda Streams—
Until at last they stood before the largest structure on the island:
Whole Cake Chateau.
The sweetness in the air had become thick—almost cloying.
Even Shane felt sick.
Inside the dimly lit hall, candles sang noisily.
Roldy frowned.
Black-red lightning flickered briefly.
A precisely controlled burst of Conqueror's Haki pulsed outward.
Every singing candle fainted instantly.
Cold sweat slid down Katakuri's forehead.
He possessed Conqueror's Haki himself.
Which meant he understood exactly how terrifying that level of control was.
To lack Conqueror's Haki and see Roldy was like a frog at the bottom of a well staring at the sky.
To possess it and face him—
Was like dust before the heavens.
"Mamama~ma! Long time no see, Roldy boy!"
At the far end of the hall, seated upon an enormous throne, was Charlotte Linlin.
Over eight meters tall.
Her body had thickened with age.
But the pressure she exuded far surpassed her days in the Rocks Pirates.
The air trembled.
Even Roldy 's subordinates found their legs shaking.
A Homie chess soldier brought a chair.
Roldy sat without hesitation and met her gaze directly.
He didn't know why she had invited him.
But Linlin clearly had no patience left.
"Roldy , I have something important to discuss. Let your subordinates wait elsewhere."
Soon, only the two Emperors remained in the chamber.
Roldy sipped red tea.
Admittedly—
Big Mom's tea was excellent.
"Roldy ."
"Give me a child."
PFFFT—!
Roldy sprayed tea everywhere.
For someone of his caliber to choke was rare.
He coughed several times before staring at her in disbelief.
"…What?"
"Mamama~ma!"
Linlin grinned widely.
"As the King of the Next Era, your talent surpasses even Rocks. If your blood and mine combine…"
"We will create the strongest warrior in the world."
Her eyes gleamed with ambition.
This wasn't romance.
It was strategy.
Power breeding power.
A union of Emperors.
A future that could shake the seas.
And for Linlin—
It was perfectly logical.
