"That is all the detailed data we have on Ayanokouji Kiyotaka and the other one hundred and fifty-six students in the second year. Have you committed all of that to memory?"
I listened to Tsukuhiro explaining all the data on the second years of the Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School.
It included information far more detailed than one would expect from a high school.
Names, birth dates, and what schools they had previously attended, parents and siblings, their grades from early childhood and even their friendships.
I silently committed them to my memory, and Tsukuhiro continued his explaination.
"I'm sure you're already well aware of this, but the important thing here is to get Ayanokouji-kun kicked out of school, and then bring him back to the White Room before the end of April. We cannot afford to delay our plans any longer.
However, please be smart about how you execute this operation. You must never make anything public. If the government does happen to hear about our actions, then, his, sensei's name could be dragged through the mud."
"In other words, don't do anything to attract unnecessary attention?"
Yagami beside me asked, and Tsukuhiro nodded.
"Precisely. Which is exactly why only someone like you, who can pose as a students to infiltrate the school, can do this. I will provide you with as much support as possible, but Sakayanagi will likely be much more cautious from this point forward. You won't be able to do anything careless."
Hearing this, Yagami looked frustrated.
"The look on your face is telling me that you're not exactly happy about this."
After glancing at the picture of Ayanokoji behind him, Tsukuhiro continued his provocation.
"I take it you know that he, that Ayanokouji-kun, is touted as our facility's magnum opus, our masterpiece?
Not only was I sent, but they're even sending someone from the White Room.
Meaning they interrupted the experiments being conducted in the White Room, which had finally resumed operations. I have to say, it truly seems like an excessive and rather generous response.
I suppose that to someone who has been raised in the same facility, there might be nothing more humiliating."
I started ignoring Tsukuhiro's provocation, which will only work on someone like Yagami or maybe others.
But there is something I have verified something from this exchange.
Either Ayanokoji Atsuomi doesn't actually want to expel his son from ANHS, and is using us as props to alleviate his status amongst the investors of White Room and politicians,
Or Tsukuhiro isn't exactly a subordinate, or even an ally of Atsuomi.
Moreover, both options might be simultaneously true.
Afterall, if Atsuomi didn't want Ayanokoji to enroll in ANHS, Ayanokoji wouldn't be able to go there in the first place.
It wouldn't make sense to let someone as talented as Ayanokoji to continue rotting in an illegal facility, given how bad he is performing in outside world.
Sending us there might actually be to ensure that he gets serious.
BUT, if Ayanokoji really managed to slip away when the White Room was temporarily closed, then an Acting Chairman would have no trouble getting a mere student expelled, who isn't as popular.
"Okura-kun, do you have anything to say?"
"Yes. I would like my name to be changed to Namikaze Minato."
Despite my odd request, Tsukuhiro didn't have any change in expression and said, "May I ask why?"
"No. Can you do it?"
"Oh!? Are you testing me?"
"Yes. I would like to test your authority a little bit for my plans. Afterall, we have already given the entrance exam and tomorrow is Entrance Ceremony."
"Then consider it done. You guys can trust me to take care of the aftermath as long as you don't cause too much trouble."
"Thank you."
So, atleast I have confirmed that Tsukuhiro isn't telling us the exact truth. Having such a name will definitely attract too much unnecessary attention, yet he is allowing it.
Tsukuhiro wouldn't make such an obvious contradictory statement.
"Well, you can have your own plans. I wouldn't interfere in them unnecessarily. Let's end this here for today. Afterall, time is precious.
But, I must remind you one thing again. I don't like to use a word like this so casually, but, He really is a monster."
-----------------
I rode a bus for the first time in my second life, filled with chaos and sweaty people.
Yet, it neither created any feeling of joy of normalcy, nor discomfort of being in this packed bus.
As expected, as long as White Room exists, I wouldn't be able to return to normal.
As I looked outside of the window, witnessing the sight of Tokyo, I recalled my lives until now.
I was just an average guy about to enter high school, but got hit by a Truck and reincarnated into this world.
My eyes hadn't developed properly at that moment, but when I managed to open them for the first time, all I saw was a white ceiling.
Instead of a colourful world of isekai, I was trapped in a world of White.
I have lived my whole second life in the White Room facility of a Light Novel called Classroom of the Elite, the same as the protagonist, Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, but a year younger.
Not knowing the exact details of what happens to the children who drop out, I couldn't drop out by intentionally holding back.
If I was the moral-less Atsuomi, I would get rid of them so that they can't expose the White Room, or sell them to influential people who are investing in White Room, so that they would also keep their mouths shut.
I didn't read much of the volumes past year 1, and don't remember most things related to it.
I have a vague feeling that Tsukuhiro is ambiguous, but unless I have some proof, I don't know if he will be useful or not.
In any case, I have a bit of freedom now, so I will start working on taking down White Room.
And a main key point in achieving that is defeating Ayanokoji Kiyotaka.
