Chapter 262 - moonlight

The "Analog" Moonlight: Rina's POV

The estate had finally quieted down, the heavy scent of night-blooming jasmine filling the air. Keigan had led me away from the bright lights of the pavilion to a secluded stone bench near the koi pond.

For a moment, the "Powerhouse" chaos felt miles away.

"Rina," Keigan whispered, his voice losing that sharp, technical edge it usually held. He took my hand, his thumb tracing the new rose-gold band on my finger. "I've spent so much time writing to you, but having you here... in high-definition... it's a 1,000% 'System Upgrade' I wasn't prepared for."

I looked up at him, my heart fluttering like the pages of my favorite journals. "You don't need a spreadsheet to tell me that, Keigan. I can see it in your eyes."

He leaned in, his glasses slipping slightly down his nose—a tiny "Glitch" that made him look so human, so vulnerable. I closed my eyes, tilting my head back, waiting for the "Initial Connection." I could feel his breath on my lips, the world narrowing down to just the two of us...

The "System Interference"

"INITIATING OBSERVATION PROTOCOL!"

The bushes behind us didn't just rustle; they exploded.

"Target is at 95% proximity! Prepare for 'Lip-Sync'!" shouted Keiran, who was currently perched on a garden wall with a pair of high-tech binoculars.

I jumped back, my face heating up so fast I felt like a 2,000% "Thermal Hazard." Keigan stood up, his "Alpha" posture trying to engage, but it was too late. The "Perimeter" was breached.

The Squad Ambush

Suddenly, the whole "University Squad" emerged from the shadows like a synchronized tactical unit.

Bridget stepped out, tapping her watch. "Late on the delivery, Keigan! You've been 'Buffering' that kiss for three minutes. In the field, that's a 'Mission Failure'!"

Felix was right behind her, nodding solemnly. "Data suggests the 'Angle of Entry' was slightly off. You need to adjust the 'Tilt-Axis' for maximum efficiency, Bro."

Calix and Mica were holding up their phone flashlights like spotlights. "Don't mind us!" Mica chirped. "We just wanted to make sure the 'Lighting' was 1,000% optimal for your first 'Fiancé-Level' interaction!"

Jay was being leaned on by Keifer, both of them looking completely unrepentant. "Keif told me to 'Monitor' the situation for safety," Jay giggled, patting her 7-month bump. "The twins wanted a 'Live Stream' of their new Auntie and Uncle!"

The "CEO" Critique

Keifer stepped forward, his face a mask of fake "Corporate" seriousness. "Keigan, as your older brother and CEO, I must inform you that your 'Public Display of Affection' lacks 'Strategic Execution'. You're letting the 'Audience' dictate the 'Connection Speed'."

"IT'S NOT A CORPORATE MERGER, KEIFER!" Keigan roared, his face now a lethal shade of crimson. "GET OUT! ALL OF YOU! CLEAR THE PERIMETER!"

"Whoa, the 'Update King' is getting spicy!" Mayo laughed, high-fiving Rory. "Does the 'Terms and Conditions' of the engagement include a 'No-Audience' clause?"

The "Analog" Retreat: [Rina's POV]

I looked at Keigan, who looked like he wanted to "Delete" everyone in a five-mile radius. Despite the embarrassment, a small laugh escaped me.

"Keigan," I whispered, pulling on his sleeve. "I think the 'System' is too crowded tonight."

He looked at me, his eyes softening instantly. He turned back to the laughing squad, his voice regaining its "Alpha" authority. "The 'Session' is closed! If I see one more flashlight, I am 'Firewalling' everyone's access to the open bar!"

The squad dispersed in a chorus of 'Oooooohs' and 'Simp!' chants.

Once they were gone, Keigan sighed, rubbing his temples. "Rina... I am 1,000% sorry. My family has zero 'Privacy Logic'."

I smiled, reaching up to fix his glasses. "It's okay, Keigan. It just means the next 'Letter' I write you is going to have some very 'Confidential' data in it."

He smirked, pulling me close. "1,000%?"

"1,000,000%," I promised.
