Chapter 288 - 1 month

The "1-Month Anniversary": System Update & Total Mutiny

[Jay's POV]

The first 30 days of the "Double-Heir" project have officially concluded. If I thought the pregnancy was a "System Stress Test," this month has been a 2,000% "Hard-Drive Burn-In."

The Watson Mansion, once a sanctuary of "Minimalist Logic," is now a "Tactical Zone" of diaper stations, high-tech sterilizers, and the unpredictable "Data Streams" of two tiny humans. Today was the "One-Month Review," and the power dynamics have shifted in a way that would make the Watson Board of Directors weep.

The "CEO" Status Report: [Keifer's POV]

I stood in the center of the nursery, looking at my reflection in the "Smart Mirror." I haven't worn a tie in 720 hours. My "Alpha" stubble has become a "Permanent Environment."

"Jay," I said, checking my watch. "It is 08:00 AM. Alexander has completed his 'Morning Intake' with a 98% efficiency rating. However, Aurora is currently 'Holding the Line'."

"She's not 'Holding the Line', Keif," Jay sighed from the rocking chair, looking 1,000% more rested than me. "She's 'Protesting' the outfit you picked out. She's a Watson. She knows that 'Neon Yellow' is a 'Visual Error'."

"It's 'High-Visibility Safety Gear', Jay!" I defended. "If I lose track of her in the garden, the 'Yellow Frequency' is easier to 'Track'!"

The "Bossy" Update: Aurora's 1-Month Audit

Aurora was now one month old, and her "Command Presence" had tripled. She no longer just "Eh-ed" at things. She had developed a "The Look."

Keigan walked in, trying to be the "Cool Uncle" with a brand-new, customized baby-swing he'd built in the Watson Tech-Lab. "Alright, Princess. This one has 'Active Suspension' and 5.1 Surround Sound."

He placed Aurora in the seat.

Aurora didn't cry. She simply stared at Keigan. Then, she looked at the "Control Panel." Then, she looked back at Keigan and let out a single, sharp, judgmental "Bah!"

"She... she just 'Dismissed' the UI," Keigan whispered, backing away. "She thinks my 'Processing Speed' is too slow. Jay, your daughter just 'Low-Rated' my engineering!"

"1,000%," I laughed. "She wants 'Manual Interaction', Keigan. She doesn't want a 'Scripted Sequence'. She wants her 'Personal Assistant'—aka, her father—to rock her."

Alexander: The "Silent Enforcer"

While Aurora was busy "Restructuring" the household staff, Alexander had become the "Silent Partner." He was 1.5kg heavier than his sister and spent most of his time "Analyzing" his own hands.

However, the moment Pappa Keizer walked into the room, Alexander's "Enforcer" mode kicked in.

"Come here, my little Heir," Pappa Keizer boomed, reaching for the boy.

Alexander didn't just fuss. He reached out, grabbed Pappa Keizer's 1,000 silk pocket square, and—with a level of "Tactical Strength" that shouldn't be possible for a 4-week-old—pulled it out and immediately "Re-coded" it with a mouthful of drool.

"He just 'Liquidated' your accessories, Pappa!" Ci-N shouted, leaning against the door with his usual smirk. "1-month-old and he's already 'Downsizing' your wardrobe. That's 1,000% Watson energy right there."

The 1-Month "Celebration" Dinner: [Jay's POV]

To celebrate "Survival," Keifer had organized a private dinner in the conservatory. But by "Private," he meant "Me, Keifer, and two infants in high-tech 'Command Chairs'."

"I've ordered the 'Optimal Nutrition' for us, Jay," Keifer said, finally sitting down. "And I've 'Synced' the baby monitors to my glasses so I can 'Scan' for 'Respiratory Gliches' while we eat."

"Keif," I said, taking his hand across the table. "Log. Off. It's been a month. The 'Assets' are thriving. The 'Empress' is happy. Even 'General Aurora' is currently satisfied with her 'Service'."

As if on cue, Aurora looked up from her chair, let out a tiny, soft "Coo," and then pointed her finger toward Keifer's wine glass.

"She... she's 'Requesting' a 'Sample'?" Keifer blinked.

"No, Hubby," I smiled. "She's 'Flagging' that you haven't toasted her yet."

Keifer stood up, his blue eyes softening as he looked at our two miracles. "To Alexander and Aurora. 1 month of 'System Chaos'. 1 month of 'Manual Labor'. And 2,000% worth the 'Investment'."

"1,000%," I whispered.
