"That was impressive, but I think I need to focus on what's in front of me," Nathan said, clenching his fists and raising them. He swallowed, unable to believe he was facing them without any preparation. "I don't want this."
"Yeah, me too," Infori replied.
The two of them prepared to face the Morak, who were coming in droves. They even had weapons—while Infori and the man (Nathan) didn't. It felt like they were cornered and had to fight no matter what.
Nathan then asked Infori, "Can you use that electric magic one more time? I'm starting to feel like we're not going to win."
"Yeah, you're right," Infori agreed and immediately pointed his palms toward the incoming Morak, causing the electricity to strike two Morak at once, destroying them.
Now there were only four Morak left.
"Good, do it one more time."
"Not now."
"What? Why?" Nathan asked.
"The Voltara Aegis takes about three seconds to reactivate," Infori replied, using his knowledge of his artifact's usage time. "And now it's working!"
Infori unleashed another burst of electricity from his palm toward one Morak. The Morak didn't have time to move, and was electrocuted and burned to nothing.
This incident caused the other three Morak to reconsider their actions, stopping before reaching their target.
"They stopped...!" Nathan exclaimed.
"Yes, but why?"
"Perhaps it's because of your powerful magic. Powerful magic can scare everyone, right?"
Hearing this, Infori became even more uncertain about the current situation. In the midst of this dangerous zone, monsters other than Morak could appear anywhere and at any time.
"I'm not sure about that..." Infori whispered.
The Morak simply watched without taking any action, as if waiting for the right moment.
—The sword swung towards both of their necks, the blade would separate their heads and bodies if they didn't dodge, but if they trusted their instincts, this was easy.
Infori immediately shouted, urging Nathan to— "Get down!"
The two of them quickly lowered their bodies, rendering Morak's slash from behind them futile. Morak seemed surprised to see this, while Infori moved to the right to regain his footing, as did Nathan, who moved to the left.
Nathan praised Infori a little.
"Perfect timing."
"Of course."
The Morak, irritated, suddenly lunged forward, attempting to stab with his sword. But Infori moved, deflecting his sword thrust, rendering it meaningless. Then Infori clenched his fist and punched him hard in the face.
He lost his balance and fell miserably, dropping his sword. Then Infori picked it up and stabbed the lying Morak.
SLAM!
Infori drew his sword back and turned to look at the three remaining Morak, who were terrified.
"Looks like they're scared," said Nathan, who stopped near Infori.
"Yes."
"Then I'll leave them to you."
Infori took a deep breath and then exhaled. Without further ado, Infori ran, charging toward the three remaining Morak. He was now confident, now that he had his sword. In one powerful movement, he swung the sword in his right hand, its large blade slicing through the air and aiming directly at Morak's body without hesitation.
His sword blade was quickly parried by Morak's sword in front of him. However, Infori quickly pushed his sword to the right, causing Morak's sword to be carried along with it. Then, at that moment, Infori thrust his sword straight into Morak's heart.
CRAK!
"GRRHH!"
The other two attacked simultaneously, both thrusting their weapons, sharp spears, at Infori. Quickly, he pulled the sword from Morak's heart, instantly knocking him down and vanishing. Infori, meanwhile, pushed himself back to avoid the stab, then stopped.
(A slight mistake, and I could have been stabbed by two spears. If that were the case...)
Infori moved his left arm to grab his right, causing the power to transfer from his artifact ring to the sword blade, enveloping the blade with energies accompanied by a flash of electricity.
"?!" Nathan and the Moraks were shocked to see this, their eyes widening.
"Now it's time for the show!"
Infori swung his sword horizontally, unleashing a lightning-like slash that aimed at the two Morak. The onlookers were terrified and ran for their lives.
However, unfortunately, the slash struck their bodies, electrocuting them, leaving them completely gone.
"It's over," Nathan said.
"Yes, but the zone isn't over yet."
Then, the two of them returned to the small crater with the Zone crystal floating above it. Nathan asked Infori, "Can it be destroyed by your attack?"
"I told you, didn't I? Destroying the Zone crystal isn't easy."
"Come on, you just don't believe in your strength. I'm sure you can do it."
Infori took a deep breath. (It's been said, but still stubborn, huh… Haaa…)
"Okay. Keep your distance."
Nathan then took a few steps back from Infori. He then removed his Aegis Voltara and put it back in his front left belt pocket, then took out his Winds Ring from his front right belt pocket.
"What are you doing?" Nathan asked.
"Using wind magic is better than electricity, right?" Infori replied.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
Infori placed the artifact on his ring finger. He moved his left arm to hold his right hand, causing the power to shift from his artifact ring to the sword's blade, enveloping it in a wind.
He quickly swung his sword, unleashing a wind slash toward the Zone crystal. However, something Nathan didn't expect happened—and Infori already knew what was coming.
The wind slash aimed at him didn't work at all, instead it rebounded, creating a powerful gust.
"!?" Nathan was shocked. Both Infori and Nathan were thrown backward and fell to the ground. "Ack!"
After that, the two of them tried to stand, and Infori answered Nathan's earlier question.
"Well... This is what I meant."
"Okay, now I believe you."
