Chapter 1 - The border of fire

The Border of Fire

Identify her. Stop her.

The order was clear and final. Officer Arjun did not ask questions. For him, the nation always came first. Emotions, comfort, even personal life — everything stood second to duty.

But destiny had already started writing a different story.

In a crowded metro station in Delhi, a young woman stood silently among hundreds of people rushing toward their destinations. Her name was Akanksha. She wore simple clothes and carried an ordinary handbag. Her face looked calm, almost innocent. No one gave her a second glance.

But she was far from ordinary.

Inside her handbag was a small encrypted device. Inside her mind were years of training, intelligence codes, and dangerous strategies. She had been sent with one clear objective — gather critical defense information and weaken security systems from within.

She moved carefully, blending into the crowd. Every step was calculated. Every breath controlled.

Later that night, inside her rented apartment in South Delhi, Akanksha locked the door and opened her laptop. The room was dimly lit. Outside, the city lights flickered like distant stars.

She connected the encrypted device. Within seconds, complex codes filled the screen. Firewalls cracked. Security layers trembled. Her fingers moved swiftly across the keyboard.

Meanwhile, miles away, a red alert flashed in a government cyber unit. Suspicious digital activity had been detected.

Arjun looked at the monitor sharply. "Trace the location," he ordered.

Coordinates appeared. South Delhi. A residential building.

Without hesitation, he grabbed his jacket and left. Something about this mission felt different. It wasn't just another operation. It felt personal, though he didn't know why.

Back in her apartment, Akanksha paused for a second. A strange uneasiness touched her heart. She glanced at the small Indian flag placed near her window — left behind by the previous tenant.

For a moment, doubt whispered inside her.

But she pushed the feeling away. Missions don't allow emotions.

Suddenly, her system detected a tracking attempt. Someone was tracing her signal.

She quickly activated a counter-program. Lines of code erased digital footprints. Sweat formed on her forehead, but her expression remained steady.

Downstairs, a black car stopped quietly. Arjun stepped out, scanning the building carefully.

The hunter and the hunted were finally under the same roof.

Upstairs, Akanksha packed her device. One final data transfer remained. After that, there would be no turning back.

As she opened her apartment door, footsteps echoed in the corridor.

She looked up.

And destiny stood right in front of her.
