Chapter 144 - Chapter 144: Made Into a GIF

"Block it! Block it for me!"

Tie Xi screamed hysterically.

He raised that S-Class golden shield once more.

The same shield that had withstood twentyfold gravity just moments before.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

Bullets struck the shield, sparks flying everywhere.

One second.

The shield held.

Two seconds.

Cracks began to appear on the shield's surface.

Three seconds.

Crack!

That supposedly indestructible S-Class shield, under the barrage of over a hundred large-caliber armor-piercing rounds per second, shattered into pieces!

"No—!!!"

Tie Xi roared in despair.

The next second.

His voice was cut off.

Without the shield...

What did it matter if he had an A-grade Steel Body?

In the face of absolute firepower density, all defenses were as fragile as paper.

Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump! Thump!

His body was instantly riddled with holes.

His steel-like skin was torn apart.

Flesh and blood flew everywhere.

His entire body was blown to pieces.

Not even a whole corpse remained.

The roar of the "Vulcan" cannon continued.

Qin Yu was like a merciless god of death, piloting this black harvester, conducting a final sweep across the sea surface.

Those "tough guys" who had been shouting threats just moments ago.

Now fell like wheat before a scythe, row after row.

The guy with Rock Hardening had his head blown clean off.

The mage hiding behind a Light Barrier was shredded to pieces, shield and all.

On the sea.

The dozen or so ships that had remained.

Were now turned into sieves.

Wood splinters, metal fragments, glass shards, mixed with dismembered limbs, floated on the water's surface.

The so-called "counterattack".

The so-called "still have a chance".

In the face of absolute firepower saturation.

Was nothing but a joke.

One minute later.

The gunfire stopped.

Only the monotonous roar of the helicopter's rotors still echoed over the sea.

Qin Yu pushed open the cockpit door.

One hand resting on the still-scorching barrel of the cannon.

He looked down at the sea below, now stained a dark crimson with blood.

Not a single survivor.

Not a single intact ship.

Those several hundred people from just before.

It was as if they had never existed.

Completely erased.

Qin Yu took off his sunglasses.

He looked down at that dead silent expanse of sea and uttered a single, calm sentence.

"Who's next?"

His voice wasn't loud.

But it carried far on the sea breeze.

...

On the nearby Floating Fortress.

Qi Chun was leaning over the railing, still holding that megaphone, his mouth agape so wide you could fit two eggs inside.

He had just been thinking about how to act more convincingly.

And then.

The battle was over?

Just like that?

From the Gravity Field's eruption to the helicopter's cleansing sweep.

Altogether.

It took less than three minutes.

A joint fleet of several hundred people.

Including several notorious tough guys from the rankings.

Just... gone?

Gulp.

Qi Chun swallowed hard.

He turned his head, looking at his equally dumbfounded subordinate beside him.

"Just now... that Tie Xi... wasn't he shouting about coming back for revenge?"

The subordinate nodded woodenly.

"I think... he was."

"And then?"

"And then... he got shattered."

Qi Chun shuddered.

He stared at the black helicopter in the sky, at the man sitting in the cockpit like a demon god.

Only one thought crossed his mind.

This wasn't survival at all.

This was a max-level player returning to the beginner village for a massacre!

Thud.

Qi Chun slammed the megaphone in his hand onto the ground.

"Stop staring, damn it!"

"What are you looking at? Haven't you seen Brother Yu lose his temper before?"

"Get moving, all of you!"

"Salvage everything!"

"There are hundreds of loot boxes out there!"

"Even broken equipment is still money!"

Qi Chun's shout snapped everyone back to reality.

"Oh, right! Salvage! Hurry up and salvage!"

"We're rich! We're really rich this time!"

"That's a fragment of Tie Xi's shield! That's S-rank material!"

The subordinates on the Floating Fortress were no longer afraid at all.

Their eyes gleamed with greed.

Driving the remaining small boats and holding fishing nets, they charged into the bloody sea like sharks that had caught the scent of blood.

...

High in the air.

Qin Yu was in no hurry to land.

He piloted the helicopter, circling once in the sky.

On the Radar.

The once densely packed red dots had been completely cleared.

Only in the far distance.

A few scattered light spots remained.

Those were the stragglers who had been too slow to escape or had hesitated earlier.

Now.

Those light spots were fleeing in the opposite direction at an astonishing speed.

Clearly.

They had witnessed the carnage here.

And were terrified out of their minds.

"Hah."

Qin Yu sneered coldly.

"Lucky you ran fast."

He turned the helicopter around and began a slow descent toward the President.

This "hunt."

Only now.

Had the roles of hunter and prey truly been established.

The moment he landed.

Li Ruobing walked over.

She looked at Qin Yu, her eyes filled with barely concealed excitement and… admiration.

This man.

Always managed to surprise her.

Or terrify her.

"How was it? Satisfying?"

Li Ruobing handed him a towel.

Qin Yu took the towel and wiped the oil and sweat from his face.

"Not bad."

"Just that the recoil from the machine gun was a bit too much—my hands are still numb."

Qin Yu tossed the towel aside.

"Leave the battlefield cleanup to Fatty."

"Ruo Bing."

"Hmm?"

"Edit the footage from right before Tie Xi died."

Qin Yu lit a cigarette and took a deep drag.

"Especially the part where he raised his shield and shouted his slogan."

"And the part where he was turned into a sieve by the machine gun."

"Put them together."

"Make it into a GIF."

"And post it on the World Channel."

Li Ruobing paused for a moment before understanding Qin Yu's intention.

She couldn't help but laugh.

"Brother Yu, you're really twisting the knife."

"That flaying photo earlier was brutal, but it was just a static image."

"This is an actual slaughter video."

"And it's specifically targeting those 'high-end players' who think they have defensive measures."

"I want to tell everyone."

"Whether you have an A-grade Talent or an S-Class Item."

"Whether you're a tank or a mage."

"In front of me."

"All are equal."

"All must die."

"Also."

Qin Yu paused, remembering something.

"Add a caption."

"Write this:"

"'If you're not convinced, feel free to keep sending more.'"

"'I have plenty of bullets.'"

"'I just don't know if you…'"

"'How many lives will it take to fill it.'"
