Chapter 2 - Mysterious Boy

He woke up and looked around; he was still in the bathroom. He touched his forehead and took a deep breath, repeating the same inhale and exhale a few more times until he was completely calm.

"It seems like I fainted…"

Thinking back to the scene yesterday was enough to make him shiver with fear. He used his hands on the floor to gain the strength to stand up and look in the mirror. Everything was normal except for the face covered in gray fog from last night.

Did I transmigrate? I'm transmigrating into a person I know nothing about, and from what I can see, this person doesn't seem to have any relatives. Is this fate? I'm lonely again.

He shook his head and slapped himself to return to reality, except for his face; the rest was still visible. It wasn't bad; his hair was silky and messy, but still beautiful. He looked at himself in the mirror. He seemed a bit short but not too short, so he could be estimated to be around 20 years old or older, probably around 169 - 171 cm in a white suit and light brown sweatpants his body was covered in bruises and wounds, his body was so weak that you could see the skeleton through the skin of his body and many other bruises that definitely weren't from last night's throw.

This body is really badly injured! The bruises look like someone beat me up, not to mention that I'm even sicker than when the old man starved me for over a week.

He was about to turn on the faucet when he stopped. According to his experience reading horror stories, it would normally flow out red liquid and usually blood, not normal water. He hesitated but still decided to turn on the faucet; luckily, the water was very normal. After finishing his hygiene, he went outside, and the sunlight gently shone into the gloomy room, as if illuminating his weak heart. Feeling it made him feel a little lighter back in the old world; it was difficult to see sunlight like this.

He walked back into his single bedroom now that he could take a closer look. He walked over to the desk and sat on a nearby chair, staring at the paper before sighing. It was time to study.

flip flip… scratch scratch…

The pages of the book were turned continuously, the other hand was writing non-stop as everyone thought he was opening the book - ancient language Rumes - he was interpreting the meaning of the paper in front of him that he did not understand or see last night. He realized one thing in this world, their language was very strange. Currently, he was speaking the language of this world called Vaerian, based on the name of the queen of the abandoned prince, who won the second war to bring peace to humanity, but the name of the prince was not recorded. How strange.. Such a famous person, but not recorded?

After a while of studying Rume, he shook his head. It was more complicated than he thought, so he went back to his original idea of finding the meaning of the words on the paper. One of his hands began to trace each stroke of the book, while the other hand held a pen and wrote under the strange letters.

Why is it so difficult? Let's see. < L..et's.. use.. the.. blood.. o..f.. a.. go..d.. alo..ng.. with.. some.. m..at..eri..al.. tha..nks yo..u.. ple..ase.. h..elp..Luca > Huh? Let's use the blood of a god and some material, and who is this person named Luca? Hmm, Luca.. what a strange name. Wait, could this Luca be me?!

He looked at the paper and was slightly shocked. Was he currently in the body of a person named Luca? If so, then he, no, now he is Luca, looked at the paper and thought for a moment before suddenly standing up. Could the blood of a god be that glass bottle? Last night, Luca was so scared that he didn't have time to think about it anymore. Luca immediately took out the color-changing glass bottle from his pocket. Sighing, luckily, it wasn't broken yet. If it were broken, his last hope would have disappeared. But... whatever new material it was, in general, it wasn't worth trying, so he shouldn't drink it right now. He was weak, not stupid.

In general, he now understood a little bit, but it was too much. Other people had relatives or someone to help them when they just entered the new world, but he did not know who he was; he only knew the name Luca, but the problem was that he did not know if it was his name. Luca scratched his head; his head was sore. It was time for Luca to put away the language book and take out the history book next to it, hoping to understand a little about this world.

...…

BUM!

Luca leaned on the old wooden chair; he was not feeling well at all. His brain needed time to digest that knowledge. Now, if you asked if he remembered it all, the answer was no. After all, in the old world, he was just a student, yes, a student who had just graduated; that knowledge was enough to give him a headache, but now he encountered this, it was a matter of fate to learn. Study and study forever… but he already understood the basic knowledge, but most of it was quite useless. It was about normal wars and the prosperity of kingdoms. The information he needed the most was not there, for example, the blood of the gods? The book itself focused more on the history of the city he was in.

"The capital Gaeahelm. The city of 'Gremico' is a small city in the capital that represents the land."

Luca stood from his chair and walked to the window, only to see many tree-lined streets and horse-drawn carriages running around. Luca just smiled. This was probably the capital that was most like his hometown, but whatever, he understood and knew what he needed to know now.

But the biggest problem is about money. I'm too poor right now, according to the book about money, I'm poor. Why am I so poor? I don't know if I have a job or not, but according to the current situation, I probably don't, or I was just fired.

In his wallet right now, there are only 2 Bronze Coins and 16 Copper Coins. In general, it's not too bad, but if it continues, then who knows what the future will be like…

Currency :

1 Gold Coin = 10 Silver Coins

1 Silver Coin = 50 Bronze Coins

1 Bronze Coin = 100 Copper Coins

...…

tap - tap - tap

His fingers just kept tapping on the table; it was probably a habit of his from the past, and every time he thought, his fingers automatically did that, and the speed became faster and faster. Overloaded... were two words that described him right now. But sitting still and not being able to do anything, he had no goal… wait, no, he had, it was to go home... Ah, no, to be more exact, to find a home.

Luca stood up and went to the small wardrobe in the corner of the room to take out some clothes. It was uncomfortable to wear something too formal, so he put it back in and rummaged through it for a while, only to find another set of clothes that finally satisfied him. Luca took off the old clothes and looked down to see that maybe yesterday's fall didn't hurt his fragile body. Luca was so thin that a strong wind was enough to blow him away. He means it.

The outfit was a light brown, slightly loose-fitting button-up shirt with a gathered necktie. The pants were a simple, light grey, straight-legged style, tucked into black, laced boots. Luca looked at himself in the mirror. Although the outfit was a bit old, still dusty, and a bit too big for him, he just wore it. Luca took the bottle containing the thing he called the blood of the gods and walked out the door with his small wallet. Luca went to the kitchen to see if there was anything left to eat; otherwise, he would have to go out to buy food, even though he didn't know if there was enough.

As soon as he entered, there was a small kitchen space, but what shocked him was that there was a gas stove here. During this time, was there such a thing? How could it appear here? If there was a gas stove, why wasn't there a refrigerator? Wait, he was poor, so how could he afford a refrigerator? But back to the main story, he went to the cupboard above his head and rummaged through a dozen cupboards, and there were still 3 potatoes and some vegetables. There wasn't even a piece of bread here. Well then, he had to go out for a small trip.

He just picked up the key from the wall and opened the door to step out when he saw a boy with striking, layered blue hair, transitioning from light to dark shades. His face is pretty, with piercing bright blue eyes, delicate features, and fair skin, with an ornate, dark blue formal jacket with gold trim and ruffles, worn over a white frilled shirt and black trousers. The guy looked cold, but when he saw Luca, his eyes suddenly sparkled as if he had found a diamond in a pile of rubble.

Who is that? He's so beautiful, like an angel. How can someone like that exist? Wait, something seems wrong. Is he a noble? Or maybe royalty. What's a person like that doing here? Wait, what's with the puppy eyes?!

That person rushed at him with terrifying speed. He tried to dodge but couldn't, so he let him hug him tightly like a teddy bear. Although it looked like a normal hug from the outside, it made him want to vomit blood. The wound from the free flight from that stranger was still there, but it didn't appear on his body. Although the pain was somehow reduced and his bones weren't broken, the wound was still there.

"I'm so happy to see you again.. wait LUCA!! "

The guy shook Luca repeatedly until he turned pale, fainted, and had foam at the mouth…

...…

Right now, Luca was lying on the sofa, but the blue-haired guy forced him to lie on that guy's lap, so now it looked really... strange seeing two guys being so affectionate like this. The blue-haired guy sighed while playing with Luca's hair.

"Why are you weaker than usual, Luca? You scared me, you know that?"

Whose fault is it that I'm in this situation? Just hugging someone and shaking them like that, normal people would get dizzy, and I, with this weak body, how can I stand it?! But who is this..? Why do I feel like I have to protect this guy… why?

That guy smiled brightly, making the flowers around him bloom. The cold beauty and spring-like smile, this is the type of person who is warm on the inside and cold on the outside. Thanks to this guy, he had already dressed himself, and now still hadn't gone out. His whole plan is being canceled. But never mind, it was still early in the morning, and there was no need to rush.

"Hey, where are you going, Luca?"

The sudden question made Luca stop, looking up at the person who was giving him a lap to lie on. He didn't know what to say, because this person seemed to be close to Luca, meaning Luca was the real owner of this body, but Luca didn't know how Luca had acted in the past. So he just answered normally, not close, not hostile.

"I was going to go shopping because I ran out of food."

"Then let's go together, you have no right to refuse, this is an order."

The guy replied immediately with that cold face, refusing was also understood as a bad omen, so Luca could only nod in agreement and go with him; maybe he would learn something more about himself? worth a try.

So the two of them went out together, and the other person helped him walk when they got out of the apartment complex he lived in, and wow, it was more bustling than Luca thought. There were many markets, many places, clubs, and people, especially the homeless. While walking, the other person talked to him quite a lot. That guy said many things; thanks to that, he knew this person was a noble of the Thompson family in the kingdom/Capital Aqtunhelm, which was called the land of the sea, and his name is Vien. But what made him wonder why this place was so modern, while it was in the development period from public toilets to kitchen utensils being discussed around, according to Luca's memory from the previous world, there was nothing like this in ancient times.

"Hey, are you listening to what I'm saying?"

Luca startled and turned back to look at Vien, who was acting like a child and sulking. Luca just sighed and looked at Vien in silence, giving him a silent treatment until Vien gave up and lifted his face, looking around. Vien looked at the bakery nearby and pulled Luca with him. Just as the bell rang, the old lady with the white apron and the purple puffy skirt was exactly the image of the old lady that every kid would see in a movie.

"Ah, my regular customers are here again? Luca, I have the tea and cookies ready for you, and Vien, your black coffee and cream are waiting. Still the Willy kind, I assume?"

"Yes, ma'am, I left the money here."

He put down 13 bronze coins. Luca looked at it and grimaced. The total amount he had was not even worth a normal morning tea for a noble.

"Isn't that too much.. I don't have the money to pay you back."

The old lady, whose name was Mary, liked the name of the bakery, and Vien looked at Luca, slightly shocked. Then Vien smiled and tilted his head in wonder.

"Why are you so nice today? You usually order more."

Luca stood there frozen, out of habit, then he adjusted his emotions a bit and laughed it off.

"Because I don't feel well today, I think I'll eat less, so I don't want to order much."

What a vague answer! This doesn't reduce suspicion but makes it more tense, it's almost hopeless..!

Vien just nodded to let it go, and both of them sat down to wait for the food. They both ate and talked, although Luca didn't say much, so Vien finished talking while he enjoyed his tea. It wasn't too bad, but his love for peach soda was still the best. In Luca's opinion, Vien talked a lot, but it was all about himself. In just a short while, Luca knew everything from his fish to each servant and even his family.

While talking, Luca asked permission to go downstairs for a moment to use the toilet. As soon as he finished, he walked out. Mrs. Mary looked at Luca and smiled gently.

"Luca, you seem quiet today. Is anything wrong?"

"No, no, I'm just feeling a bit under the weather."

Luca answered immediately, trying to make Mrs. Mary not doubt him with a smile, trying to smile as bright as possible, then asked her permission to leave and went back up to Vien. Mrs. Mary stopped washing the dish as turn to the stairs where Luca had just walked, sighed, and spoke in a louder voice.

"Make sure to rest and take care of yourself, alright?"

...…

Luckily, the morning tea ended quickly, so they walked around the market for a while, then suddenly, Vien was busy with work at the family company. Luca found out that, thanks to the phone call Vien had just hung up, he lowered his head with tears in his eyes, not wanting to go, and asked Luca to go with him. Luca just pulled Vien away and kicked him away without mercy. So Vien had no choice but to get back to his work before he made sure to hug Luca one last time before disappearing into the crowd. Finally, Luca was alone.

His purpose was to buy bread, explore this place, and find out the origin of the bottle containing the divine blood in his pocket. Luca hadn't done anything all morning, but whatever, thanks to Vien, Luca knew almost every place in this small Gremico city.

He looked at the people passing by, thinking about the events of last night. Those horrifying images still haunted him to this day. Suddenly, he thought of the red eyes that looked like that person's eyes and the hand on his left cheek. It was really scary, but the sunlight now was the opposite of the horror of yesterday. He didn't know if he would encounter scary things like last night again. Luca shook his head, not wanting to think about it anymore, so he went to the library area to find more information about this world. He went to the public library; luckily, it was free to enter. If it wasn't free, he would stop and go find another place.

So when he entered, he greeted the librarian before going to read in the quiet atmosphere of the library. Luca spent a few hours, maybe 3-4 hours, before he felt like he couldn't take in any more, so Luca just borrowed a few necessary books and brought them out with a card that counted the deadline as 7 days to return. Which today, 03/05/XXXX - 10/05/XXXX.

Luca looked at the ticket and wiped his eyes with his hand, then closed them repeatedly and opened them again as if he couldn't believe what he was seeing.

"What is this? Why can't I see the year?"

Luca intended to ask the people around him what year it was, but every time he asked, they looked at him in confusion and then answered. However, all he heard was static, like when your radio is broken; that was exactly the sound. Well, if he couldn't find it, Luca would temporarily give up and think about it later.

Just as he was about to go to the bakery to buy some bread for dinner, he stopped at a church with an eye-shaped logo that resembled the mark on the hand of the person who had summoned a winged eye last night.

The majesty of the church stands out from the surrounding buildings; its soaring stone walls are intricately and meticulously carved from white stone. The stained glass windows feature colorful patterns, and the arched entrance is carved with winged eyes. The atmosphere is heavy with the faint scent of incense, and the solemn sounds of prayer and singing echo from within.
