Something was truly rotten inside me.
I thought as I stared down at Sandra Tennyson.
She lay unconscious on the hospital bed sheets. I lifted my hand, and her body began to float—
Or rather, the magic carpet I'd hidden beneath her did.
I could feel it hissing at me—filled with hate.
"What's got your panties in a bunch?"
The magic carpet floated angrily, as if reminding me how I had stripped away its freedom by venomizing it twice for my own gain.
"Can you relax? I just needed to take the reins so we could get here faster. From now on, I'll let you be free. That's a promise I'm willing to keep—as long as you listen and don't cause trouble for me."
It didn't seem convinced, partly because I still had it venomized with a clone symbiote.
"Here, let me show you I can be trusted."
I made Sandra rise higher before pulling the Anti-Venom coating off the carpet.
"Ngh…"
Sandra trembled. Even unconscious, her body could sense something was wrong.
Tendrils wormed into her pores.
"Nnn… Nh…"
My symbiote slipped inside her, spreading quickly.
Sandra squirmed as I moved up her spine, my tendrils latching onto her back and jaw before burrowing into her mind.
She went still.
"You can set her down, then fly freely around the room."
My main body turned away from Sandra and toward Carl after I finished attaching to her.
The man was bleeding out on the floor.
"It's time I dealt with you properly."
I walked over to him, my body glowing with clone light as I divided into three.
The doctors and nurses watched in confusion.
They had been instructed by Morbucks to gas both Carl and Sandra.
That's what they expected.
Just a bit of dirty work.
But now… this had gone far beyond that.
They watched in fear as the two silver blobs I split into transformed into symbiotes.
The creatures writhed across the floor, slipping into Carl's wounds. They entered his blood, merging into his pierced heart.
They sealed his injuries, then traveled up his spine—just like with Sandra.
But when they reached his brain, they didn't just attach.
They dug in.
Carl's body twitched, spasming violently.
His eyes opened briefly.
"S-Sandra…" he called.
His heart had already stopped beating.
He felt himself growing cold as something searched through his mind.
Memories replayed backward—his son's birth, his marriage, the first time he met Sandra, his first day in college—
"Max Tennyson…"
Carl heard a voice that wasn't his ripple through his mind.
It sounded satisfied—like it had found what it was looking for.
"Eeghhhh…"
Carl let out an undead growl.
His retinas melted, his irises fading to gray.
He was going blind as his mind was dissected piece by piece.
He looked toward the third form I had split into.
This one hadn't become an alien or stayed as Ben 10. Instead, it wore a green latex suit—standing at 6'0, lean and composed.
"To think there's still a shred of you holding on… admirable."
The Deep spoke, raising his arms.
"That willpower… I really admire that about you, Carl."
He licked his lips as he walked toward Sandra, who had been set back down on the bed.
I gently brushed my hand along her inner thigh—
"The other thing I like… is right here."
Carl's limbs tensed as he watched me lift her sundress.
"Really, the longer I look at your face, the more I wonder… how did a loser like you land someone like her?"
I asked smugly, pulling my hand back just before going further.
But I left her dress raised.
Her pale legs were parted just enough to reveal her bright yellow lace underwear.
"But don't worry. Once you're gone…" The Deep looked directly at Carl. "I'll correct that by showing her everything you couldn't."
Carl's teeth clenched. His fury boiled over as he stood at death's door.
His veins bulged.
"Touch her… and I'll kill you!!"
The Deep laughed.
"I'd love to see you try—with your brain scrambled to pieces~"
The symbiotes in his brain tore through flesh and matter. Carl tried to push through the pain.
I'll kill you. I'll kill you.
I smiled, hearing his thoughts unravel.
"Goodbye, Carl. I'll use your body—and your wife—for something better."
The symbiotes took over what remained, pushing out his fragmented consciousness.
I'll… I'll… KILL YOU!!!!!
His back arched violently—
"EGHHHHHHHH!!!!"
A green light burst from his dying carcass, spiraling upward like a soul forced out of its body.
Grawllll…
The light growled and shot toward The Deep, forming a sinister, bone-chilling expression.
I grinned, having anticipated this outcome.
SWISSSHHH!!!!
Before it could reach him, The Deep pulled Sandra upright, using her as a shield.
The green light froze.
—Sandra—
That hesitation was all I needed.
The moment it looked back, it was too late.
A silver lamp flew forward, sucking it in.
"Hahahahaha!"
I laughed wholeheartedly.
Carl's body moved again—under my control.
Without a soul, it was easy.
The symbiote spread, coating every limb until he was completely mine.
The nurse stared, speechless, as "Carl" rose from his pool of blood and walked toward them.
"You all did an excellent job. I'll tell Morbucks to pay you extra."
Carl's eyes flickered as color returned. He rolled his shoulders, then looked at The Deep.
The Deep looked back.
Ding!
