Chapter 16 - The price of saving her :

Fangxi's heart. Shattered into . Pieces. the moment those Words left Sheyaan's Lips. that she didn't recognize him.

It felt as if time itself had stopped. His eyes filled with tears, yet they refused to fall, as if they had forgotten the way down.

All his emotions remained trapped in his throat. unable to turn into words, unable to turn into sobs.

Fangxi kept staring at Sheyaan, his mind drowning in memories..He remembered how he used to pamper her for everything,

how he fulfilled every little wish of hers. Whenever she felt sad, it was always Fangxi

who wiped her tears and brought a smile back to her face. Those memories alone were enough

to make his heart ache..With a broken soul, he slowly stood up and began to walk away from her.

Suddenly. a soft, familiar voice echoed through the room.

"Fangxi…"

Hearing it, Fangxi froze. He turned around quickly. but everything behind him was silent.

Disappointment washed over his face, and he lowered his gaze. Then once again, in a gentle, tender tone, the voice called.

"Fangxi…"

This time, Fangxi slowly lifted his eyes. and looked toward Sheyaan.

With pure innocence, she softly replies.

"I...I'm really hungry, Fangxi."

Hearing those words, Fangxi was completely shocked. His eyes widened in disbelief

as he stared at Sheyaan. as if trying to understand .whether this moment was real or just a dream. And then, without another thought…

he hurriedly. rushes toward Sheyaan. His heart is pounding violently in his chest,

and fear makes his voice tremble and stutter..In a shaky tone, he asks.

"Do… Do..you Re...Recognize me?"

Sheyaan slowly nods her head..Her eyes meet Fangxi's, calm and gentle..Then, with a soft smile, she says—

"Hmm… how could I...I ever..forget you?"

Hearing those words, Fangxi's happiness knows no bounds. A wide smile spreads across his face.

He bursts into laughter, overwhelmed with joy, repeating again and again.

"Really?

You..you..truly recognize me?"

Were you joking with me.

Sheyaan has a cute smile

the sound of Fangxi's joyful laughter. echoes outside the room. The doctors, who were talking to Fangxi's mother outside,

enter the room in surprise. Seeing Fangxi's condition, his mother asks in shock.

"What happened, Fangxi?

Why are you laughing so loudly?"

Fangxi finally controls his laughter. and, with a proud and relieved smile, says.

"Mom… I told you, didn't I?

Sheyaan could never forget me..Look… she recognized me."

Hearing this, Fangxi's mother..quickly walks over to Sheyaan..Concern fills her eyes as she gently asks.

"Sheyaan, my child… are you feeling okay?

"Are you in any pain?Does anything hurt?"

Sheyaan said in her soft and gentle tone,

"Hmm… aunty, I'm fine."

Hearing this, a proud smile appeared on the doctor's face.

He said happily. That means Sheyaan's memory is perfectly intact..This is really wonderful news."

The doctor then stepped forward, placed a hand on Fangxi's shoulder, and replies with a smile.

"Fangxi, it seems you trust Sheyaan a great deal."

Fangxi looked at Sheyaan, his voice deep and firm as he said.

"Yes, Doctor.

I trust Sheyaan more than I trust myself. Hearing this, Fangxi's mother's face lit up with happiness.

She said warmly.

"Well, now that everything is fine, why don't we celebrate Sheyaan's recovery with a small party?"

The doctor nodded in agreement and replies.

"That sounds good..You all enjoy the celebration..I'll take my leave now."

And with that, he walked away. As soon as the doctor left, Sheyaan pouted slightly

and said in a very innocent tone.

"Aunty…

" i said something to Fangxi just now, but he didn't listen to me at all." Hearing this,"

Fangxi's mother immediately turned toward him, scolding him half seriously.

"Fangxi!

Why didn't you listen to what Sheyaan said?"

Poor Fangxi was completely taken aback. He defended himself in confusion.

"But Mom…she didn't say..anything to me!"

Looking at Sheyaan in surprise, Fangxi asked,

"Sheyaan… will you tell me what you said to me, and when?"

Sheyaan slightly pouted and replied with a hint of annoyance,

"I told you that I was really hungry!

" But you were so lost in your laughter. that my words never even reached your ears."

Hearing this, Fangxi quickly held his head

and replies in embarrassment,

"Oh no!

" i completely forgot about that..Then he immediately asked,"

"Alright, tell me… what would you like to eat?"

With a mischievous smile, Sheyaan said,

"Did you forget? My favorite things…the ones I loved the most?"

Without any delay, Fangxi replied confidently,

"That's impossible! I know all your favorites..I'll bring them right away." But remember I won't leave you."

"you made me cry so much."

Saying this, Fangxi hurried out of the room. Inside the room, Sheyaan's aunty remained seated beside her. After some time,

due to exhaustion, Sheyaan slowly closed her eyes. But Suddenly.

a sharp pain and burning sensation. shot through her neck..Her sobs caught in her throat,

and she writhed in discomfort..Something strange and yellowish

seemed to be spreading across her neck..The moment Sheyaan placed her hand over it, an unbearable burning pain surged through her,

as if something deep inside her. had begun to awaken…The burning sensation felt .as if fire had ignited along Sheyaan's neck.

The intensity of the pain. made her body tremble, and she cried out loudly,

"Aahhh… it hurts… it's burning!"

Tears streamed down her face.as she began to cry uncontrollably..With every breath,

the pain seemed to grow deeper. But unfortunately.

Sheyaan's aunty had stepped out earlier. to get her medicine..After Fangxi left,

Sheyaan was completely alone, and her condition kept worsening with every passing moment. Writhing in pain,

she kept repeating through her sobs,

"Aahhh… it burns… it hurts so much…"

Then something unnatural began to happen..The room's temperature suddenly Dropped,

as if all warmth had vanished at once..There was no wind outside, yet the curtains began to flutter violently.

Sheyaan's screams echoed .throughout the room. As she lay on the bed, trembling in distress,

her eyes caught sight of a thick, black smoke. Fear gripped her heart when she saw it.

from within that smoke, a tall, mysterious figure slowly emerged. His eyes were deep and cold,

his face gleaming like polished marble. Dressed in a black coat, the figure began walking straight toward Sheyaan.

silent… unstoppable…

The unknown figure .was staring at Sheyaan. who was writhing in pain at that very moment.

He was none other than

"Zavian."

Without a trace of fear, Zavian stepped forward and sat down beside her. Sheyaan's red, pain filled eyes

remained fixed on him, unable to look away. Zavian leaned in, Gripped both of Sheyaan's shoulders,

and pulled her sharply toward himself. With one hand, he supported the back of her neck, while his other hand moved upward.

right to the spot. where the burning pain was the strongest. Suddenly.

a crimson, lightning-like glow burst forth from Zavian's hand. The moment that light touched Sheyaan's neck,

her body shuddered violently. A cry of agony escaped her lips.

"Ahhh!"

Sheyaan struggled desperately.to free herself, but Zavian's hold was unbreakable. He pulled her tightly

against his chest..The energy flowing from his hand grew stronger, and under its influence, a yellow radiance began emerging from within Sheyaan. Overwhelmed by the pain,

Sheyaan clutched Zavian's coat tightly. Tears streamed endlessly from her eyes. as pain, fear,

and something far more mysterious.consumed her completely. Tears streamed down Sheyaan's face..like a flowing river.

She was at the very edge of pain, crying out loudly.

"No… let me go! It hurts so much!"

Sheyaan kept screaming, but Zavian did not release her. There was no panic on his face.

only deep seriousness. Twisting in pain, Sheyaan desperately tried to free herself.

In a moment of fear and anger, she even tried to bite his neck. but it had no effect on him at all. Moments later,

Zavian completely erased .the burning sensation from her neck. Sheyaan slowly began

to calm down. Her breathing was still heavy as Zavian looked at her. Her head was still resting against his chest.

Zavian gently stroked her hair..Then, in his deep, cold voice, he asked.

"Tell me…do you still feel any pain or burning?"

Sheyaan slowly pulled away. With tear filled eyes, she glared at him and shouted angrily.

"Yo...you're heartless!"

" Do you have any idea. how much pain I went through?"

Looking at Sheyaan, Zavian repeated .in his deep, cold voice.

" i asked you…

do you still feel any pain?"

Sheyaan looked at him..There was a hint of fear in her eyes, and a soft complaint in her trembling voice.

"no...no…it doesn't hurt anymore."

gearing this, Zavian let out a quiet sigh of relief. He stood up, about to leave, when suddenly Sheyaan

Quickly grabbed his hand. With innocent curiosity, she asked Softly.

"Who… are you? And why did yo..you help me?"

her words made Zavian freeze for a moment. In that instant, he understood.

Sheyaan Had completely forgotten him. His mind drifted back to the memory of that yellow light .leaving her neck. It was no ordinary glow.

it was the poison of the

"Arrow"

That Xavier had once struck her with. In his deep, cold voice, Zavian asked Sheyaan.

"Do you really not know who I am?"

hearing this, Sheyaan was completely stunned. A storm of questions raged inside her mind, yet her lips refused to move.

Zavian noticed her shock, and a mysterious smile slowly appeared on his face. Looking straight into her eyes, he continued.

"in time, you will learn everything, Sheyaan… but from this moment on, your soul belongs to my protection."

His voice grew colder.

"Remember this…No one can harm you anymore."

After a brief pause, he added with chilling certainty.

"And if anyone even tries to hurt you…that day will be their last."

The Very next moment, the Room changed..Wrapped in thick black Smoke,

Zavian vanished.

As if he had never existed there at all..Sheyaan stood alone in the room, lost in deep thought.

his words still echoed in her ears. She couldn't tell whether this marked a new beginning of her life.or

The start of something far more dangerous.
