Sheyaan stood silently before, Zavian trying to steady her trembling heart.
His words echoed in her mind like a storm. Fear had taken over her completely her body trembled, yet she couldn't move an inch.
On the other hand, Zavian stood utterly still. His face showed no emotion, no reaction only those deep, piercing eyes that seemed to read straight into her soul.
Gathering what little courage she had left, Sheyaan repeated the question,
"we...will.. you… kill me?"
A faint, mysterious smile appeared on Zavian's lips.
Suddenly, he placed both his hands against the wall behind her trapping her between himself and the wall.
Slowly, he leaned closer… so close that their breaths began to collide.
Then, in a low, chilling yet almost playful tone, he said.
"Yes… I… will kill you."
His voice echoed in her ears like a warning bell. Her heart pounded violently, her eyes filled with tears,
and for a moment, it felt as if her very soul had been shaken.
Struggling to speak, she whispered,
"So… will you really kill me? And is that… the reason you're protecting me?"
Tears streamed down Sheyaan's face uncontrollably. Her voice trembled as she spoke broken and fragile.
"…so that when the time comes… you can kill me?"
Her words, along with those falling tears, pierced through Zavian's stone-like heart.
For a moment, he held his breath… then slowly pulled his face away.
as if her fragile voice had shaken something deep within him.
He looked at her intently. His face was blank… but his voice carried a chilling coldness,
"Stop crying... in front of me. I don't like people... who show their weakness... to everyone."
His harsh words struck her heart like an arrow.
It hurt more than anything. The person she thought was her protector… how could he be so merciless?
Overcome with anger and pain, she pushed his hands away and ran out of the room.
Wiping her tears, she hurried down the corridor—her breaths uneven, her steps unsteady.
Behind her, Zavian stood still… silently watching her walk away.
Through her tears, her voice echoed with anger and heartbreak
"I will… ne...never talk to you again! I...thought you were a good person… but no… you're a terrible person, Zayan!"
"I will never talk to you again!"
Wiping her tears, Sheyaan made a firm promise to herself. In her heart, she said everything a person says when their heart is completely shattered.
But the innocent Sheyaan didn't realize… that every single thought, every silent cry of her heart—Zavian had heard it all. Not with his ears… but through his powers.
Zavian let out a slow, deep breath. There was no trace of pain left on his face now—only that same cold, emotionless calm.
As he stepped out of her room, he slipped his hand into his pocket… and a faint, demonic smile appeared on his lips.
In a low, whispering voice, he murmured,
"My Silent Girl… let's see how long you stay angry."
Then, in a cold tone, he said to himself,
"It's in a demon's nature… we don't go back to.. mend hearts we break. My job isn't to play with emotions… it's to protect."
He paused for a moment… then added softly,
"But… I will protect you. Always."
With that, he walked downstairs.
Reaching the living area, he casually sat down on the sofa, crossing one leg over the other. Pulling out his phone, he began using it
as if nothing had happened upstairs mattered at all.
Lucy, who was already there and closing her laptop, observed him closely. His cold and indifferent behavior didn't go unnoticed.
She placed her laptop aside… looked straight at Zavian, and began to speak.
Lucy was usually known for her serious and strict demeanor, but today, for the first time, a faint smile played on her lips.
Zavian's striking looks, his composed aura, and his cold personality had deeply impressed her.
In a soft, polite tone, she asked,
" Uh..Hello What's your name? Are you... here for some work in our house?"
But Zavian showed no reaction. He remained still and silent, his eyes fixed on his phone.
as if he hadn't heard her at all… or simply chose to ignore her.
Lucy frowned slightly, confused. She tried again,
"Hello, Mr… hello?"
As she stood up and stepped closer to him, Zavian suddenly lifted his gaze—his sharp, deadly eyes locking onto hers.
That single glance…
was enough to freeze her in place.
It felt as if there was a deep darkness hidden within his eyes something that stopped her from taking even a single step forward.
Startled, Lucy slowly sat back down. Forcing a small smile to hide her unease, she asked again,
"I just... asked you something, Mr… would you mind telling me your name? And... why are you staying in our house?"
Zavian didn't answer.
He simply kept staring at her with those same cold, unreadable eyes.
He was as if he could see straight through her thoughts without uttering a single word.
An eerie silence spread across the room. The kind of silence that slowly turns into fear.
Zavian heard Lucy, but showed no reaction. After a brief silence, he replied in a cold, sharp voice,
"What do you need my name for?"
Lucy, who had been quite confident until now, faltered at his tone. For a moment, she lost her composure, but quickly tried to recover,
"no...no… I was just asking… since...you've been staying in our house for a..while…"
This time, Zavian slowly set his phone aside and looked straight into her eyes. His gaze had grown even colder.
"If you have a problem with me sitting here…"
Before he could finish, Lucy hurriedly cut him off, slightly panicked,
"no...no! You can... sit here…"
She forced a faint smile, trying to ease the situation.
But Zavian didn't give her that chance.
In an even sharper, almost savage tone, he replies.
"You didn't... hear me properly. I said… if you have a problem with me sitting here, then...you're free to leave."
Lucy froze.
Shock and disbelief filled her eyes. The boy who was supposed to be a guest in their house…
was now telling her to leave her own space.
As if nothing had happened, Zavian picked up his phone again and got lost in it.
as if her presence didn't matter at all.
His cold indifference made Lucy feel uneasy… even in her own home.
Not knowing what else to do, she quietly stood up… and walked away.
Lucy walked away, but inside her, a storm of anger and confusion was raging. Under her breath, she muttered,
"What kind of person is he…? He made me feel uncomfortable in my own house… how strange…"
Clenching her hands in frustration, she left.
The moment Lucy disappeared from sight, Zavian suddenly lowered his phone and lifted his gaze.
His face had changed—now darker, more serious… more dangerous.
In a low, heavy voice, he muttered,
"The game has only just begun… just wait and see how I remind all of you of your place…"
Zavian slowly stood up and began observing the mansion carefully.
A strange glint flickered in his eyes. Using his powers, he seemed to scan every corner of the house.
He started walking… brushing his fingers against everything in his path.
as if searching for something hidden within them… an old secret buried deep.
Then.
A sudden whisper echoed in his ears.
"Only one day... is left to begin the work… and make sure I don't have to repeat this.. again…"
Zavian froze.
His body tensed instantly. Slowly, he turned his head around.
as if trying to locate the source of that unseen voice.
His patience had run out.
The darkness in his eyes deepened.
A low growl escaped hip sips as he spoke.
"Looks like… it's finally time to show everyone my true powers…"
