Chapter 80 - The Shadow in the Room :

The moment the call ended, Sheyaan collapsed onto the bed her heart.

pounded wildly in her chest like a hammer striking over and over again.

Innocently, she placed her hand over her heart and whispered to herself,

"What's happening.. to me? Why is my heart beating..so fast today…?"

Lost in her own thoughts, Sheyaan couldn't understand why just hearing Zavian's voice made her whole body tremble.

The mansion was dimly lit, and everyone except her was fast asleep in their rooms.

It was already 11:30 at night, and outside, a quiet darkness had taken over.

On the other side.

Zavian hurried out of his room. He was dressed sharply—fitted black pants, a matching black shirt, and polished black shoes.

There was something strangely captivating about him, something that made him look far from ordinary… almost mysterious.

He slipped his phone into his pocket and was about to step out when Kalene suddenly stopped him,

"Boss! Where are you going? Aren't you going to...have dinner?"

Kalene was standing near the dining table, where several dishes had been neatly arranged.

Zavian paused, turned back, and looked at him with cold, icy eyes before replying in a flat tone,

"No… I'm not hungry. You eat and...go to sleep."

Then, raising his finger slightly, he added in a firm warning,

"And don't say.. another word… understood?"

Kalene was left completely stunned. There was such authority in Zavian's voice that he quietly lowered his head without saying anything.

Without another glance, Zavian walked out of the apartment. his destination now perfectly clear.

Kalene's eyes widened in shoke as he looked at him In a loud, stunned voice, his asked.

"But Boss… where are you going?"

Hearing him, Zavian didn't even bother to turn back. Without looking behind, he replied in a cold, threatening tone,

"Keep your mout.. shut!"

The moment those words left his lips, Zavian vanished into thin air.

Kalene didn't even get a chance to blink before, in the very next second, Zavian appeared in the parking hall below the apartment.

A strange chill and faint rustling lingered in the air where he had been.

Zavian quickly walked toward his car. He opened the back door and picked up Sheyaan's bag from the seat.

Sheyaan's bag in his hands and stared at it, a deep smirk slowly forming on his lips. In a low, mysterious voice, he murmured to himself,

"Hmm… because of you today… I'll take care..of my 'work' as well."

As soon as he took a step forward, he vanished like a cloud of smoke.

In the very next moment, he appeared in the parking area outside Sheyaan's mansion.

He lifted his gaze and looked at the dimly lit mansion, taking a slow breath. In a cold tone, he muttered,

"Quite… interesting. But… there are some truly disgusting people... living inside this mansion… ruining its beauty."

His eyes scanned the building before settling on Sheyaan's balcony. The lights in her room were still on.

Behind the white curtains hanging by the balcony door, the inside was faintly visible.

Her silhouette was cast on the fabric—restless, pacing back and forth inside her room.

Seeing her shadow, a faint smile appeared on Zavian's lips.

Bending down he picked up a small stone from the ground standing below,

Zavian narrowed his eyes carefully aiming before throwing it straight toward Sheyaan's balcony door.

It hit the glass with a sharp thak sound that echoed through the room.

Inside, Sheyaan, who had been pacing around, froze in fear as soon as she heard the noise.

Her steps stopped instantly. Nervously, she looked toward the balcony, where silence lingered behind the curtains.

Slowly, she walked closer, her hands trembling as she pulled the curtain aside and slightly opened the door.

She peeked outside, but at first, she couldn't see anyone.

Then she stepped up to the railing and looked down… and in the very next second, her eyes landed directly on Zavian.

He was standing there, staring straight at her with those deep, mysterious eyes.

Seeing him, Sheyaan was momentarily shocked—but in the next instant, a bright, beautiful smile spread across her face.

Zavian, standing below, continued to watch her with a serious gaze, as if trying to read her heart.

Without saying a word, Sheyaan gestured excitedly with her hands, her face lighting up with happiness:

"Wait there… I'm coming down!"

Seeing Sheyaan gesture for him to come down, Zavian raised his hand and stopped her, murmuring softly,

"No… I'll come.. up."

Sheyaan was still trying to process what he meant when Zavian suddenly moved.

For a brief second, he disappeared from her sight—and in the very next moment, he was standing right there on her balcony.

Sheyaan was completely shocked. Her eyes widened in disbelief, and for a moment, she froze.

Zavian snapped his fingers right in front of her face—"SNAP!"

The sound brought her back to her senses. Blinking, she stammered softly.

yo...you… how did you get... here so fast?!"

Zavian didn't answer her question. Instead, a faint smirk formed on his lips as he handed her bag to her, saying in a cold tone,

"Here… your bag."

Sheyaan took it happily and looked at him with grateful eyes before asking,

"But… why didn't you just come... from the front?"

At that, Zavian leaned casually against the balcony railing, slipping his hands into his pockets. In his low, raspy voice, he replied,

"You know what kind of chaos... happened this evening, right…? I don't want another... scene like that."

Sheyaan nodded in understanding and said softly,

"Hmm… you're quite..smart."

Zavian didn't respond, only a slight smile touching his lips.

Hesitating slightly, Sheyaan looked at him and asked in a soft voice

"So… now that you've.. given me my bag… are you leaving?"

Hearing this, Zavian took a slow, deep breath and looked straight into her eyes.

That same icy coldness lingered in his gaze. In a low, firm voice, he asked,

"What do you.. want…?"

The directness of his question made Sheyaan's heart start racing instantly.

It felt as if he could see right through her. Nervously, she clutched her bag tightly against her chest,

as if it were something protecting her.

She looked away, her eyes wandering as she replied in a slightly shaky voice,

"Umm… I don't want anything! I was just...asking…"

Then, gathering a bit of courage, she looked back at him and said softly,

"Thank you… for bringing my.. bag."

Sheyaan hesitated again, pressing her lips together as she slowly continued.

"Uh… you can… leave now!"

Hearing that, a mysterious glint appeared on Zavian's lips. Silently, he leaned in so close to Sheyaan that their breaths began to collide.

Her eyes widened in shock and nervousness. His face turned completely calm and firm as he said in a low, raspy voice,

"And what if... I don't…?"

Being this close to him was enough to completely shake her. Her heart started racing wildly, like a horse running out of control. Avoiding his gaze, she spoke in a trembling voice,

"Th… that's… your choice!"

Her innocent reply amused him. Zavian straightened up and, in a composed tone, said,

"Will you do something...for me?"

Sheyaan looked at him, confused and slightly uneasy.

"wha...what kind of..thing?"

After a brief pause, Zavian leaned a little closer again and said quietly,

"I need to.. feel my powers… and I need them...badly."

Hearing this, Sheyaan froze. Questions rushed through her mind. She asked softly,

"An...and… how will you do.. that?"

Zavian looked straight into her eyes and replied calmly,

"You just stay quiet… I'll handle the rest."

Hearing Zavian's strange words, Sheyaan grew a little nervous. Making a small face, she asked innocently,

"Ar...are you going to do the.. same thing you did the...first time? When we all went out to eat..together at that restaurant…?"

She remembered that day—how she had been forced to stand for so long because of him. In a slightly complaining tone, she added,

"My legs hurt so much... that time… you just made me stand there!"

Her childish and innocent complaints softened Zavian's stone-like heart a little. In a calm, reassuring voice, he said,

"Don't worry… this time, you won't feel..any pain."

There was such confidence in his tone that her heartbeat sped up again. Slightly hesitant, she scratched her head and said softly,

"Uh… okay then."

Hearing that, Zavian turned serious. He glanced from the balcony toward the room and said,

"It won't be right to..do this out here… shall we go inside?"

Sheyaan's heart sank at his words nervousness creeping in, still. She gathered her courage and replied.

"Ok...okay!"

Together they stepped inside from the balcony in the dimly lit room.

The fear on Sheyaan's face was impossible to miss, yet Zavian's thoughts were entirely different.
