Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: First sign in-2

"BOOM!"

An extremely evil and disgusting aura began to leak from his body. It could be seen faintly distorting the void, as if the technique was being rejected by the Profound Spirit Continent.

All around Qinghe City, the air suddenly turned gloomy. Although it wasn't noticed by ordinary people, it couldn't fool the Grandmasters and other big shots of the city. They all looked up at the sky in confusion and furrowed their brows.

All of a sudden, the sky over the entire city darkened as if it were the end of days. Surrounding the dark clouds were crimson-colored lightning streaks flashing across from time to time, giving off a huge sense of oppression to everyone, including the Grandmasters.

"Hey, look up at the sky! What is that?" someone on the street said, pointing at the angry heavens.

"Damn, what is going on? Could it be that a passing senior is undergoing tribulation?" someone else asked.

"No, it can't be. According to the scriptures, even the legendary Monarch Tribulation isn't this terrifying. This one is giving off the aura of destroying everything," another person added.

"It… it won't really fall, right?" someone said in a horrified voice, making everyone else shiver.

"Damn, damn! I don't care what it is, but as long as even one of those thunderbolts falls, we're all dead!" a person shouted, making everyone run away, scattering in fear of being affected by the lightning.

'Yes, it doesn't matter whether it's tribulation or not, but as long as it falls, the entire city will be destroyed without doubt.' That was on the minds of everyone present.

[Inside a secret room of the Alchemist Association]

An old man could be seen meditating in front of an alchemy cauldron, sweating profusely. The faint refreshing smell of medicine filled the air. He hurriedly looked up at the sky and the crimson lightning filling it. His body trembled, and because of his distraction, the cauldron in front of him trembled and then exploded, nearly blowing him away. But he did not care about that and continued to stare at the distant sky.

"Damn it! Taboo! Somebody actually dares to commit taboo against Heavenly Dao in this remote place. It is really courting death and wants to drag me down with him!"

"MEN!" he called out.

"Here!" Ten men hurriedly rushed forward and bowed down.

"Go and find out who is committing taboo and stop him. It is best to do it without killing, but if it's not possible, then kill."

"Yes, Branch Head!" They replied in unison. Their bodies flickered, and they disappeared.

[On the top floor of the Martial Pavilion]

A beautiful woman who looked to be about nineteen years old, wearing barely any clothes that made all her bountiful curves stand out on display, could be seen lounging lazily on a chair. Too bad no man could be there to see the beautiful scenery; otherwise, they would drool over themselves and may not be able to control their little brother and pounce on her.

Suddenly, the girl jumped up upon noticing the changes in the town. She flicked her wrist, and a fresh set of clothes was put on from her spatial ring.

"Suzu," she called out.

A maid stepped out of the shadows, clad entirely in black, making one unable to see her body, only the feminine voice pointing to the fact she was female.

"You called, Young Miss?" the maid answered.

"You see the changes in the sky? Doesn't it look similar to what was written in the books we read back home?" the hot lady asked.

"Is the Young Lady referring to the books on taboo against Dao? Yes, in fact, it does," the maid thought, then replied respectfully.

The girl covered her mouth and chuckled seductively, the bell-like laughter enough to transform any man into a wolf.

"Go and find this person and bring them to me. I would like to know what gives them the courage to enrage Heavenly Dao," she ordered.

"Yes." The maid bowed and disappeared, leaving the room empty.

The girl stopped paying attention to what was going on and returned to her lounging.

[The Zhao Family Compound – Family Head Villa]

A three-meter-tall and robust middle-aged man was standing outside the Family Head's villa, with five other family members kneeling on one knee behind him respectfully. The middle-aged man was Zhao Ming, the head of the Zhao family.

He clasped his hands behind his back, facing away from the people kneeling behind him arrogantly and unhurriedly.

He then burst into laughter.

"HAHAHA! It seems the heavens really favor my Zhao family! First, we gained more Grandmasters and are about to dominate the city. Next, the heavens send me a peerless treasure to strengthen my Zhao family!" he said after laughing for a bit.

"Congratulations to the Family Head for winning the treasure and strengthening the family! Family Head is no doubt the number one leader in the family!" the five congratulated loudly.

Zhao Ming smiled. He was obviously pleased by their flattery.

"Go. Take all my family's soldiers, find that treasure, and bring it to me no matter what. Oh, and if anyone gets in your way, just kill them," he said, then waved them away dismissively.

"YES, FAMILY HEAD!" they echoed, and they started running out to execute the order. Zhao Ming looked toward the horizon expectantly.

[Meanwhile, in the Lin Family – Lin Feng's Courtyard]

Lin Feng's body shivered at the biting cold aura that filled his body. He suddenly felt a terrifying, palpitating aura locking onto him. He looked outside the window to see the sky darkened with blood-colored lightning. The air was filled with faint killing intent everywhere, and all of it was directed at him.

"What the hell is that thing?" he said in horror, feeling the aura locked onto him as if he would be killed if he made any unnecessary moves.

"What the hell is going on, System?"

[DING!

THE HOST'S CULTIVATION METHOD DOES NOT ORIGINATE FROM THIS WORLD, SO NATURALLY THIS WORLD REJECTS, OPPOSES, AND IS ATTEMPTING TO DESTROY IT. THE HOST JUST HAPPENS TO BE WIELDING IT.]

"Damn it, what dog-shit luck," Lin Feng cursed, then took a deep breath to calm down.

"System, can you isolate me from the heavens?" he asked after steadying himself.

[YES, HOST.]

"GOOD, GOOD. PLEASE DO."

[DING!

IT WAS DETECTED THAT HOST WISHES TO ISOLATE THE EFFECT. YES/NO?]

Lin Feng mentally confirmed. Suddenly, the intense aura disappeared, and the blackened lightning filling the sky started to dissipate.

"Hu… hu…"

He panted in relief when the terrifying aura that made him feel like an ant disappeared. He wiped the cold sweat off his face, grateful to have survived a disaster.

But before he could relax—
