"You three will be having extra hours of service..." the officer said, his voice flat as he looked down at Malo, Bambi, and Faye.
All three of them looked like trash after the fighting. Dirt covered their clothes, their hair was a mess, and red marks were already swelling up on their skin.
"Why include me?" Malo snapped instantly, holding a hand up to his face. "They were the ones who started fighting... I am a victim here..."
The dude had only been trying to help Faye during the fight. He had jumped right in between the two girls, trying to pull them apart, only to catch two heavy blows right to the face. Now he was standing there on the curb with blood trickling down from his nose just for trying to help.
This was exact reason why Malo usually liked to stay away from violence. Whenever he saw danger popping up, he was either hiding behind a tree or completely MIA. But if the fight involved his best friend Faye, he had no choice but to throw himself into the middle of it.
