Maverick had handled a fair share of drugs in his lifetime, whether legal or illegal.
Right now, though, as he stared at the tramadol tablets, he noticed a slight difference in them compared to the packet from which they had been taken out.
His gaze narrowed at the medication and he attempted to move closer to get a better view of it when Gavin spoke again.
"Do you intend to send him a message?" Maverick returned his gaze to his underboss who sat back on the bed after taking the pill.
"Not yet," He answered, his mind slightly drifting. Maverick gave him the details of the brutal killing of his men and he observed how Gavin grimaced every now and then.
"I want to see how far he'd go for the ledger. It's clear he wants it for other reasons best known to just him."
