At the office
Qinran was working quietly at her desk.
Sister Ming walked over."Hey Qinran, let's go out for lunch."
Qinran shook her head slightly."No, I can't today, Sister Ming. I have to pick up Luoli. The nanny I hired is on leave today."
"Oh? Then why don't you pick up Luoli and we'll go together? I haven't seen the kid in quite a while."
Qinran thought for a moment."…Alright."
A few hours later
"Shall we go?" Qinran asked, walking over to Sister Ming's desk.
"Yeah, sure. Just wait a moment."
"Okay."
Ten minutes later they left the building.
"You should bring Luoli over to the company sometime," Sister Ming said.
"Why?"
"Don't you know? The company is hosting an event soon. Employees can bring their children."
"Really?" Qinran looked surprised. "Then I should bring him. I haven't taken him anywhere in the past few months."
At the kindergarten gate
"Mom!"
A little boy ran out the gate.
Qinran crouched down and hugged him.
"Did you have fun?"
"Yes! And Zhou Fei brought cupcakes for the whole class."
"That's great." Qinran smiled. "Oh. say hi to Sister Ming." She gestured toward the woman standing nearby.
"Hi, Sister Ming."
"Hello, little kiddo."
"Let's go eat."
At the restaurant
Qinran picked up the menu.
"Two bowls of noodles—one small and one big. Sister Ming, order whatever you like. My treat."
Sister Ming raised an eyebrow."Oh? What made you so generous today?"
"No reason. I just felt like it."
Later back at the company
Qinran entered the office carrying Luoli.
They were on the 7th floor.
A new employee looked over.
"Miss Ran… is this your son?"
"Yes. His name is Luoli."
She placed him on a chair beside her desk.
For a while he played quietly while she worked.
After some time he rubbed his eyes.
"Mom… I'm sleepy." He yawned.
Qinran picked him up and held him on her lap.
"Alright. Go to sleep."
He hugged her and quickly fell asleep.
Ten minutes later, she gently placed him back on the chair and continued working.
At the top floor
"CEO, here is the report on the ARPG game we are developing."
"Put it on the table. I'll visit the department in person."
"Yes, sir."
The CEO stood up and headed for the 7th floor.
Inside the elevator he muttered quietly "…Qinran."
7th floor
He entered the office.
His eyes immediately noticed a sleeping child near Qinran's desk.
A child? Could it be hers… or maybe a nephew?
He glanced around and saw Sister Ming nearby.
It might be her friend's child…
He watched for a moment.
"…Hmm."
Then he quietly turned and walked away.
