Chapter 29 - Black Blood

*RED MOON'S POV*

It shone like it wanted to hurt my eyes.

The first time I saw Isaiah's mom, The Empress, my attention first went to the shinning gem in her hand.

'Golden eyes, huh?' I thought. Seeing it again after years reminded me of the time when it was first made. It was basically white with as radiance as bright as the full moon.

I wanted to ask her to give me the Golden Eyes but from the report that Alysaa gave Isaiah, it seemed the Golden Eyes is broken.

Broken? Golden Eyes? Joking, aren't you?

So, I wasn't sure if it would react to me the same as it used to.

"Is there something wrong with me, Almighty Red Moon?" The Empress asked me. I must have stared at Golden Eyes for too long.

And that's when I actually looked at her face.

She looked nothing like Isaiah.

She actually looked quite the opposite of Isaiah. But, she carried this certain type of presence about herself which reminded me of those kind of rulers. The ones who has halo that shone like sun behind their heads.

"Nothing really. But, may I ask if it is the Golden Eyes in your hands?" I used the other voice.

The voice that made me unrecognize myself but still reminded me that it is a part of me.

I never wanted it though.

"Oh, yes. It is the Golden Eyes." She replied

"Can you give it to me for a second?"

She quietly handed me Golden Eyes.

When I first held it it felt different. Like it doesn't want to be in my hands. But slowly, it became the same as it was those years ago. And maybe that's when a thought struck me.

Purification? Golden Eyes just needs purification?

"Wait- NO!" I heard the screaming Empress's voice before I saw my own hand. My hand was covered with Black Blood.

But, it wasn't my blood.

I would have known if it were my blood.

"Everyone stay back." I said as I took Golden Eyes out of my hand and held it in the other one.

"You are bleeding! Keep Golden Eyes away." Isaiah said as he came closer to me. That idiot never learns.

"It is not my blood," I said "It is coming from Golden Eyes."

Each person looked as if I had spoke the most unbelievable. I just sighed.

"Isaiah, take this." I said as I gave him the Golden Eyes.

Golden Eyes continued to bleed in Isaiah hand too.

Empress and Alysaa looked confused. Yet, Isaiah managed to look even more confused than those two.

"I injected magic inside Golden Eyes. That's why it is reacting like that." I said.

"Is it even possible?- No actually what type of magic?" Isaiah asked

"Purification Magic."

"So, Golden Eyes is not broken?" Alysaa whispered to herself as she ran to grab some paper to record it.

"Yes, Golden Eyes is not broken. It just needs purification." I answered her.

"How did you know that?" Empress asked.

"How would I not know? I played quite a part in creating that."

I could feel the tension in the room shift. They seemed to realise just how old I am.

Even though I don't know myself.

"Just... How old are you?" Isaiah asked. His eyes was dazzling for some reason.

"Is there a reason why I should tell you?"

"I am your soulmate, you know?" Then he gave me those puppy eyes that he thinks I am not immune to, apparently.

I just sighed and said "Golden Eyes magic will come to its original state once it fully gets purified. Seal it off somewhere right now because if you don't then there is a high chance that all of you would be killed."

Empress and Alysaa nodded then dashed off the room with Golden Eyes.

I looked at Isaiah again and what I saw could only be described as an adult child throwing useless tantrum.

"You knew I would be scared, right? You knew that! I almost thought that it was your blood!" Small droplets of tears streamed down Isaiah's face.

"Isaiah, do you think I am made of glass? I am not fragile."

"I am not saying you are fragile. It is just that the idea of you getting hurt also hurts me."

This stupid little kid really is emotionally messed up.

"It shouldn't, though."

"Why? I am your soulmate!"

"You are my soulmate, not my lover."

Here, this is what I should have said from the start.

Isaiah's droplets turned into rivers as he dashed off. He took that in a bad way.

*ISAIAH'S POV*

You are my soulmate, not my lover.

soulmate, not my lover.

not my lover.

my lover.

lover.

I was crying for reasons that I shouldn't be. Red Moon had every right to say that. We actually never had a talk about that.

But, a mere human like me tried to reach the sky. To make the moon my lover.

I wiped my tears as I opened the book.

Legacy of Chand.

Three months ago if this same situation happened. I would have screamed or maybe even kill my myself.

But, reading these page made me realise something.

Something that their is no way that Red Moon would know.

No way he would know about the screams and the blood that I see whenever I see him.

They say that it is the normal to see the flashbacks.

Flashbacks to past life.

Past life where only blood and swords existed between me and Red Moon.

And that life was vivid in front of me when I saw the blood.

Just like the blood that came out of Red Moon in past life.
