Chapter 65 - Chapter 64: Rage

Gin and Ratan.

The two brothers.

Gin was the elder brother while Ratan was the younger one.

Gin was ten years old.

Ratan was five.

They belonged to a wealthy family.

Their lineage, however, was a secret.

More precisely, they were living under a false family name.

Gin was strong and possessed natural leadership.

Ratan, on the other hand, depended on Gin for many things.

He was weaker and lacked confidence.

Most of his time was spent at home sleeping or avoiding others.

Deep down, he viewed himself differently from everyone else.

A coward.

Someone worthless.

Meanwhile, Gin spent countless hours training and learning new things.

He had every quality a warrior could ask for.

He was proud.

Disciplined.

Unyielding.

Whenever he wasn't training, he spent his time encouraging Ratan.

Then came spring.

The season that changed everything.

The event that created a monster.

Ratan was running home from the Warrior School.

As he approached the mansion, he noticed blood on the entrance door.

The guards stationed outside were lying motionless.

Dead.

The sight of blood made him dizzy.

He vomited.

Then he ran inside.

Toward the corridor.

Toward home.

[Ratan]: Brother! Mother! Father!

No response.

He searched frantically.

Room after room.

Hall after hall.

Then he saw Gin.

Relief flooded his heart.

For a moment.

The closer he got, the more horrified he became.

His strong brother.

The one who never cried.

The one who never bent.

The proud warrior.

Was kneeling on the floor.

Tears streamed down his face.

That alone was enough.

Ratan understood.

He didn't need to see anything else.

His legs gave out.

He collapsed to his knees.

A scream tore out of his throat.

[Ratan]: WAAAAAHHHHHH!!! NOOOOO!!! MOTHER!!! FATHER!!!

Soon, soldiers arrived.

Blood stained their armor.

They took both boys away.

A large portion of the town had been massacred.

Their family was merely one more victim.

The brothers were brought before Grandor.

Two choices were presented.

Accept slavery and rot away inside Ruin Society.

Become one of her guards and live in luxury.

Gin chose the first option.

Of course he did.

He would never bow his head.

Never surrender.

He looked at Ratan.

He expected his younger brother to make the same choice.

Hope filled his eyes.

That hope was crushed.

[Ratan]: I accept becoming your guard, Majesty.

Something inside Gin shattered.

He lunged at Ratan.

His hands wrapped around his brother's neck.

[Gin]: You traitor!!!You betrayed us?!!

The soldiers dragged Gin away.

Kicking.

Screaming.

Fighting.

He was thrown into Ruin Society.

Ratan remained behind.

From that day onward, he served Grandor.

He carried out every order.

The elimination of rebels.

The execution of innocents.

Anything.

Everything.

Yet deep inside, Ratan had already made a decision.

He would become powerful.

He would never depend on Gin again.

He would never hesitate.

Never waver.

Never stop.

No matter what he had to do.

No matter how deep he had to descend.

Even if he had to walk through hell itself.

He would climb high enough to stand beside Grandor.

And then...

He would stab her in the back.

For years, Gin believed Ratan had truly become a traitor.

Until one fateful night.

Ratan came to meet him.

By then, Ratan had already become one of the Three Elite Guards.

He possessed enough authority to move freely.

That night, he explained everything.

His plan.

His resolve.

His sacrifice.

For the first time in years, Gin understood.

He finally saw the burden Ratan had carried alone.

Gin embraced his younger brother.

Memories of their childhood resurfaced.

[Ratan]: We will free everyone, brother We will end Grandor's tyranny! For sure!

Ratan said with a smile.

[Gin]: Of course you will. I believe you.

The two laughed.

The two smiled.

For a brief moment, they were brothers again.

Then came Yash.

His arrival ignited hope inside Ratan's heart.

Ratan secretly met him after fooling the surveillance teams.

Yash devised plans and passed them to Gin through Ratan.

He prepared countermeasures against Grandor.

He learned about Kuon and Zesta.

Everything.

The pieces were finally moving.

We can't back down now.

Victory is ours.

Those were the final words Ratan shared with Gin.

The words from their last meeting.

A meeting before Ratan's death.

The brothers belonged to a lineage that had opposed Grandor centuries ago.

Their parents had tried to hide that truth.

In the end, they failed.

Their bloodline possessed a unique trait.

A terrifying suicidal power-up.

One Grandor desperately wanted to exploit for herself.

Yet until the very end...

She never managed to claim it.

Back to the present,

Some Silver Guards had successfully entered Ruin Society.

The breach from the sea route had begun.

Gin's eyes were closed.

Death felt closer than ever.

He was severely weakened.

Two massive slash wounds.

A sword wound through the chest.

And the illness.

Gin (thinking): I will make sure your sacrifice wasn't in vain, little brother.

He exhaled slowly.

Memories surfaced.

The death of his parents.

The massacre.

The tyranny.

The fall of the warriors from his generation.

The suffering of his brother.

The loneliness Ratan endured.

The children forced to grow up inside Ruin Society.

Every injustice.

Every tragedy.

Every scream.

Then he remembered Grandor's laugh.

That was the final trigger.

Steam began rising from Gin's lean body.

His eyes opened.

What filled them was not determination.

Not courage.

Not hope.

Pure rage.

Pure revenge.

Dark Energy erupted from his body without restraint.

The sheer pressure was enough to terrify anyone who looked at him.

He stepped forward.

Everyone within fifteen meters vanished.

Erased.

He took another step.

More Bronze Guards disappeared.

Several Silver Guards attempted to enter Ruin Society.

Gin swung his blade.

The slash bisected them instantly.

The residual force continued onward.

The gigantic wall behind them split in half.

Only the Silver Guards who had already crossed deeper into Ruin Society survived.

Tensu appeared beside Gin.

His sword aimed directly at Gin's torso.

Before the strike could land, Gin's fist connected with Tensu's face.

Boom.

Tensu was launched over a mile away.

The moment he crashed into the sea, the surrounding water exploded upward.

Gin moved forward.

Driven entirely by accumulated rage.

His hands began glowing.

[Gin]: O Angel...Goddess One-Winged...Grant me your power.

For a brief moment, it felt as though Gin had grabbed the air itself.

Then the ocean answered.

A massive wave rose from the shoreline.

It continued growing.

Larger.

Higher.

More terrifying.

Soon it towered over five hundred meters high.

The wave swallowed battleships whole.

Fortunately for the Ganas, they were surprisingly excellent swimmers.

Tensu rose from the sea.

Several wounds covered his body.

Irin stood up as well.

Both advanced toward Gin.

Together.

Their synchronized attacks finally bore fruit.

Gin lost his right eye.

Yet Irin paid an even greater price.

She entered the offensive range of Gin's blade.

A fatal mistake.

The slash cut through her.

Her story ended there.

Meanwhile, Gaja had already defeated Wern.

He rushed toward Gin's side.

Intent on helping.

The battlefield had descended into chaos.

The war had become fiercer than ever.

Soon Gaja would witness a power born purely from rage.

A sight he would never forget.

To be continued...
