Back at the academy, Daniel was still nowhere to be found and because of that, Elan was visibly troubled. For the first time, his smile faded. In his ears, noise rushed in, causing a slight headache which made him see things which were not supposed to be there.
"Daniel?"
He called for the last time before leaving the classroom.
Where did Daniel go? Why did Daniel leave? Why? Daniel was a student who never left the classroom, even to the point he was once called 'the un-leaving genius.' Questions popped continuously in Elan's mind like the night stars in the vast sky; blinking but never leaving.
Ever since they were in the Class of 5, Elan and Daniel were best of friends. They both have been hailed as geniuses throughout their school years. However, Daniel was weak, physically. In fact, so weak that an accurate description of him was 'house husband,' and this literally was no joke.
90% of the school populations are mostly commoners, those whose minds are set on the future. That was normal except that there was a 10% born in middle society. However, the current of class of 10 are an exception. Daniel was a genius and his history shows multiple records of him rage-baiting those 10%.
About a year ago, Daniel made a bet. The bet he made? No one knows. Elan doesn't know, the class doesn't know, the school doesn't know yet they all know he made a bet. Thoughts rushed in Elan's head as he stormed through the hallway in search of Daniel.
The time for fitness was approaching, and Elan knew time was certainly running up. Either he misses a class to search for his friend or attend the class without finding what Daniel was currently doing. Elan took glances of each room in the school's main building, classes, storage rooms, restrooms, even the teacher's lounge, yet found nothing.
Then, it hit him. Where was the only place that was lonely at each time of the day?
'The school's backyard' he thought.
Quickly, he set his pace outside.
"Daniel, are you ready?!"
On the school's field, Daniel stood, face upwards, he looked serious as he clenched his fist. Beside him, a man standing 6ft, hiding a semi-perfect figure in training wear, and having lemon eyes that peered directly into Daniel's soul. This individual was none other than…
"Sir Vack?"
It was Teacher Vack, the school fitness instructor. Also, he was the rightful husband of Red.
Elan's mouth curled a smile. 'Daniel was safe.'
With his worries settled, he walked away. However, neither did he ask, nor did he wonder, why is a genius like Daniel taking a fitness class?
The day went by, various individuals known as teachers visited the class, all repeating the same thing all over again; they were either irritated, angered or spent their precious time talking about the class past. It got so out of hand that Moonlight had thoughts of shutting down the school. "How is this place better than our backyard?"
From his experience, Victor was actually the only meaningful teacher.
Daniel was absent, yet no one batted an eye. They all knew that even if he doesn't learn, he would still do better than them. Then, at exactly noon, the landings of the heels of a special individual walked through the hallway, on a path to Elan's class.
Smooth long brown hair cascaded from her head to her knees, fair skin which glimmered in the sunlight, blue eyes glowing like the bright afternoon sky, and a presence entrancing all who stole a glance. Striking a black suit, and a tight skirt which covered her soft legs, plus walking with a confidence that could be life threatening.
This was, Suje Elro, the one who captures the eyes of students, the source of jealousy, the only teacher that can stand head-to-head with Rociv Victor, the highest paid teacher in the entire school, and also, the one and only religion teacher.
Gracefully, she held the doorknob, but before she could open it, a classmate finished the work. "A goddess shouldn't be opening doors," said the background character.
"Oh, thank you." Suje said, patting the character's head.
Thereafter, she made her way to the class's podium, carrying a vibrant smile that caused all eyes to watch her walk.
Captured by her presence, Elan decided to drop a fun-fact into Moonlight's eyes, "Did you know? Miss Suje and Mr. Victor are the only teachers Class of 10 genuinely listen to."
"…"
Throughout the period, she did not teach, her warm hands only picked a piece of chalk. On the board, she wrote the entire scheme for the term. The class took notes; only then did Moonlight realize that he needed to get some notebook of some sort. His could capture anything from just a glance but, an intuition told him he needed to not be special.
"Hey," Moonlight whispered to Elan. "Where can I get books?"
