Chapter 165 - Konoha’s Fifth Hokage [165]

Cradling the inconsolable, wailing infant in his arms, Natsuhiko flickered through space and reappeared in front of the Hokage's office. As he looked down at the child he held, his thoughts wavered for a moment, drifting into a rare sense of disbelief.

This was the reincarnation of Asura—the child destined to become a savior of the future. And right now, that very boy was in his hands.

Of course, the idea of harming such a child never even crossed his mind. What unsettled him instead was how unpredictable fate could be. Naruto should have been returned by Minato Namikaze… yet somehow, through a twist of circumstance, he had ended up in Natsuhiko's care.

Did this count as a major divergence in the events of the Nine-Tails incident?

Shaking his head lightly, Natsuhiko pushed aside the thought. As he rushed toward the Hokage's office, he simultaneously extended his sensory abilities, carefully examining Naruto's condition.

Just as he expected, there was no trace of power within the boy.

Perhaps Asura's chakra had yet to awaken. From what Natsuhiko remembered, that power only underwent a true transformation when it resonated with Indra's chakra—only then would it evolve into something greater.

"…No point dwelling on things that don't matter right now."

He withdrew his sensory perception, his speed increasing sharply as his focus returned to the present.

"First, I'll return Naruto. Then I'll handle the rest of the mission."

With that decision made, Natsuhiko accelerated even further. At the same time, chakra surged rapidly through his body.

The moment he stepped into the Hokage building, a puff of smoke burst forth—his shadow clone had already formed. In an instant, it vanished into the night sky using the Flying Thunder God Technique.

...

Inside the Hokage office, the Third Hokage sat in a relaxed posture behind his desk, handling the village's administrative affairs. A pipe rested between his lips, releasing steady curls of smoke to keep his mind sharp.

With Minato away, all responsibilities had naturally fallen back onto him.

The workload of a Hokage was immense—neglect it even for a single day, and it would pile up like a mountain. Recently, Minato had been entirely preoccupied with Kushina's childbirth, leaving everything else to his predecessor.

And Sarutobi Hiruzen had honored his promise. He would not take advantage of Kushina's condition to make any questionable moves. Every controversial proposal had been set aside, while the simpler matters he handled personally without hesitation.

Then, suddenly, a chill crept into his heart.

He slowly removed the pipe from his mouth and turned his gaze toward the window. Outside, the night sky was calm—a full moon hung high, stars scattered sparsely across the darkness. The village of Konoha appeared as peaceful as ever.

After a moment, he shook his head faintly.

"…Perhaps I'm overthinking things."

But just then, the rapid sound of footsteps shattered the silence. Before he could react further, the office door burst open as Natsuhiko rushed inside.

At once, the ANBU hidden in the shadows emerged, weapons drawn, surrounding him in an instant.

"Stand down," Hiruzen said firmly, recognizing him at a glance. "Nightingale? Why are you back? Weren't you—"

"The situation has changed, Hokage-sama," Natsuhiko cut in without hesitation, still holding Naruto tightly. "We were attacked. The assailant is an Uchiha—not one from the village. He specializes in space-time ninjutsu… and he has already taken Lady Kushina."

"…What did you say?!"

Hiruzen shot to his feet, fury flashing across his face.

"Kushina has been taken? Where is the Fourth Hokage? What were you all doing?!"

"The enemy used Naruto as leverage—this child," Natsuhiko replied, lifting the infant slightly. "He forced both the Fourth Hokage and me to focus on rescuing Naruto. In that moment, he separated us and abducted Lady Kushina. His objective… is most likely the Nine-Tails."

Natsuhiko's words made Hiruzen grind his teeth, anger burning in his chest—but in the end, he forced it down.

The moment he heard that Naruto had been used as bait, he understood how dire the situation truly was.

After all… that was Minato Namikaze's child.

Anyone, when faced with their own child in mortal danger, would act without hesitation—throwing everything aside to save them.

Even Hiruzen himself would have done no differently.

For that reason, Hiruzen did not blame Minato—nor could he bring himself to blame Natsuhiko. In that situation, Natsuhiko had no choice but to follow Minato's lead and act accordingly.

The one who truly filled him with anger was that damned attacker—the Uchiha who had appeared out of nowhere.

Suppressing the surge of fury within him, Hiruzen took a long breath before finally asking in a low, steady voice, "Then… what is the Fourth Hokage's plan?"

"He intends to have the child returned home and will personally go to rescue Lady Kushina," Natsuhiko replied calmly. "He also said that he trusts your judgment, Hokage-sama. At this point, the village must rely on your decisions."

"I see." Hiruzen nodded gravely, his mind already moving. "Then we act at once. Return the child immediately, and fire a signal flare to gather all Konoha shinobi. We will prepare a counterattack."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Natsuhiko inclined his head before stepping forward and placing Naruto into Hiruzen's arms.

As he looked at the infant now held by the Third Hokage, Natsuhiko let out a quiet sigh inwardly.

Something terrifying… something utterly catastrophic… was about to unfold.

"Go on… Nine-Tails."

Uchiha Obito gazed at the ferocious beast before him, its monstrous features twisted into a savage snarl. A faint, satisfied nod followed as he began to walk away at an unhurried pace.

Then, a subtle sound rose from behind him.

He stopped.

Though weak to the point of collapse, Kushina Uzumaki still forced herself upright, leaning against a jagged rock for support. Even in such a state, her resilience was astonishing—far beyond that of ordinary people.

It was enough to draw a flicker of acknowledgment.

"As expected of the Uzumaki clan… such formidable vitality."

Obito did not turn around at first, his voice remaining low and indifferent.

"To survive even after a tailed beast has been extracted… impressive. However…"

He paused.

Then, slowly, he turned back. Beneath the cold glow of the moon, his crimson Sharingan gleamed with an eerie, terrifying light.

"Since you were the Nine-Tails' jinchūriki, dying at its hands would be… a fitting end."

The moment his words fell, the Sharingan within the Nine-Tails' eyes synchronized with his own.

Under his control, the colossal beast raised its claw—and brought it crashing down with devastating force.

The impact shattered everything in its path, reducing stone pillars and the surrounding terrain to rubble in an instant.

Yet Obito seemed dissatisfied. Tilting his head slightly, he glanced toward a distant tree before giving a faint, almost indifferent shake of his head.

"So you've come?" he murmured, letting out a quiet sigh. "As expected of the Yellow Flash."

Atop a tree, Minato Namikaze had appeared at some unknown moment, Kushina cradled securely in his arms.

His expression was grim—painfully so—as his gaze swept over the Nine-Tails in the distance and then down to Kushina, whose condition had deteriorated to its absolute limit.

Anyone could imagine the turmoil raging within him.

But as a man, as a husband, he knew he could not afford to let those emotions surface now. He had to remain calm—absolutely calm.

"…Minato…"

Kushina's voice was weak, yet filled with desperate relief, as though she had finally found salvation. Her fingers clutched tightly at his arm as she asked anxiously,

"Naruto… is Naruto safe?"

For a woman who had just become a mother, nothing in the world mattered more than her child.

"Yes. Don't worry—I had Natsuhiko take him back," Minato replied, forcing a gentle smile onto his face.

It was faint, strained—but it was enough to ease her heart, if only slightly.

"Minato, you have to stop that man—and the Nine-Tails. He's going to… he's going to destroy Konoha!"

Now that she knew her child was safe, Kushina spoke urgently, determined to pass on everything she knew.

Minato cast a cold glance over his shoulder, his eyes locking onto both the Nine-Tails and the one controlling it. Though he said nothing, their images were etched firmly into his mind.

In the next instant, the Flying Thunder God Technique activated.

Their figures vanished together.

Obito watched it all in silence before letting out a quiet chuckle.

"Gone again, huh… Well, it doesn't matter anymore."

His gaze shifted toward the distant village.

"At this point, all that's left… is to head for Konoha."

The Sharingan spun within his eye, its power binding the massive Nine-Tails under his control as it began moving toward Konoha.

A flash of light cut through the darkness, and in the next instant, Minato Namikaze appeared inside his home, Kushina cradled carefully in his arms.

He moved quietly into the bedroom, his steps gentle as he laid her down upon the bed. Perhaps because Natsuhiko didn't have the spatial coordinates to his home, Naruto had yet to arrive.

Still, Minato trusted him.

Natsuhiko might harbor great ambition—ambition vast enough to unsettle most—but after all their time working together, Minato had come to believe in him. And at a moment like this, that trust mattered more than ever.

Drawing in a slow breath, Minato looked down at Kushina's frail form, his heart tightening with an overwhelming sorrow.

But now was not the time for grief.

There were things he had to do.

As both a Hokage and a husband, he knew he could not allow himself to falter—not now, not when everything depended on him.

Lowering his head slightly, he spoke in a soft voice, "Rest well. When you wake up… everything will be better."

Kushina lay weakly on the bed, tears glimmering faintly in her eyes. Her expression was a complicated mixture of emotions—fear, relief, reluctance. She bit her lower lip, doing everything she could to hold back the tears threatening to fall.

Minato watched her for a moment, his hands clenching silently at his sides, before turning toward the wardrobe.

He pulled it open and draped the white Hokage cloak over his shoulders. Under the lamplight, the bold characters—"Fourth Hokage"—stood out with striking clarity.

"…Minato…" Kushina called softly, not turning to face him. "Are you leaving… already?"

"Yes." He nodded, his expression resolute. "Saving you and Naruto is my duty as a husband and a father. Now that you're safe… it's time for me to fulfill my duty as Hokage."

His voice carried no hesitation.

"Stay here and wait. Naruto will be home soon."

As he spoke, Minato suddenly sensed footsteps approaching outside his door. From the chakra signature alone, he recognized it immediately—it was the Third Hokage.

A faint smile appeared on his face once more.

"Looks like Naruto has arrived. Get some rest—I'll be back soon."

"Be careful on your way…"

"Don't worry," he replied, his tone light yet firm. "I'll be back in no time. After all… I'm the Hokage."

That night in Konoha, the moonlight was cold and brilliant.

To the villagers, it was nothing more than an ordinary, peaceful evening.

Lights glowed warmly throughout the streets as people came and went. Laughter spilled from taverns, mingling with the sounds of couples bickering in their homes and the casual chatter of passersby.

Countless voices blended together into a lively, harmonious hum.

And yet, beneath that calm surface, a few shinobi with sharper instincts began to sense that something was… off.

"Guy, don't you feel it? Something's wrong. The air's felt colder since a moment ago."

On one of Konoha's streets, Kakashi—his face partially hidden behind a mask—looked up at the sky, a trace of unease flickering in his eyes.

He hadn't had many missions that day, and given the significance of the occasion, he had planned to take it easy… to quietly wait for the arrival of a new life.

Instead, he had been dragged out by Might Guy, leaving him with no choice but to follow along with a weary expression.

Even so, his thoughts had never strayed far from Kushina.

And yet, at this very moment, an inexplicable sense of unease crept over him. The village still appeared peaceful, unchanged—but something felt wrong.

He couldn't explain why.

But years of experience, walking the line between life and death, told him one thing with absolute certainty—

Something big was about to happen.

Unfortunately, the man in the green jumpsuit standing across from him clearly didn't share his concern.

"Cold? You've got to be kidding!" Guy laughed, glancing around before grinning brightly. "I don't feel anything like that. And don't try to change the subject—today, I'm definitely going to settle our score!"

"…."

Kakashi frowned slightly, ignoring Guy's enthusiasm as he remained lost in thought.

No matter how he looked at it…

Something about tonight just wasn't right.

...

On the other side of the village, within the Uchiha clan's district, an eerie stillness hung in the air that night. The compound was unusually quiet, its members nowhere to be seen—as if they had all gathered elsewhere, leaving the place hollow and abandoned.

In the clan head's courtyard, a child of no more than five years old sat holding his newborn baby brother.

Suddenly, he lifted his head.

A cold, oppressive unease crept into his heart without warning, like a shadow spreading through his chest.

"What… is this feeling? What's about to happen?"

Uchiha Itachi frowned slightly, his young face reflecting a maturity far beyond his years. At the same time, the infant in his arms seemed to sense the strange tension in the air and began to cry loudly.

Startled, Itachi quickly rocked him gently, his voice soft and reassuring.

"It's okay… don't cry. No matter what happens, big brother will protect you."

Perhaps it was those words, or perhaps something deeper, but the baby gradually calmed, his cries fading into quiet whimpers before stopping altogether.

Still, the unease remained.

"What's going on…? Why does it feel like this… and why, of all times, are Father and Mother not here…?"

At that very moment, in a relatively remote corner of Konoha, a figure clad in a black cloak appeared silently.

It was Obito.

He glanced around briefly before forming a rapid sequence of hand seals. Chakra surged violently within him, gathering at an astonishing rate.

Then, with force, he slammed his hand onto the ground.

A summoning array spread outward beneath his palm.

"Summoning Jutsu… Nine-Tails!"

ROAR—!

A thunderous, earth-shaking howl erupted from the outskirts of Konoha, accompanied by a violent storm of chakra that tore through everything in its path. Nearby houses were instantly reduced to splinters, shattered into fragments as if they were nothing more than dry wood.

Even in this relatively remote area, villagers were caught in the shockwave—lifted off their feet and hurled into the distance.

Amid the rising dust and debris, a colossal beast slowly emerged.

Its form towered like a mountain beneath the moonlight, its nine massive tails thrashing as it lifted its head and roared toward the heavens. Its crimson eyes burned with a savage, bloodthirsty glow that sent chills through anyone who beheld it.

"W-What… what is that?"

"Don't tell me… it can't be…"

"It's the Nine-Tails! The Nine-Tails has appeared!"

No one knew who shouted it first, but the name spread like wildfire. Panic erupted instantly as villagers fled in terror, running as if their lives depended on it—wishing desperately for more legs to carry them faster.

"Nine-Tails… begin." Standing atop a nearby structure, Obito issued his command with cold indifference.

At once, the beast responded.

A terrifying surge of chakra burst skyward, its nine tails whipping through the air as if tearing apart the very heavens. Everything around it—buildings, trees, stone—was obliterated in an instant.

It was like a primordial monster descended upon the world, destroying everything it could reach.

As people fled, massive chunks of debris rained down upon them, crushing some where they stood. Screams of agony and cries of terror intertwined, filling the air as the entire village plunged into chaos.

"…That's… the Nine-Tails?"

Natsuhiko, running alongside Hiruzen and the others toward Minato's residence, suddenly halted mid-stride as his eyes caught sight of the distant, towering figure.

Even from afar, its presence was overwhelming.

Hiruzen's heart sank at the sight.

He knew, in that instant, that a disaster of unimaginable scale had arrived.

The Nine-Tails—the most fearsome of all tailed beasts, and at the same time, Konoha's greatest strategic weapon.

Now it had broken free.

The destruction it could bring upon the village was beyond measure. One could easily imagine the devastation that would follow if it were allowed to rampage unchecked.

And worse still…

This was likely the first time since the founding of Konoha that the Nine-Tails had entered the village itself.

A catastrophe unlike any before had begun.

"Hokage-sama, it seems the situation has become far more troublesome than we anticipated," Natsuhiko said quickly, standing at Hiruzen's side. "With the Nine-Tails unleashed, we don't even know how the Fourth Hokage is faring. But compared to supporting him… the safety of Konoha must come first."

Hiruzen nodded solemnly. Things were unfolding in the exact direction they had most hoped to avoid.

And more than anything, he understood that he had to make a decision—immediately. Faced with such a crisis, there was no room for hesitation.

Compared to the survival of the village… even Minato's safety had to come second.

"Everyone, listen carefully!" Hiruzen's voice rang out with authority. "Organize teams at once to evacuate all non-combatants. At the same time, mobilize every available shinobi in the village for battle!"

"Yes, sir!" the surrounding ninja responded in unison.

"Owl, Nightingale—you two will head to the ANBU."

Turning toward Natsuhiko and his companion, Hiruzen quickly handed a document to Owl.

"Use my authorization to contact Takumi Murashima. All ANBU units are to be deployed immediately."

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

Natsuhiko raised an eyebrow slightly at the order, but he didn't hesitate. He and Owl both nodded at once.

"And one more thing," Hiruzen added, as if recalling something crucial. "Organize the evacuation of the younger generation of ninja as well. They are not to approach the Nine-Tails under any circumstances."

Only after issuing that final command did he let out a quiet sigh, his gaze shifting back to Natsuhiko.

"…Nightingale, I should be sending you away as well," he admitted, his tone carrying a trace of reluctance. "But your strength is too valuable. I cannot afford to lose it at a time like this, so—"

"Hokage-sama."

Before he could finish, Natsuhiko cut him off.

"I am an ANBU operative. This is exactly what I'm meant to do."

There was no trace of his usual easygoing smile now—only seriousness. This was not a moment for levity.

And truthfully, he had no intention of retreating anyway.

He knew very well that Hiruzen would implement measures to protect the next generation of ninja. In another timeline, Kakashi, Guy, and their peers would all be sent outside the village, sealed away from the battlefield and kept from taking part in the disaster.

Kakashi hadn't failed to help Minato because he didn't want to—he simply hadn't been given the chance.

As for how things would unfold now, Natsuhiko wasn't entirely sure. But one thing was clear—he had to be involved. Without this moment, too many of his plans would never come to fruition.

"…Then I'll leave it to you."

Hiruzen nodded firmly. In one swift motion, he removed his Hokage cloak, revealing the black combat armor he had worn for years beneath it.

That armor had accompanied him from his youth until now. He had thought he would never wear it in battle again. This time, he had only put it on symbolically, in preparation for Kushina's childbirth.

And yet, fate had other plans.

"…So it still has its use."

"Move out!"

"Yes, sir!"

"Is that… the Nine-Tails?"

On one of Konoha's streets, Might Guy froze for a brief moment at the sight of the colossal beast in the distance. Then, suddenly, his expression lit up with excitement.

"This is exactly the kind of opponent my youthful blood has been waiting for! Let me—Might Guy—face you!"

"Don't be ridiculous! Something's wrong here!"

Kakashi snapped sharply, his tone unusually harsh.

"I'm leaving first. Don't act recklessly—go find the other ninja and regroup, understand—"

Before he could finish, an ANBU operative appeared beside them in a blur of motion.

"Might Guy, Captain White Fang—you are to proceed immediately to the designated assembly point."

"…Captain White Fang?" Guy blinked in confusion, turning to look at Kakashi with a puzzled expression.

Kakashi frowned slightly but quickly refocused.

"What's going on? Why is the Nine-Tails—"

"The situation is critical. You'll be briefed afterward, Captain White Fang," the ANBU replied curtly, clearly unwilling to explain further. "For now, follow orders and proceed to the designated location immediately."

The urgency in his voice left no room for argument.

"…I can't join the fight?" Kakashi shook his head, not moving immediately. "Where is Captain Nightingale? And the Fourth Hokage?"

"The Fourth Hokage has not yet appeared," the ANBU replied calmly. "Captain Nightingale has his own assignment. Captain White Fang… please don't make this difficult for us."

"…I understand."

Kakashi's expression tightened with conflict. It was obvious he had no desire to head to some designated assembly point. What he truly wanted was to go to the ANBU—to find Natsuhiko and stand beside him in protecting Konoha.

There was a nagging certainty in his heart: once he went to that "designated location," he would lose any chance of participating in this battle.

But there was nothing he could do.

His teacher wasn't in the village, which meant the acting authority now rested with the Third Hokage. And defying the Hokage's orders was not something he was willing to do.

Watching the ANBU operative disappear into the distance, Kakashi glanced down at the map in his hand and let out a quiet sigh before turning to Guy.

"Let's go."

"…Earlier," Guy nodded, then hesitated slightly before asking, "that ANBU called you 'Captain,' didn't he?"

"…Just drop it," Kakashi muttered, rubbing his temple before finally giving a small nod.

"Alright, got it!" Guy responded immediately, falling into step beside him.

As they moved, Guy seemed unusually quiet, while Kakashi remained lost in his own thoughts, his mind elsewhere entirely.

Yet just as they were about to leave Konoha's boundaries, Guy suddenly spoke again.

"You're part of the ANBU, and you called Natsuhiko 'Captain'… so does that mean Natsuhiko is the 'Captain Nightingale' they were talking about?"

"…."

Kakashi froze for a moment.

Wasn't Guy supposed to be slow on the uptake? Since when had he become this perceptive?

...

Meanwhile, Natsuhiko and Owl were racing toward the ANBU headquarters.

Inwardly, Natsuhiko found himself almost grateful that Minato's residence was located some distance from the Hokage Building. Perhaps it was Minato's way of remaining grounded, of not forgetting his origins—or simply a reflection of his approachable nature.

Whatever the reason, the distance worked in Natsuhiko's favor.

The ANBU headquarters lay just a couple of streets behind the Hokage Building, meaning it would take them some time to reach it.

And that time… was more than enough.

Enough for Natsuhiko to act on an opportunity he had been waiting for.

For a long time, he had been pondering how to eliminate Murashima Takumi. Yet no matter how much he thought about it, he had never found a truly satisfying solution.

At one point, he had even considered fabricating a scenario during the Nine-Tails' rampage—making it appear as though Murashima had been killed by the beast.

But now…

That no longer seemed necessary.

A faint, cold glint flickered in Natsuhiko's eyes.

Perhaps he could make use of the ANBU Commander's… particular personality.

Even with the Nine-Tails rampaging through the village, Hiruzen still needed a specific written order just to mobilize him. That alone spoke volumes about how rigid—how extreme—Murashima's adherence to rules had become.

Or rather… how thoroughly conditioned he was.

"If that's the case," Natsuhiko thought, his gaze turning icy, "then without that order… he won't act at all."

And if the order were to disappear?

Would Murashima still deploy the ANBU?

The answer was obvious.

No.

He would not act recklessly—and that, in itself, was the perfect opportunity.

"…But before that…"

Natsuhiko's eyes flickered briefly toward Owl at his side before shifting away again, focusing instead on the distant figure ahead.

The Nine-Tails.

Under someone's control, it rampaged wildly through the village, destroying everything in its path as it advanced relentlessly toward the Hokage Rock.

Hiruzen had already engaged it, and the battle had begun in earnest.

Even without direct orders, Konoha's shinobi had mobilized. Countless figures leapt through the air, swarming like ants around the massive beast, harassing it from all directions.

Yet against something like the Nine-Tails…

Their efforts seemed painfully small.

The sky was ablaze with the dazzling light of countless jutsu, each one spectacular and mesmerizing in its brilliance. Yet as beautiful as they were, it was painfully obvious how little effect they had.

Each attack struck the Nine-Tails, sending shockwaves and clouds of debris into the air, but not a single blow caused any lasting harm. One swipe of its massive paw could kill a ninja outright, and combined with its terrifying chakra, the shinobi of Konoha could at best slow its advance, never truly stop it.

Only the Third Hokage's techniques managed to make a slight impact. Even then, while his jutsu could leave scars on the beast, the Nine-Tails' nearly limitless chakra quickly healed even the deepest cuts.

Step by step, the monstrous tail beast closed the distance, and Natsuhiko knew it was time to act.

"Captain Owl, we should move faster," Natsuhiko said suddenly, his tone as gentle as ever. "The Nine-Tails is heading straight toward us. At this rate, it won't be long before we run into it."

"Indeed…" Owl glanced back at him, a trace of wariness flickering in his eyes. "What do you have in mind, Division Commander Nightingale?"

"The Flying Thunder God Technique," Natsuhiko replied without hesitation. "I left a marker with the Third Division. We can use that to move instantly."

"…Flying Thunder God?" Owl hesitated.

He didn't trust Natsuhiko.

There was no clear reason—Natsuhiko had done nothing overtly suspicious—but the unease lingered all the same. Even with that calm, approachable demeanor he showed to everyone, something about him simply felt… unreliable.

And after having personally experienced Natsuhiko's methods once before, that feeling had only deepened.

Yet now, he had no real choice.

This was an order from the Third Hokage. Whether it was cooperating with Natsuhiko or mobilizing the ANBU, he had to see it through.

After a moment, he let out a quiet breath and nodded.

"…Understood. Let's use your Flying Thunder God. It will be faster."

"Of course. Then please, come closer, Captain Owl."

Natsuhiko smiled faintly and stepped toward him.

He could sense Owl's caution, but he paid it no mind. To him, a man already marked for death was not worth worrying about.

His hand moved slowly toward Owl, while his gaze flicked briefly toward the approaching Nine-Tails. The beast was drawing ever nearer, its presence growing more oppressive with each passing second.

Then—

The instant his hand made contact, Natsuhiko's grip twisted sharply, locking Owl's arm in place. At the same time, his Sage Mode activated once more.

"…What?!"

Owl immediately sensed something was wrong and tried to pull free—but before he could react, Natsuhiko's fist drove hard into his abdomen.

A surge of pain exploded through him.

His body bent involuntarily, curling like a shrimp under the force of the blow, yet he couldn't even collapse—Natsuhiko's grip held him firmly in place.

In the next instant, a massive surge of chakra flooded into his body.

His muscles stiffened.

And he froze completely.
