Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Zeri and Seraphine

Watching Faen conversing with the scholars, Zeri blinked in boredom on the side, and then directly cast her gaze around.

Actually, Zeri's personality was somewhat similar to Faen's. Although Zeri was willing to fight for the future of the workers, she didn't reject a more comfortable life. She just wasn't willing to build this comfortable life on the suffering of her friends in the neighborhood.

In addition, although Zeri had made up her mind to rebel against the tyranny of the Chem-Barons, in reality, Zeri had no understanding whatsoever of miscellaneous things like politics. She even felt a particular disgust for these dirty deeds—just like those guys she encountered a few days ago who disguised themselves as Faen's followers. If Faen hadn't warned her, even with the blessing of her equipment, Zeri would have fallen into a bitter struggle.

And this was just the behavior of one gang in the Sump. Among so many gangs in the Sump, Zeri couldn't imagine how many evil and dirty tricks they were secretly preparing.

Thinking of this, Zeri felt a little bit down. Because she found that she seemingly couldn't help Faen at all... whether in terms of power or anything else, Faen was stronger than her. Especially the theories he brought out; although Zeri herself didn't quite understand them, she could feel their profoundness from her mother's tone. What's more, now even Silco was taking the initiative to win Faen over, wanting to contribute to the revival of Zaun.

Then in what aspect could she help Faen a little?

It couldn't just be in bed, right? Recalling the debauchery that lasted from last night until just a few hours ago, Zeri couldn't help but blush. But soon, Zeri felt deeply struck once again.

Her mind involuntarily recalled that almost crazy intimacy in the morning. Faen's absurdly thick, vein-bulging, purplish-red baguette, without any foreplay, had carried a scorching high temperature and directly broken into her flower path, which had long been played with until it was red and swollen.

"Squelch, squish..."

That muddy, soft, and wet slippery sensation caused by over-development still lingered at the nerve endings of her senses. Every deep thrust from Faen hit straight against her cervix, bumping her whole body up and down like a rag doll. The joy factor resonated madly in the exchange of their bodily fluids, and Zeri could only act like a mindless female cat, throwing her snow-white neck back and screaming, allowing Faen's calloused large hands to ruthlessly knead her pair of breasts, squeezing them out of shape.

What made her even more ashamed was that even after reaching her limit, that little mouth inside her body was actually still greedily sucking and squeezing tight around that massive object under Faen's rhythm. Accompanied by Faen's final irrigation like a volcanic eruption, a massive amount of scalding, thick, white turbid essence shot into her deepest parts like a high-pressure water gun, forcefully stretching her flat lower abdomen into a moving curve.

That extreme shivering of being completely filled, to the point where even her soul was drowning in the ocean of lust, made Zeri, even just standing here right now, feel sticky liquid overflowing along the edges of her panties at the root of her thighs, soaking that tight layer of fabric.

Because all these physical "weaknesses" were completely grasped by Faen, while Zeri felt an indescribable sense of belonging, she also truly felt a trace of frustration for her own mediocrity in serious matters.

In the following plot, Seraphine's joining might become an opportunity for Zeri to find her own self-worth. After all, when two young girls with vastly different personalities but both possessing a pure heart meet, they will always collide to create different sparks.

Because even in bed, she didn't seem to be of much help... just like last night, although Faen enjoyed it, he had to help her with activating healing every once in a while. In the end, he even treated her for quite a long time before she regained her mobility.

Just as Zeri was still thinking, suddenly noticing something, Zeri cast her gaze toward a corner not far away.

Within Zeri's line of sight, a beautiful pink-haired girl was carefully hiding behind a wall there, her big sparkling eyes curiously looking toward the room from afar. Following the girl's line of sight, the person the girl was peeking at was none other than her beloved Faen.

And that girl... Seraphine?

After recognizing that girl, Zeri blinked curiously. She wasn't jealous; after all, just in Zaun alone, there were countless people curious about Faen, especially since Faen was so outstanding. Once similar girls realized Faen's excellence, there would probably only be more of them.

As for pimping or whatever—being from Zaun, Zeri knew very well what evil deeds those Chem-Barons had committed.

Under these circumstances, Zeri absolutely abhorred actions like pimping, which involved exploiting and forcing women into sex trades.

However, it was also precisely because Zeri grew up in such a harsh environment like Zaun. Therefore, Zeri knew from a young age that those powerful guys used their power to have three wives and four concubines...

Not to mention in Zaun, even in the self-proclaimed civilized Piltover, it was very common. It was just that compared to the chaotic Zaun, the lords of Piltover wouldn't show it off so blatantly, but would secretly keep mistresses in golden houses.

Of course, Zeri didn't think Faen could capture a young girl's heart in just one meeting... unless Faen directly used a pure and potent dose of the joy factor right from the start. But Zeri knew Faen wasn't that kind of person.

Unless Seraphine was a bad girl.

Thinking of this, Zeri shouted to Faen next to her, "It's so boring here, I'm going out for a walk."

Hearing this, Faen turned around and signaled that it was no problem, then he raised his hand and said, "Remember to be careful."

With Zeri's strength, it would be almost impossible for the security here to take down the famously agile Zeri in a short time. Especially since the emotional resonance motor had considerably enhanced Zeri's biggest shortcoming, which was her own defense. In a fight now, if Zeri was fully prepared, even Faen would have to spend some time to catch this little girl who could use electrical currents to accelerate across various surfaces.

Of course, it would just take a little time, nothing more.

After a brief report to Faen, Zeri then excitedly bolted out, generating electricity under her feet.

If Zeri remembered correctly, Faen seemed to care quite a bit about this little girl named Seraphine? After all, this girl was just like her, a girl who appeared in Faen's prophecies. According to Faen, she was someone who "would feel pain for the pain of others, feel happy for the happiness of others, and sincerely hoped this world could become a better place...", and she was also someone they needed to win over.

Out of a hundred percent trust in Faen, while Zeri believed in Seraphine's moral character, she was also curious about what magical qualities this girl had to make Faen praise her so much.

Besides this point, Zeri herself also liked Seraphine very much, otherwise she wouldn't have specifically come to attend a concert—even though the concert was now ruined.

On the other side, looking at Faen's figure through the stained glass window, Seraphine's eyes were full of curiosity.

Born with the ability to perceive the emotions of others, Seraphine was able to better observe the world in her eyes from another domain. But to be honest, even up until now, Seraphine had never truly set foot on Zaun's soil. Because although she could currently distinguish and accept the ubiquitous melodies, notes, and noises in the environment, this was limited to Piltover.

And Zaun, the place where her father and mother were born, Seraphine had yet to set foot in even now.

Because the sounds of Zaun were too noisy and chaotic, causing Seraphine's parents to disagree with her going to Zaun—even coming to the Mid-Level Plaza today for the concert was something Seraphine had begged for a long time before receiving consent and permission.

And even now, Seraphine still remembered that strange feeling when she rode the clanking elevator down.

Even just by getting close to Zaun, she felt like she had returned to her hometown. It was just that this hometown was so unfamiliar, as if she were a stranger with no relation to it.

And in the Mid-Level Plaza, this place in Piltover closest to Zaun, she heard a melody named forbearance and lofty aspirations.

This kind of melody was not rare; in Piltover University, in the Hextech crystal workshops, many scholars were saving their strength, wanting to change their destiny through invention and creation just like Jayce, to realize the great 'Piltover Dream'.

But this forbearance and lofty aspiration in Zaun was different... this free rhythm was unique to Zaun.

And within this free rhythm, Seraphine also heard anger and hatred. Especially when the concert just opened today, the people of Zaun and Piltover almost broke into a brawl. Fortunately, the Hextech acoustic dampener manufactured by Seraphine's father greatly enhanced her power, preventing the scene from spiraling completely out of control.

It was a pity that what followed closely was an even more tragic thug attack.

Although this thug attack didn't cause too many casualties, it made Seraphine notice Faen—more accurately, she noticed that trace of cheerful melody that remained eternally unfading even amidst the voices of Zaun filled with suppression and anger.

Because of the sudden attack, the concert was forced to terminate, and Seraphine should have returned to Topside.

It was foreseeable that for a very long time to come, Seraphine definitely wouldn't be allowed by her parents to go to Zaun. After all, this was only Seraphine's first time getting close to Zaun, and such a violent conflict had already occurred. Even if Seraphine's parents were broad-minded and agreed to let her go, the Piltover councilors and Enforcers wouldn't agree to let Seraphine venture deep into danger.

But Seraphine didn't want to leave in such a desolate manner.

The forced termination of the concert made her feel sad, but what Seraphine cared about even more was that trace of joyful melody. Although it was just an unfounded feeling, the voices of Zaun told Seraphine that this trace of joyful melody would be Zaun's chance for rebirth.

If she just left like this now, she might not be able to see him again for a very long time in the future, right?

Thinking of this, Seraphine curiously observed Faen in the distance through the glass window, who was speaking eloquently with a leisurely expression right in front of Enforcers, a Piltover Council member, and a star scholar.

Who is he? Why is he in Zaun? What is his purpose? What does he want to do? And why is he doing this?

Thinking of this, Seraphine only felt incredibly curious.

Just as Seraphine was completely absorbed in her secret observation—"Hey! What are you doing? Why do you keep staring at Faen?"

Jumping out suddenly from beside her, Zeri curiously scrutinized Seraphine. Upon hearing Zeri's words, Seraphine jumped in fright like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, instantly leaping two meters away. Finally, discovering that Zeri had no malicious intent and was just curiously observing her, she gradually relaxed.

After relaxing, Seraphine also realized that the girl in front of her was none other than the girl who had appeared beside that mysterious man earlier.

Thinking of this, Seraphine blinked, then curiously asked, "You just said... Faen? His name is Faen?"

"Of course," Zeri nodded, and then curiously sized up Seraphine, asking, "So why were you staring at Faen?"

"Because... because he's very strange." Hearing Zeri's question, Seraphine wasn't nervous. Because for the current Seraphine, compared to other identities or whatever, she cared more about the strange melody emanating from Faen.

Furthermore, having little experience in the world, she had been protected by her parents for the past ten-plus years. Up until today, let alone entering Zaun, even just getting close to Zaun was her first time... Without much psychological defense, Seraphine almost directly spoke out about the wonderful things she sensed.

Seeing Seraphine so frank, Zeri's spirit also relaxed a little—beneath her seemingly relaxed exterior, Zeri had also been worrying if Seraphine was preparing to do something bad to Faen.

But now, upon hearing Seraphine's words, Zeri showed a look of surprise after gradually relaxing.

"Can you really see other people's emotions? That's amazing! Just like Faen said!"

"Eh? Mr. Faen talked about me?" Hearing this, Seraphine looked surprised, and then said, "But this is my first time meeting Mr. Faen..."

As she said this, Seraphine's face also carried some shyness and embarrassment. Because of her identity, the first thing Seraphine thought of after hearing this information wasn't anything else, but... obsessive stalker fans or something similar.

Although Seraphine had only just debuted not long ago, because of her melody magic, her beautiful singing voice that could easily evoke the emotions of others had already earned her extreme fame and a large number of fans. Combined with her sweet face, some fanatical stalker fans had constantly inquired about Seraphine's information.

It was only because Piltover's laws were relatively sound, and at the same time, Seraphine's parents truly loved their daughter deeply, not treating her as a cash cow just because she became famous. Otherwise, the current Seraphine would probably still be singing in various art venues in Piltover.

"Haha~" Although she wasn't very clear on what a stalker fan was—Zaunites didn't have any strange culture like stalker fans. Generally speaking, in Zaun, if you got to the point of seeking out someone's family members, the goal was usually to wipe out their entire family, not to drink their bathwater or something like that.

But even so, through the embarrassment in Seraphine's expression, Zeri could more or less sense that Seraphine was feeling nervous about this.

Thinking of this, Zeri explained Faen's identity as a prophet.

Being just a teenage girl, and an art student at that, Seraphine's reaction to hearing the identity of a prophet was entirely different from Caitlyn's, Jayce's, and the others. Instead, she widened her eyes in astonishment, stole a quick glance at Faen in the distance, and then covered her small mouth, saying:

"Really? Is Mr. Faen really a prophet? But... but in the novels and stories I've read, aren't prophets always old grandpas? And every single one of them is burdened with deep sorrow and hatred!"

Saying this, Seraphine took another look at Faen. A tall, fit body, a handsome face, leisurely and casual speech... this was completely different from what a legendary prophet should look like!

Seeing that Seraphine didn't believe it, Zeri didn't feel surprised. After all, Seraphine hadn't experienced Faen's wondrousness and power.

Thinking of this, Zeri said, "Then I really need to have a good chat with you about Faen—he's amazing!"
