The morning after Yuri's visit started like any other.
Tita Gema was in the kitchen. Jasfer was "helping" (burning toast). Serina was reading peacefully. Jay's grandma was in her rocking chair, still recovering from her epic battle with Yuri's grandma.
Yuri's grandma was still there. Because of course she was.
She'd stayed overnight. Claimed she "wasn't done arguing."
Jay's grandma: "YOU'RE STILL HERE?"
Yuri's grandma: "I'M NOT LEAVING TILL I WIN!"
Jay's grandma: "YOU'LL NEVER WIN!"
Yuri's grandma: "I'VE WON EVERY ARGUMENT SINCE 1965!"
Jay's grandma: "1965? I'VE BEEN WINNING SINCE 1940!"
Yuri's grandma: "THAT'S NOT FLEX! THAT'S JUST OLD!"
Jay's grandma: "OLD MEANS EXPERIENCED!"
Yuri's grandma: "OLD MEANS TIRED!"
Jay's grandma: "I'LL SHOW YOU TIRED!" She waved her cane.
Yuri's grandma: "AGAIN WITH THE CANE!"
Everyone ignored them.
Breakfast continued.
Then—
Percy screamed.
Percy: "EVERYONE STOP! LOOK AT THIS!"
He held up his phone.
On the screen: a photo of Jay and Keifer. The engagement kiss. Perfect lighting. Perfect angle.
The caption: JAYFER ENGAGED! WATSON ENTERPRISES HEIRESS SAYS YES!
Ci-n: "WE'RE FAMOUS!"
Rakki: "You're not in the photo."
Ci-n: "EMOTIONALLY I AM!"

The comments rolled in.
"Jayfer endgame!"
"They're so perfect!"
"The blue matching!!!"
"Goals."
"I've been shipping them since day one."
"When's the wedding?"
Jay stared at her phone.
Jay: "This is overwhelming."
Keifer: "This is us."
Jay: "Same thing?"
Keifer: "Same thing."

Keifer: "Stop."
Jay: "No."
He kissed her forehead.
Percy: "DOCUMENTING THE DOCUMENTED MOMENT!"
Ci-n: "META!"
Yuri and Liana came downstairs.
Yuri: "Saw the internet."
Liana: "It's everywhere."
Yuri: "Congrats. Again."
Keifer: "Thanks."
Yuri: "You're welcome."
Awkward pause.
Then—
Yuri's grandma: "MY GRANDSON IS BEING NICE! DOCUMENT THIS!"
Jay's grandma: "YOUR GRANDSON OWES US NICE!"
Yuri's grandma: "HE'S PAYING WITH FRIENDSHIP!"
Jay's grandma: "FRIENDSHIP DOESN'T COVER THE DRAMA!"
Yuri's grandma: "IT COVERS ENOUGH!"
Jay's grandma: "NOT ENOUGH!"
Yuri's grandma: "YOU'RE SO STUBBORN!"
Jay's grandma: "YOU'RE SO LOUD!"
Yuri's grandma: "I'M PASSIONATE!"
Jay's grandma: "I'M DETERMINED!"
Yuri's grandma: "SAME THING?"

They went on for twenty minutes.
Everyone watched. Ate breakfast. Placed bets.
Drew: "New bet! Who wins this round?"
David: "Jay's grandma. 500."

Eren: "I'm confused but invested."
Josh nodded. Ate popcorn.
Baster hummed an "old ladies fighting" melody.

Jay's grandma: "TRUCE?"
Yuri's grandma: "TRUCE."
They shook hands.

Yuri's grandma: "He's working on it."

They went to get more coffee together.
The internet continued exploding.
Percy read comments aloud.

Jay looked at Keifer.

He kissed her.
