Dylan's voice came calm … too calm.
It made Adelyn halt stiffly.
Did he already regret agreeing to her?
The possibility bothered her, but before she could confirm it with him, something warm covered her shoulders from behind.
Her shoulders squeezed slightly, and she turned to glance back, only to see a cream-colored structured trench coat draped over her frame.
Her eyes lifted and met with his.
"Don't go out without it," Dylan said, retracting his hand and placing both behind his back.
"T-Thank you, Mr. Warren," Adelyn said quickly, turning around. "But you didn't really have to. I am sure …," her eyes wandered as she searched around, "… I must have dropped my coat somewhere around here."
"They aren't here," Dylan replied with certainty.
When she looked at him, he added, "I've sent them to the laundry. Later, I will have someone deliver it to you."
She nodded in understanding before pulling her lips in a polite smile.
