Jasper's eyes narrowed as he tried to understand where that accusation had come from.
However, no matter how he tried to make sense of it …
He simply couldn't.
"You —do you even know what you're saying?" he asked, looking at him as though he had lost his mind.
Karl only pursed his lips and stared back. "Of course, I know what I'm saying." He paused, then repeated firmly, "I'm calling you vile —and that's exactly what you are."
"Karl Warren," Jasper's voice dropped, deep and edged with warning, "don't test me. You know I don't have unlimited patience for you."
Karl stared at him, his eyes widening in pure disbelief —as if he truly couldn't understand his brother at all. He pointed a finger at himself.
"I—I'm testing you?"
Jasper held his gaze."What do you think?"
Karl parted his lips to argue, but then snapped them shut with a huff.
