"I refuse!" Kaien said stubbornly, acting like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water.
"You…" Haruno Mebuki pointed at Kaien, her chest trembling with anger.
"I'm telling you, Kaien, if you dare touch Sakura again, I will never forgive you."
"Then we'll see if you have the ability to teach me a lesson." Kaien snorted, crossing his arms.
He looked at her indifferently and said with disdain, "What can you do? Tell everyone about my relationship with Sister Sakura?"
"I… I…" Mebuki opened her mouth but couldn't say anything.
She truly couldn't tell anyone what had happened between Sakura and Kaien.

He didn't believe Mebuki would ever announce his affair with Sakura.
After all, Sakura was her daughter. If it came out, it wouldn't just ruin his and Sakura's reputations—it would disgrace the entire Haruno family.
Mebuki gritted her teeth.
Suddenly, she lunged at Kaien, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her entire delicate body pressed tightly against him.
She was truly out of options. She couldn't expose Sakura and Kaien's relationship, and she wasn't strong enough to defeat him. The only thing she could do now was sacrifice herself.

Kaien only paused briefly before wrapping his arms around her waist.

Mebuki trembled all over. Fear filled her beautiful eyes.
He was right.
If the truth came out, Sakura would be condemned by thousands, gossiped about by neighbors, divorced by Sasuke, and her family shattered.
And it was precisely because Mebuki didn't want that outcome that she wanted Kaien to leave her daughter.
