All five brothers were sitting in the living room, their collective gaze fixed intently on Yuzi. The twins were looking at their eldest brother, Li Shen, their eyes practically begging him to agree quickly. On the other hand, Li Han was looking extremely excited, his restless energy filling the room.
Li Zhu only had a small, contemplative smile on his face. Li Shen, however, looked at me with a serious expression. After wondering about something for a long moment, he finally asked:
"Yuzi, do you really want to establish a family? You know that for that, one must have a Super Level mage in the family, and it is not easy to break through to the Super Level."
"I know, but to make sure that we can further strengthen ourselves, then you must do it. Anyway, I have a plan for that," I said. I reached for the pendant around my neck—an Undead Vessel—and began to explain its function to my brothers, detailing my plan for their advancement.
After listening to my explanation, all of my brothers' eyes started to shine with a bright light, but at the same time, a shadow of worry crossed their faces.
"Yuzi, collecting soul essence is fine, but is it really necessary for you to come with us during demon hunting?" This time, it was Brother Li Han who asked, his excitement dampened by concern.
"It is absolutely necessary, Brother Han. This vessel is connected to my soul; it only works if I am the one using it." I said this even though it wasn't strictly true. The reality was that only if I was present during the hunting would my 10x Reward System multiply the soul essence and soul fragments by ten.
"Well, then we will stay put for a few days and think about it," Brother Li Shen said, while the others nodded in reluctant agreement.
I sighed hearing it. I knew that now that I had decided to go with them during the hunt, they would spend every waking moment making sure the places we went were not too dangerous. They would prioritize my protection above all else.
After some more time getting along with each other, Yuzi got up from his place and went upstairs to his room.
"Brother Li Shen, what do you think we should do? Is it really okay to bring little Yuzi with us during monster hunting?" This time it was Li Zhu who asked. During their time back in Bo City, he had come to realize that his little brother had become quite mature.
At the same time, he felt a deep sadness about that change. He knew that during the time they vanished on their mission, everyone—including Yuzi—thought they were dead. He didn't want to think about how desperate and lonely his little brother must have felt to be forced to mature to this extent just to survive.
"Well, what Yuzi said is right," Li Shen said, pausing for a moment before continuing. "If we want to become stronger, then we must do it. Establishing a family will be a huge help for Yuzi's future. But we must make sure that the places we go are not too dangerous. Safety comes above all."
"Good. But we can't go demon hunting in Bo City," Li Han added. For the first time, the hot-headed brother said something very reasonable. "To make sure we don't expose little Yuzi's secret, it's better that we go back to Shanghai for hunting." The others immediately agreed.
....
Back in his room, Yuzi was lying on his bed, thinking about the best locations to gather essence.
'We must make sure that the place we go hunting has a good amount of Servant and Warrior level demons, but at the same time, the threat level isn't too high.' After thinking for a while, I decided to leave the final choice to my brothers.
I still had a Super Level Summoning Card in my inventory. If I used it, the mage summoned would be at least a Level 2 or even a Level 3 Super Mage—more than enough to kill an orthodox monarch or even a middle-level monarch. However, I decided against using it just yet.
A Super Level 2 or 3 Mage might sound high and mighty—and they are—but there are things that can't be done with raw strength alone. For a family to thrive, you don't just need power; you need numbers and infrastructure.
Once my brothers reach the Super Level and we establish our own force, we will need a certain amount of loyal family members and subordinates to handle the family's businesses and daily operations. As a newly established force, we won't be able to recruit many High-level or Mid-level mages easily, and even those we do recruit can't be fully trusted. Important positions must be handed over to people who are absolutely loyal.
The Super Level card I have can be split into 10 High-level cards, and those can be further split into Mid-level and primary level cards. If used properly and proportionally, this single card can create an entire loyal foundation for a new family.
Thinking about all these moving parts, I finally felt tired. I had spent the last night meditating and hadn't slept for a single minute. Now, I finally felt the urge to sleep.
....,.
Time passed and it's been 20 days since my brothers returned to Bo City. During this time, my life went on as usual—meditating at night for a few hours, then sleeping, and spending time with my brothers or playing with Mo Fan and his group.
On the other hand, my brothers went outside the city to hunt Demon Wolves. They took several soul vessels with them to collect not only the soul essence but also the remnant souls. They brought all the remnant souls back to me, and I used my own vessel to fuse them into complete soul essences.
By now, my brothers had upgraded all three of their magic systems—except for the Summoning system—to Primary Level 4. They had acquired some Warrior-level spirit essence, but it still wasn't enough to elevate their magic to Level 5.
Finally, today is the day. I am going with my four brothers to Shanghai, while Brother Li Zhu stays behind with Grandma Zhang. After saying goodbye, we headed to the Bo City train station. Trains are the only safe way to reach Shanghai, and it took us almost three hours to get there.
"Brother Li Shen, I have a very good place for us to go and hunt demons without much difficulty. It is a relatively safe place," I said. After brainstorming for 20 days, I finally remembered a location from the original novel that was perfect for collecting essence.
"Really? Where is this place you are talking about?" Li Shen asked, while the other three looked at me curiously. After all, I had only been to Shanghai a few times.
"The place is..."
