"Have you ever had sex?"
Cheon watched Aurora's expression shift from concern to surprise. The latte mug stopped halfway to her mouth, and for a moment, Aurora seemed frozen in place.
"I—what?" Aurora blinked rapidly, her cheeks flushing pink. "That's... where did that come from?"
Cheon regretted the question immediately. She'd spoken without thinking, desperate for guidance from someone who might understand what she was feeling.
"I'm sorry," she said quickly. "That was inappropriate. Please forget I said anything."
Aurora set her mug down, the ceramic clinking softly against the saucer. The air in the shop was warm, thick with the scent of roasted coffee beans and steamed milk.
She glanced around to make sure no one was listening.
"No, it's okay. You just surprised me." Aurora tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "But no. I haven't."
"Oh." Cheon hadn't expected that answer. Aurora was beautiful, confident, popular. She'd assumed Aurora had experience with everything.
