Chapter 16 - Ch 16- Xilonen: Lord Pyro Archon, I Adore You!

Caelus's arrival interrupted the argument between Mavuika and the others.

"Lord Pyro Archon, you really need to do something about Mavuika."

Xilonen said helplessly, "She gives me impossible requests every few days. I'm going bald from the stress."

"Xilonen, why is it that the moment Lord Pyro Archon arrives, you start speaking ill of me?"

Mavuika said with a chuckle, "My standards are just a little high. There's no need to slander me like that."

"Besides, you're not even bald."

In one of the event storylines from the original work, in order to save Natlan's Saurians, the playable characters from Natlan had to stage a fake argument.

Mualani and the others could only be described as awkwardly acting, but Xilonen's emotions were the only ones that felt genuine.

It was obvious how much frustration Xilonen held toward her "client patron," Mavuika, in daily life.

"I don't want to get involved in your affairs."

"Xilonen, I came this time because I hope you can help forge some new weapons."

Caelus said with a smile.

"Ah, this…"

"Lord Pyro Archon, you have requirements as well?"

Xilonen gasped and instinctively pressed a hand to her aching forehead.

Although this was Caelus's first time commissioning a weapon, the standards for the Pyro Archon's weapon would surely be extremely high—perhaps even more troublesome than constructing Mavuika's Flamestrider.

"Lord Pyro Archon, may I ask what kind of weapon you wish to forge?"

Xilonen sighed. After adjusting her expression, she spoke with a trace of resignation.

She truly wanted to take on something simple for once. But since the Pyro Archon himself had come in person, she absolutely could not be careless.

"Lord Pyro Archon, you'll need to specify the weapon's appearance, size, intended effects, and all related details."

"Otherwise, Xilonen will have something to complain about."

Mavuika added from the side.

Many people wished to commission weapons from Xilonen.

However, some could not clearly describe the effects they desired. Even after the weapon was forged, they would still feel dissatisfied.

To improve efficiency, Xilonen required clients to clarify every detail before she began forging.

Of course, that rule generally applied to ordinary clients.

Dealing with a god was another matter entirely.

"It's no trouble at all… Lord Pyro Archon, please don't listen to Mavuika's nonsense."

Xilonen quickly shook her head. "Regarding your weapon, Lord Pyro Archon, we can discuss it at length. If it doesn't suit your expectations, I can revise it until you're satisfied."

After all, Caelus was the Pyro Archon with the most unpredictable temperament in Natlan's history.

On the day he ascended to the divine seat, he suspended Natlan's long-standing traditions—the Holy Night of the Return of Flame and the Night-Warden War.

He even personally dealt with every dissenter.

Xilonen felt that if she showed the slightest reluctance about forging his weapon, the consequences would be severe.

So even if his requirements were more troublesome than Mavuika's, she had to serve him properly.

"The weapons I want you to forge aren't for my personal use."

Caelus handed the blueprints to Xilonen. "They're for Natlan's warriors. If they can be manufactured successfully, our overall strength will increase significantly."

"For others?" Xilonen felt noticeably relieved.

If they were intended for ordinary Natlan warriors, the standards would not be as extreme.

It wasn't that the other warriors didn't deserve better weapons, but some weapons could only be fully utilized by the truly powerful. In the hands of someone lacking sufficient strength, they would simply waste resources.

For example, Chasca's spear that allows flight—if anyone else attempted to wield it, they might be thrown off before they could even defeat a few Abyssal creatures.

"Let me see the blueprints… Whoa!"

As soon as she opened them, Xilonen let out a startled exclamation.

"What is it?"

Hearing her reaction, Mavuika asked with concern.

"I'm just… deeply impressed."

Xilonen stared at the blueprints. "The weapon's functions, intended effects, every specification and parameter are all clearly documented. Even the required materials are listed in detail."

"In all my years as a blacksmith, this is the first time I've seen requirements presented so clearly."

She looked up at Caelus. "Lord Pyro Archon, with these schematics, even an average blacksmith could replicate these weapons."

"So there's no issue?" Caelus asked.

"To be safe, I should first forge one according to the schematics."

Xilonen said, "Once it's completed and I've confirmed that the production process and final results align with the specifications, I'll inform you, Lord Pyro Archon."

"That works," Caelus replied.

In theory, his weapons were far more advanced than Natlan's current armaments.

If they could be mass-produced, Natlan's combat capabilities would multiply several times over.

"Xilonen, is there really a need to be so surprised?"

Seeing her carefully studying the schematics, Mavuika teased, "Didn't I also give you design plans when you were building the Flamestrider?"

"You still have the nerve to say that!"

Xilonen shot her a glare. "Your 'design plans' were scattered everywhere—bits and pieces all over the place. How many times did I have to reorganize them just to build a Flamestrider that met your expectations?"

"Unlike Lord Pyro Archon's schematics, which can be followed directly step by step."

After saying that, Xilonen indicated she needed to begin testing the forging process and picked up her hammer to start working.

"Lord Pyro Archon, would you do me the honor of stepping outside for a brief chat?"

Mavuika looked at Caelus, her tone half playful.

"Coincidentally, I have something I'd like to discuss with you as well."

Caelus left the workshop together with Mavuika.

With a thought, Mavuika summoned a black Flamestrider and mounted it in one smooth motion. "Lord Pyro Archon, hop on."

"You really are fond of this vehicle."

Caelus followed and took a seat behind her.

It was amusing—before transmigrating, he had never ridden a motorcycle.

Who would have thought that after crossing into another world, his first ride would be here?

Once Caelus was seated, Mavuika ignited the Flamestrider. A powerful blaze erupted from the rear, propelling both of them into the sky.

After flying some distance, Mavuika descended into a secluded area and brought the vehicle to a stop.

"Here, we shouldn't have to worry about anyone overhearing us," she said.

"I imagine you're not particularly fond of the phrase 'ladies first,'" Caelus remarked as he stepped off the Flamestrider.

"So I'll ask—would you like to speak first, or shall I?"

"I didn't expect Lord Pyro Archon to be such a gentleman," Mavuika said with a faint smile. "In that case, I'll begin."

"Caelus, you entered the Sacred Flame and inherited the knowledge of the previous Pyro Archons."

"Then you should know that I was the Pyro Archon five hundred years ago—and you should also know of my plan."

"But knowing all of this, why did you still suspend the Holy Night of the Return of Flame?"
