Chapter 40 - Ch 40- Paimon is Entering the Gacha Pool Too?

The World of Genshin Impact.

"You can use multiple Elemental Powers at the same time?!"

Hearing the Traveler's words, Kachina's youthful face was filled with shock.

"That's right." Seeing the little girl's surprised expression, Paimon, who was even smaller than her, said triumphantly, "Every time the Traveler reaches a new nation, she can resonate with the Statue of The Seven there and obtain the power of the elements."

Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro.

These were exactly the elements the Traveler currently mastered.

"This is the first I've heard of such a thing." Kachina covered her small mouth and said in surprise, "I didn't think there was another way to use multiple Elemental Powers at once besides using the 'Imitation Vision' given by the Pyro Archon."

"'Imitation Vision'?"

Hearing Kachina's words and catching the keyword, Paimon's eyes widened slightly. "Visions can be imitated?"

She knew that the Delusions created by the Fatui could also use Elemental Power, but they caused harm to the user's body.

Did such technology exist in Natlan as well?

"Um... this is a technique only the Pyro Archon has mastered; even Big Sister Xilonen doesn't know how to replicate it."

Kachina explained, "Every once in a while, the Pyro Archon creates Pyro 'Imitation Visions' and gifts them to the warriors of the various Tribes in Natlan."

"After obtaining an 'Imitation Vision,' warriors can channel Elemental Power just like a normal Vision."

Paimon's eyes lit up as she listened. "Doesn't that mean if I get an 'Imitation Vision,' I'll be able to use the power of the Pyro Element too?"

"Well..." Kachina thought for a moment and said with some uncertainty, "The Pyro Archon has only ever given 'Imitation Visions' to warriors, but giving them to ordinary people should be possible too."

Hearing that an 'Imitation Vision' might actually be useful for her, Paimon immediately rubbed her small hands happily, her eyes curving into beautiful crescents. "Traveler, do you think if we get on good terms with the Pyro Archon, she might give us an 'Imitation Vision'?"

"If I could use Elemental Power too, I wouldn't have to run away in fear whenever I encounter a wild boar in the future," Paimon said excitedly.

"And then you could roast the wild boar and eat it, right?" Lumine smiled and tapped the excited girl with her finger.

[Two seconds of silence for the wild boars]

[Wild boars deserve to die; they're always charging at me for no reason, and some even wait by the teleport waypoints, giving me a heart attack]

[If Paimon can get a Vision, does that mean Paimon can also take the field during combat in the future?]

[Paimon, use Flamethrower!]

[Paimon after getting hit: Help! The ingredients are hitting people!]

[Aren't you guys surprised the Pyro Archon can craft Visions? Venti himself can only use a glass bead as a substitute, so why can the Pyro Archon craft Visions?]

[Wasn't it mentioned in Nicole's demo video that the Pyro Archon can craft Visions? The surprise factor is long gone.]

[We'll only be truly surprised if Paimon actually manages to get a Vision later on.]

The players were just joking around.

But seeing the players' comments, Caelus actually started considering the idea.

"Giving Paimon a Pyro Vision isn't out of the question," he calculated, stroking his chin.

Even though the gacha pool was full, it didn't mean new characters couldn't be released.

However, an 'SP Paimon' could be given to players for free.

"Speaking of which, the original Pyro Traveler had extra effects for their Constellations after entering the Weekly Boss content stage. I could use that approach too," Caelus quickly thought of a plan.

When Lumine obtains the 'Imitation Vision' later, the talents and Constellations she unlocks would only be the initial version.

And after the Natlan Archon Quest ends, he would gift the 'Imitation Vision' to Paimon.

At that point, Paimon would assist the Pyro Traveler in battle in-game, and the Pyro Traveler's Constellations would add six new talents involving Paimon fighting alongside her.

"Brilliant."

He estimated that most players would never expect Paimon to actually have a day where she deals damage.

Finally, he'd create a new defeat animation for the fallen Pyro Traveler where both the Pyro Traveler and Paimon perish together, giving the players a real emotional gut-punch.

"No, it should be set so that Paimon takes the blow for the player."

When the Pyro Traveler is about to be killed, Paimon would jump out to take the hit, then dissipate before the players' eyes. At that moment, the Pyro Traveler's HP would restore to maximum.

Even without saying it, everyone would know Paimon died in the Pyro Traveler's place.

It would be best to add a line like: "Traveler, you must... live on..."

After saying that, Paimon would vanish from the player's sight.

"I really am a genius," Caelus thought. He felt that during the design, Paimon should also be added to the party interface on the far right.

Once Paimon dies, her icon would turn gray, and she could only be revived at a Statue of The Seven.

This would even solve the issue of giving the Statue of The Seven more utility.

Pretty good.

On the other side.

The Children of Echoes Tribe.

Unaware that her 'external mouthpiece' was destined for combat, the Traveler asked, "Kachina, when you mentioned using multiple Elemental Powers with the Pyro Archon's 'Imitation Vision' earlier, did you mean using a normal Vision and an 'Imitation Vision' together?"

"Yes," Kachina nodded. "We tried having someone who already had a Vision use an 'Imitation Vision,' and that person really could use two Elemental Powers at the same time."

"However, trying to use two different elements simultaneously is very difficult. Sometimes you want to use Pyro but end up channeling Electro instead, or sometimes both elements trigger at once and you blow yourself up."

"Even for those with deep research into Elemental Power, it's hard to control multiple elements at once, so most of us only use one Vision at most."

"But hearing you guys say it, Big Sister Traveler can actually use five elements at once? Is that true?" Kachina looked over in surprise.

"Of course it's true." Paimon glanced at the girl beside her. "Traveler, show Kachina what you've got."

"Watch closely."

The Traveler started with a Wind Blade, followed by a Starfell Sword, then a flash of lightning, then used the Dendro Element to make fresh grass sprout from the earth, and finally finished with a water shot.

"So amazing." Seeing someone use multiple Elemental Powers with her own eyes, Kachina's mouth hung open in shock.

[Did you see that? She won't be using them once the cutscenes start.]

[Kid, don't be surprised, because it's been a long time since we've seen the Traveler use multiple elements too.]

[The Traveler violated the underlying code of elemental reactions by forcing a Swirl-Crystallize reaction during the fight with Childe, so she's rarely used elements since then.]

"According to the usual routine, as long as the Traveler touches Natlan's Statue of The Seven, she should be able to get the power of the Pyro Element," Paimon said.

There happened to be a Statue of The Seven nearby, perfect for resonance.

Lumine approached the statue and placed her hand on it.

"Huh? Why isn't it resonating?"
