"It increases ATK, restores Life Points, and even makes his monsters immune to our Spell and Trap effects. It's incredibly well-rounded," Yugi said in shock.
"Battle! Orichalcos Shunoros attacks Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon! Photon Ring!"
"This is bad. Because of Orichalcos Tritos's effect, all my face-down cards are useless. Am I really going to lose—?"
For the first time, despair appeared on Kisaragi's face.
"I activate the Trap Card Attack Guidance Armor!" Kaiba shouted.
"Seto, are you trying to—?"
Kisaragi instantly understood what Kaiba intended.
"This card can be activated when either my monster or my opponent's monster declares an attack. I choose one of its effects. First, I can destroy that attacking monster. Second, I can target one monster on either player's field other than the attacking monster, and change the attack target to that monster before damage calculation."
"Hmph. Unfortunately, my monsters are unaffected by Spell and Trap Cards. Attack Guidance Armor cannot be placed on my monster," Dartz said.
"I choose my Blue-Eyes White Dragon as Orichalcos Shunoros's attack target!" Kaiba declared.
"No, Seto!" Kisaragi cried.
Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon donned the Attack Guidance Armor. The Photon Ring that had originally been flying toward Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon suddenly changed course and struck Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon instead.
Kaiba's Blue-Eyes White Dragon was instantly cut in two.
After slicing through Blue-Eyes, the Photon Ring did not stop. It slammed directly into Kaiba himself.
"Ah!"
Kaiba let out a pained cry. His eyes went unfocused, yet he remained standing.

"I… activate the Trap Card… Hope for the Dying… When my monster is destroyed… its ATK is converted… into Life Points…"

After saying that, Kaiba collapsed.
"Kaiba!"
Yugi and everyone watching from behind shouted his name.
Kisaragi immediately rushed over and caught Kaiba in her arms before he could hit the ground.
"Why are you so stupid?!" Kisaragi cried angrily. Tears fell from her face onto Kaiba's.
"Heh…"
Kaiba smiled and raised his hand, cupping Kisaragi's face. With his fingers, he gently wiped away her tears.
"Kisaragi… I'm leaving the rest to you. Step over my corpse and keep moving forward."
"Seto!"
The Seal of Orichalcos slowly contracted until it surrounded only Kaiba.
"Seto, become a sacrifice to our god!"
A ball of white light burst out from Kaiba's body and attached itself to a blank stone tablet behind Dartz. Gradually, Kaiba's figure appeared on the stone.
Dartz flicked his fingers a few times. Kaiba's body floated out of Kisaragi's arms, then was thrown outside the barrier. Yugi and Joey reacted quickly and caught him in time.
"A soulless shell. In the way," Dartz said.
"Kaiba! Kaiba!"
Everyone kept calling his name.
"Enough. No matter how much you call him, he can no longer hear you. Seto's soul is no longer there!"
Suddenly, the entire temple began to shake.
"What's happening?" Yugi said.
"Do you hear that? Our god is crying out in joy after receiving Seto Kaiba's soul!"
As Dartz spoke, a black eye-like void appeared behind him. It released a massive shockwave, and everyone except Kisaragi and Yugi was struck down by it, collapsing unconscious to the ground.
"Joey! Téa! Everyone!" Yugi shouted.
"Relax. Their souls are unharmed. You two have merely lost the companions who protected you," Dartz said.
"Shut up."
Kisaragi stood up, her head lowered, and spoke in an icy voice.
A brilliant light surged from her body. The white dragon spirit within her fully manifested, letting out an enraged roar. After that roar, the radiance around Kisaragi continued to blaze without weakening in the slightest.
"What is this? Why does she have such powerful spirit energy?!" Dartz said in shock.
Countless blue-white particles drifted through the air around Kisaragi, continuously gathering into her Duel Disk.
Then Kisaragi realized that the Synchro Monsters she had previously been unable to use were suddenly available.
"Could these be… Yusei Particles?" Kisaragi murmured.
"What is that?" Dartz asked in confusion.
"My turn. Draw!"
When Kisaragi drew two cards, a violent whirlwind erupted around her.
"What is this pressure?" Dartz said, fear creeping into his eyes.
"I activate the Spell Card Pot of Greed from my hand and draw two more cards from my deck!"
"No… I still haven't drawn that card," Kisaragi murmured.
"Next, I activate the Spell Card Allure of Darkness. I draw two cards from my deck, then banish one DARK monster from my hand. The card I banish is White-Horned Dragon!"
"I activate the Spell Card Dark Factory of Mass Production. I return two Blue-Eyes White Dragons from my Graveyard to my hand."
"Then I activate the effect of Priestess with Eyes of Blue in my Graveyard. If this card exists in the Graveyard, I can target one Blue-Eyes monster on my field. That monster returns to the owner's deck, and this card is Special Summoned from the Graveyard."

Kisaragi paid no attention to his words. She only spoke coldly.

"Sacred dragon of frozen ice, now rise upon the peak of frost. Synchro Summon! Appear—Trishula, Zero Dragon of the Ice Barrier!"

A massive dragon of ice appeared behind Kisaragi. Veins of blood-red energy layered across its body, and all three of its heads roared at Dartz in unison.
