Chapter 45 - Chapter 3 The Assassin's Warning

The evening breeze drifted gently through the city park.

Children laughed as they played on the swings while couples walked beneath rows of flowering trees. From a distance, it looked like a peaceful place where no danger could possibly exist.

On one of the old rocking cradles sat a young woman with long black hair.

Her expression was calm.

Cold.

Almost emotionless.

She was Miyuki Hanado.

Beside her sat an eight-year-old boy named Kupo, happily swinging his legs back and forth.

Miyuki took a photograph from her pocket.

She held it in front of Kupo.

"Hey, Kupo."

"Do you know this woman?"

Kupo looked at the photograph.

His eyes immediately lit up.

"Of course!"

"That's Kimmy Leortson!"

"The famous celebrity!"

Miyuki nodded.

"So you know her."

Kupo smiled proudly.

"Everyone knows her."

"She works under Pelion Company."

"They produce movies, dramas, and music."

"She's my favorite singer."

"I've watched almost all of her films."

Miyuki silently stared at the child.

How does an eight-year-old know this much about her?

She asked another question.

"You seem to know a lot."

"Do you also know where she lives?"

Kupo confidently nodded.

"Yes."

"I know."

Miyuki's eyes narrowed slightly.

"Then tell me."

"Where is her house?"

Kupo opened his mouth.

"I think it's nea—"

"HAHAHAHA!"

A loud laugh interrupted him.

Both of them turned around.

A large group of teenage boys slowly entered the park.

Their leader stepped forward with his hands inside his pockets.

His name was Uvil Jemith.

Behind him stood nearly twenty gang members.

The gang called themselves Mystical Oracles.

Despite their grand name, they had no connection with the legendary Oracles capable of wielding Sage or Mage Aura.

They were nothing more than a violent street gang.

Jemith slowly looked Miyuki up and down before grinning.

"So..."

"My boys weren't lying."

"You really are beautiful."

Standing beside him was the gang's second-in-command.

Ui Jin Win.

He folded his arms.

"Boss."

"I told you she'd still be here."

Another member laughed.

"Senior Ui Jin."

"When Boss finishes..."

"We want our turn."

Several members burst into laughter.

"Yeah!"

"Don't forget us!"

Jemith waved his hand.

"Shut up."

"You impatient idiots."

"I said you'll all get your chance."

"But first..."

He smiled at Miyuki.

"I'll enjoy her myself."

The five boys who had tried to harass Miyuki earlier that day immediately became excited.

"Thank you, Boss!"

Miyuki remained seated.

Not even a slight change appeared on her face.

No fear.

No anger.

Nothing.

Beside her...

Kupo began trembling.

His small body shook uncontrollably.

"...S-Sister Miyuki..."

"I'm sorry..."

"I was the one who suggested sitting in the park..."

"It's my fault..."

Before Miyuki could reply...

Kupo hurried toward the gang.

He knelt on the ground.

Tears streamed down his face.

"Please..."

"Big Brothers..."

"Please forgive us."

"Please don't hurt us."

Jemith looked down at him with disgust.

"...Pathetic."

Without hesitation—

BANG!

His kick slammed into Kupo's stomach.

The child flew backward and crashed into the iron frame of the rocking cradle.

"Agh!"

Kupo collapsed onto the ground while clutching his stomach.

"Shut up, brat."

Jemith looked toward Miyuki.

"And you—"

He suddenly stopped.

"...Huh?"

She was gone.

His eyes widened.

"When...?"

Several gang members hurriedly looked around.

Then they found her.

Miyuki was already kneeling beside Kupo.

She gently brushed the dust from the boy's clothes.

"It's okay."

She softly patted his head.

"This wasn't your fault."

"I was the one who asked you to stay."

"So don't blame yourself."

Jemith frowned.

That speed...

I didn't even see her move.

He quickly shook away the thought.

It doesn't matter.

We're twenty people.

Miyuki slowly stood.

Her expression remained perfectly calm.

She looked directly at Jemith.

"I'll give you ten seconds."

"Apologize to Kupo."

"Otherwise..."

"You'll regret it."

Silence.

Then...

The entire gang burst into laughter.

"Hahaha!"

"Did you hear that?"

"She's threatening us!"

"What are you going to do?"

Jemith mocked.

"What happens if I don't apologize?"

Miyuki smiled faintly.

"Your ten seconds are over."

Jemith's face darkened.

"Enough."

He looked toward Ui Jin.

"Break her."

"Now."

"Yes, Boss."

Ui Jin sprinted forward before launching a powerful kick toward Miyuki's head.

Whoosh—

Miyuki casually raised one hand.

GRAB!

She caught his leg effortlessly.

Ui Jin's confident expression froze.

"...What?"

Miyuki sighed.

"You little insects..."

"You actually believed you could defeat me?"

Her fingers tightened.

CRACK!!

A horrifying sound echoed throughout the park.

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!"

Ui Jin screamed.

His leg bent at an unnatural angle.

The bone had shattered completely.

Miyuki released him.

He collapsed onto the ground while clutching his broken leg.

"My leg!"

"My leg!!"

Miyuki looked at him without emotion.

"I only used one percent of my strength."

The park instantly became silent.

Every member of Mystical Oracles stared in disbelief.

Ui Jin—

Their second strongest fighter—

Had been defeated instantly.

Even Jemith couldn't hide his shock.

"...Attack her!"

"All of you!"

More than a dozen gang members rushed toward Miyuki simultaneously.

Punches.

Kicks.

Metal pipes.

Wooden sticks.

None of them landed.

Miyuki disappeared among them like a ghost.

BANG!

CRACK!

THUD!

One after another...

Gang members crashed into trees, benches, and the ground.

Bones broke.

Arms twisted.

Legs snapped.

Within less than a minute...

Every attacker was lying on the ground screaming in agony.

Miyuki slowly adjusted her sleeve.

"...Is that all?"

She looked around.

"I thought you people wanted to do something to me."

She chuckled softly.

"How disappointing."

"I was expecting at least a little entertainment."

Her cold eyes swept across the fallen gang members.

"Remember this."

"The next time you think about harassing a woman..."

"Think twice."

Only one person remained standing.

Uvil Jemith.

His entire body trembled.

Sweat poured down his face.

He had just witnessed his entire gang being defeated without Miyuki receiving even a scratch.

Miyuki slowly walked toward him.

"Now..."

"It's your turn."

She stopped only a few steps away.

"Oh..."

"Your face tells me everything."

"You're terrified."

"Don't worry."

"I'm not going to kill you."

"I'll simply break your arms and legs."

Jemith's legs suddenly became wet.

He had lost control of his bladder.

Miyuki looked down before sighing.

"...How filthy."

"Have you no shame?"

Jemith couldn't even answer.

Fear had completely taken over his body.

Without warning—

BOOM!

Miyuki kicked him square in the chest.

He flew backward and smashed into a large tree before collapsing onto the ground.

Before he could recover...

She grabbed one of his arms.

CRACK!!

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!"

His right arm snapped instantly.

Miyuki released him.

"...Stand up."

Jemith cried while holding his broken arm.

"I..."

"I can't..."

"It hurts..."

Miyuki picked up a heavy stone from the ground.

She tossed it in front of him.

"Break your own leg."

Jemith stared blankly.

"...What?"

"I won't."

Miyuki looked at him expressionlessly.

"...Then I'll kill you."

Jemith's breathing stopped.

He believed her instantly.

To prove her point...

Miyuki walked toward the unconscious Ui Jin.

Without hesitation—

She stomped on his head with her shoe.

BAM!

Ui Jin's head slammed against the ground.

Blood flowed across the grass.

Miyuki looked back at Jemith.

"Your choice."

Jemith grabbed the stone with shaking hands.

Then...

He struck his own leg.

CRACK!

"AAAAAAAHHHHH!!"

Again.

CRACK!

Again.

Until his leg finally broke.

He collapsed while screaming in unbearable pain.

Miyuki sighed.

"...I really don't understand."

"How weak people like you convince yourselves that you can prey on others."

She turned away.

The fight was already over.

Behind her...

Every member of Mystical Oracles lay defeated.

A short distance away...

Kupo stood frozen.

His face had become completely pale.

W-Wait...

Is this really the same Sister Miyuki...?

Mom...

Please save me...

Miyuki walked toward him.

Her expression softened slightly.

"Hey."

"You're safe now."

Kupo flinched.

"It's getting late."

"You should go home."

She smiled.

"Tomorrow."

"Ten in the morning."

"Meet me here again."

"Then you can tell me where Kimmy Leortson lives."

Kupo immediately bowed.

"O-Okay..."

"M-Ma'am..."

Miyuki blinked.

"...Ma'am?"

She laughed quietly.

"You don't need to call me that."

"Just call me Sister Miyuki."

"I won't hurt you."

She gently patted his shoulder.

"Now hurry."

"If the police or too many people see this..."

"It'll create unnecessary trouble for both of us."

Kupo nodded repeatedly.

"I understand!"

Without another word...

He turned around and ran as fast as he could.

Miyuki watched the child disappear into the distance.

Then she looked toward the darkening sky.

"I wonder..."

"Will he really come tomorrow at ten?"

The wind quietly blew through the empty park.

Around her...

Only the painful cries of the defeated gang remained.
