Chapter 14 - Chapter 14 Special Training! Three Heroes Battle Jiang Yi!

  Strange…

Jiang Yi glanced at Gu Yue beside him without showing any emotion.

The three of them huddled together, chatting idly, while Gu Yue sat quietly in the corner.

Over the past few days, he had observed that Gu Yue seemed a little different from the original character.

She didn't seem to have that innate goodwill towards Tang Wuling, and her attitude was even colder than towards them. She would also follow behind Tang Wuling from time to time, secretly thinking about something.

Could it be because that little girl's Golden Dragon King bloodline hadn't been unsealed yet?

Jiang Yi guessed in his heart.

In the original character, Tang Wuling accidentally activated her Golden Dragon King bloodline prematurely because of a fight with Xie Xie.

But now, Xie Xie couldn't put any pressure on her at all.

Jiang Yi shook his head, wondering what would happen later without that initial goodwill.

Time slowly passed amidst their conversation, and soon after, Wu Changkong returned to the classroom.

Behind him was a balding middle-aged male teacher.

  "Teacher!"

The four of them stood up.

  "Hmm!"

  Wu Changkong nodded in response.

"Here, your application for admission is complete."

Wu Changkong turned to Gu Yue and handed her a stack of documents.

"Little girl! Your teacher has gone to great lengths for you. You must cultivate diligently from now on and not slack off!"

The bald male teacher stood to the side, smiling as he gave her his advice.

This was the first time he had ever seen Wu Changkong apologize to someone, especially since that person had previously had their leg broken by him in a fit of anger.

This little girl was clearly highly valued by Wu Changkong.

  "Thank you, teacher!"

Gu Yue nodded emphatically in gratitude, though she didn't know what had happened.

  "Hmm!"

Wu Changkong's expression remained unchanged, showing no sign of anything amiss.

With Gu Yue's talent, even he was moved. If she could be properly nurtured, she would definitely be able to enter Shrek Academy in the future.

He felt ashamed to face his teacher, but sending these kids in might make up for some of his shortcomings.

"From today onwards, you will all train with me individually every night to prepare for the promotion competition in a few months."

Wu Changkong composed himself and turned his gaze to the four people in front of him.

  "Yes!"

The children, already prepared, nodded in unison.

"Next, Teacher Lin will test your mental strength."

Wu Changkong stepped aside, making way for the male teacher beside him; he had just gone to the logistics department to find someone.

With the development of martial souls by soul masters, mental strength has now become a complete system.

The level of mental strength determines a soul master's control over soul skills, especially for elemental martial souls like Gu Yue.

Next, everyone underwent mental strength testing.

"Damn it! How come I'm the lowest again!"

Xie Xie let out a frustrated cry; after the four tests, he was the lowest again.

Tang Wuling had 44, Gu Yue 119, and Jiang Yi was even more astonishing, reaching 432, almost at the Spirit Sea Realm.

He, on the other hand, only had 29, not even a fraction of Jiang Yi's!

  "..."

Wu Changkong also glanced at Jiang Yi in surprise. He wasn't surprised that Jiang Yi's spiritual power had entered the Spirit Connection Realm.

The Spirit Connection Realm was the most basic requirement for fusing with a thousand-year-old soul spirit.

However, he hadn't expected Jiang Yi to be so close to the Spirit Sea Realm.

Even Wu Changkong himself was only at the late stage of the Spirit Sea Realm, still a little short of the Spirit Abyss Realm.

"Ahem! Keep it low-key! Keep it low-key!"

Jiang Yi coughed lightly; in fact, spiritual power was his weakness.

With two soul bones over 100,000 years old, his physical body could easily accommodate a 10,000-year soul ring, but his spiritual power couldn't keep up.

As for the Holy Spirit Cult, he couldn't rely on them at all; spiritual medicines that could enhance spiritual power were priceless and almost impossible for them to obtain.

His 400 spiritual power was entirely due to the accumulated value from his two lifetimes.

After the test, Wu Changkong led the four to the training ground he had specially applied for from the academy.

"No matter what kind of training it is, actual combat is the most important!"

"Next, Xie Xie, Tang Wuling, and Gu Yue, you three will form a group, and Jiang Yi, you will form a group alone. The two groups will spar, and you must give it your all."

"The losing group will stay behind for an extra hour of training!"

Wu Changkong stood in front of the four and made the arrangements.

He didn't rush to personally train them; sparring between evenly matched peers would expose their weaknesses.

  "Yes!"

The four all straightened up and answered in unison.

Wu Changkong's extra training meant they would undoubtedly get beaten up one-sidedly.

Then, the four quickly split into two groups. Xie Xie and the other two stood together, while Jiang Yi stood alone on one side.

"Hehe! Jiang Yi, just wait and see, you're going to get a beating!"

Xie Xie rubbed his hands together, his light and dark daggers appearing in his hands, his face showing eagerness.

They couldn't possibly lose a three-on-one fight, could they?

  "..."

Jiang Yi rolled his eyes helplessly; this kid was asking for trouble again.

Gu Yue and the other two weren't as impulsive as Xie Xie; they simply silently summoned their martial souls.

Gu Yue's aura shifted, becoming as dark as an abyss, and a yellow soul ring rose from her body.

On the other side, Tang Wuling held a pair of enormous, heavy silver hammers.

The hammers, each half a person's height, created a strange contrast with her slender figure.

  "Wait, listen to my instructions!"

Xie Xie suddenly rolled his eyes, leaned close to the two women, and began to whisper their plans.

"Jiang Yi's second soul skill, that shield can grant immunity to control. Gu Yue, stop using wind and earth elements to pull him away, just blast him with fireballs!"

"And Little Rabbit, can't you teleport? Just stick close and fight him hand-to-hand. Jiang Yi's halberd gets bigger and slower, not suitable for close combat, just crush him."

In just a few words, Xie Xie had revealed all of Jiang Yi's secrets.

Xie Xie had sparred with Jiang Yi a lot in private, and was extremely familiar with his soul skills.

  "Okay!"

Gu Yue and Tang Wuling exchanged a glance and nodded.

They were indeed no match for Jiang Yi individually, but losing in a three-on-one fight would be unacceptable.

  "Begin!"

Before Wu Changkong finished speaking, he had already gracefully retreated to the sidelines.

"Let's go side by side and take him down!"

Xie Xie shouted and charged towards Jiang Yi, looking exactly like a husky that had broken free of its reins.

Jiang Yi, watching Xie Xie charge towards him with a roar, remained calm. His halberd suddenly enlarged, the wind whistling as he swept across a ten-meter radius, forcing Xie Xie back.

However, as Xie Xie leaped backward, he laughed loudly.

"Jiang Yi, you've fallen for it!"

As his laughter subsided, a slender figure suddenly appeared above Jiang Yi's head.

Tang Wuling had teleported into the air, her heavy silver hammer whistling as it crashed down.

  "Hmm?"

Jiang Yi frowned slightly, but remained composed. His halberd gleamed, quickly returning to its normal size, and he swung it horizontally, precisely meeting the descending hammer.

But at that moment, a series of whooshing sounds rang out—whoosh! whoosh! whoosh!

In the distance, Gu Yue flicked her fingers, conjuring three blazing fireballs that shot out in a triangular formation, blocking all of Jiang Yi's escape routes.

The fireballs streaked through the air, creating waves of heat, and the temperature on the training ground suddenly rose.

A giant hammer fell from above, and a fireball hurtled towards them!

Although it was the first time the three had worked together, their teamwork was impeccable, and Jiang Yi was immediately put on the defensive.
