Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 Wu Changkong: You Choose One?

  Aolai City, Police Station.

A taxi pulled up smoothly at the entrance, the door opened, and a boy of about ten years old stepped out.

  "Thank you, driver!"

Jiang Yi paid the fare and turned to walk quickly towards the police station.

Although Wu Changkong hadn't explained the reason on the phone, Aolai City knew immediately that Tang Wuling was in trouble.

  "Hello! I'd like to ask..."

Jiang Yi walked into the police station lobby, looked around but didn't see Wu Changkong, so he went to the front desk to ask.

  "He's in the interrogation room."

The receptionist pointed to a room in the corner.

  "Thank you!"

Jiang Yi nodded and turned to walk over there.

As soon as Jiang Yi pushed open the door to the interrogation room, he saw Wu Changkong coming to greet him.

He was dressed in white as always, but his cold face was more serious than usual.

  "You've come!"

Wu Changkong's voice was still cold, but it had a hint of softening.

  "Teacher!"

Jiang Yi nodded in greeting, his gaze passing over Wu Changkong and landing on the blonde girl curled up in the chair.

Tang Wuling was hugging her knees, burying her face in her arms, seemingly devoid of any soul, not even noticing his arrival.

  "Teacher, what happened?"

Jiang Yi asked in a low voice, his gaze fixed on Tang Wuling.

"A murder has occurred, but I'll handle it! Go check on her first,"

Wu Changkong explained briefly, his gaze also falling on Tang Wuling.

He had received a call from the academic affairs office this morning and rushed over immediately.

However, by the time he arrived, Tang Wuling was already in a withdrawn state. How could he possibly comfort her?

Back in the day with Long Bing, she was the one being flirted with…and she couldn't contact Tang Wuling's parents, so Wu Changkong thought of calling Jiang Yi.

Among the students in Class 5, Jiang Yi was the only one who was close to Tang Wuling.

  "Understood!"

  Jiang Yi nodded knowingly.

Wu Changkong was about to follow him inside when his communicator suddenly lit up.

He took out his communicator, saw the familiar caller ID, and his brows relaxed slightly.

"Little Changkong! I found what you wanted. That guy really deserves to die..."

After answering, a slightly teasing voice sounded from the other end of the communicator, but it turned cold towards the end, as if suppressing his anger.

  "Okay! Thank you!"

Wu Changkong nodded, thanking the person on the other end.

"It's nothing! We've done a service to the people."

The man's voice on the communicator paused, then changed the subject,

"However, if you're truly grateful, please be sure to introduce that little girl to our Tang Sect."

Upon hearing this, Wu Changkong raised an eyebrow slightly. This unserious guy actually had such a high opinion of Tang Wuling?

In his memory, among the four, Tang Wuling had the worst talent; her only advantages were diligence and a slightly special advantage in her soul skill.

"Haha! You might find this a bit strange, but you'll understand once you see the video I sent you."

"Alright! Little Changkong, remember to come over and sit down sometime. I have something to do, so I'll hang up now."

A man's laughter came through the communicator, and then he hung up.

Not long after, Wu Changkong received a video and a file from the man.

  "This is..."

Wu Changkong opened the video, which showed Tang Wuling's actions that morning.

He looked at Tang Wuling's rampaging, tyrannical figure and a look of surprise on his face.

Is this the same shy little girl as before?

Bloodline evolution? Or martial soul mutation?

Wu Changkong pondered, but he quickly suppressed these doubts and turned to look at the other file. Now was not the time to think about these things.

  "Hmph! He deserves to die!"

Wu Changkong quickly glanced through it, and a rare hint of anger appeared on his usually cold face.

The bald man who died had been executed a year ago for raping and murdering multiple underage girls.

  Now look what's happened... Heh!

Wu Changkong sneered and turned to walk towards the director's office.

The bureau chief was the man's uncle; no wonder he hadn't been allowed to see the crime scene footage before—they were in cahoots.

  "What is it?"

Inside the office, a portly middle-aged man, hearing the voice, looked up, his expression unfriendly.

Who was so blind as to enter the leader's office without knocking?

But then, seeing it was Wu Changkong, the middle-aged man snorted coldly, his face displaying a righteous indignation.

"Hmph! No need for further explanation, a life for a life! Federal law cannot be trampled upon!"

A hint of resentment flashed in his eyes; his sister only had one son, and now he was gone! How dare a mere commoner?

No matter what, he would make the other party pay today!

  "Hmph!"

Wu Changkong snorted coldly, too lazy to waste words, and slammed the communicator onto the table.

Then, an icy blue light appeared on his body, transforming into an icy blue armor, its terrifying aura instantly enveloping the entire office.

  Two-word Battle Armor, Heavenly Ice!

  "Battle...Battle Armor Master?"

The middle-aged man trembled, saying in disbelief.

Looking at the six spirit rings on Wu Changkong's body, the man trembled slightly, especially at the blue battle armor he wore, which terrified him.

A six-ring Spirit Emperor! A Battle Armor Master!

That damned thing had really brought him a lot of trouble.

  "Choose one?"

Wu Changkong held the Heavenly Frost Sword, his gaze cold and stern, and said coldly to the terrified middle-aged man.

Release him? Or make a scene?

  ...

  Meanwhile, in the interrogation room.

  "Tang Wuling?

Jiang Yi sat down beside the girl and called softly.

On his forehead, a golden mark that no one noticed lit up slightly, emitting a warm and gentle aura.

As a direct descendant of the Sea God, Tang WuLing had a natural affinity for this aura.

Sure enough, under the influence of this gentle aura, a glimmer of light gradually appeared in Tang WuLing's empty eyes.

  "Jiang Yi!"

Tang WuLing looked up, saw the familiar figure, and suddenly threw herself into his arms, her voice trembling with tears.

The girl buried her face in his chest, greedily inhaling his reassuring breath, her trembling body slowly calming down.

"It's alright! It's all over now."

Although Jiang Yi didn't know what Tang Wuling had gone through, he still gently comforted her, patting her back lightly.

"Waaah! Mommy and Daddy don't want me anymore..."

The girl buried her face in Jiang Yi's chest, tears streaming down her face. Her anxious heart seemed to have found solace, pouring out all her grievances.

Jiang Yi held the girl, listening quietly, and gradually understood the cause and effect of the matter.

Tang Wuling hadn't gone to visit Mang Tian first, so she hadn't received news of her parents' departure.

The nine-year-old girl, returning home full of joy, was suddenly met with the devastating news of her parents' disappearance; naturally, she couldn't accept it.

"How could that be? Your aunt and uncle probably just had something to do and didn't have time to tell you."

Jiang Yi gently comforted her, reaching out to gently wipe away the tears on her face.

  "Really?"

Tang Wuling raised her swollen eyes, her voice carrying a last glimmer of hope.

"Of course it's true." Jiang Yi smiled warmly. "Wuling is so cute, how could your aunt and uncle bear to leave you?"

  "No way..."

A blush crept onto the girl's pale face as she buried her head in his arms again.

This embrace seemed to have a magical power, giving her a complete sense of security, making her very reluctant to leave.

Jiang Yi, of course, was unaware of the girl's thoughts, and continued,

"Do your aunt and uncle have any particularly good friends? Perhaps they might leave some information for you there?"

Tang Wuling's face showed a thoughtful expression upon hearing this. After releasing the emotions that had been building up inside her, she calmed down considerably.

"If they do... it must be with Teacher Mangtian!"
