Chapter 49 - Chapter 3

I had to stop writing because that got me in a bad mood. My dad was crying and told me I could skip school but I decided not to. Honestly, I knew she was going to die someday and anytime I looked into an alternate timeline, I would always 99% of the time see her dead.

The school is a very basic name, Mayflower Academy. Yeah, honestly, you'd think they'd get creative but I guess it isn't worth making up a creative name because the school is already good. It has a square format and is 4 stories high with a rooftop. With that, it has a courtyard that is like ¼ or ⅕ of the main area of the school or something?

Anyway, as I walk, I look around at my potential classmates. Man, I really hope I get good ones, not some weirdos. Around I see people of different shapes and sizes, like ones with cloudy hair and others who are half human; it's like I'm in a fairy tale.

Writing this to an alternate timeline with normal people years ago in the late 1800s, when these cards started showing up people went crazy with their power creating different species and perks that should've never existed. Luckily I didn't get any of those weird perks and I say weird because some perks can just ruin your life.

"Hey wait." I turn around to see a dark-skinned boy with a shaved black head. "Who are you?" "You know the boy you saved with your spirit? That was me."

Now I wish I didn't, because he is one of those losers who call themselves spirits. Lame.

"Could I see it again? Also thanks for saving me." I should walk away but it's important to make friends first, then get better friends. "Alright sure but let me show you at the back of the school at lunch." I say, I don't even know if we can even access the back of the school! And I'm not risking getting suspended to show some kid my legendary.

He nods and tells me his name before walking away; his name is Ryan. I walk inside and the first thing you see is the front office and the trophies the school has earned which is a lot, not counting the participation trophies, which is only one.

From there, you can go from one of two hallways that lead to lockers where you can store your stuff. I look at my locker, which is *my* locker. 489. So it's on the 4th floor… Just my luck! I sigh while I tread up the stairs to the designated floor and spend 10 hours trying to open my locker. After, I put down my backpack and bring out my notebooks and other essentials for my school life.

I enter my first class, which is algebra. I am in the back row in the middle and looking around, I got lucky. I'm sitting with boys who look normal and probably share my interest but I'm also in the same row as Ryan. He's not right next to me but I can tell that he is going to bug me during lunch.

Our teacher is an I am not joking on this one! I swear to God that this is our actual teacher name and I'm saying this because it sounds like I made it up and I'm fictional but this is all real, I promise!

Dr. Valgin.

Jesus Christ, I don't think I could name a better name than that.

Alright, let me skip forward before I get pissed off; nothing else really happened and that's the same for the future periods and during lunch this is what happened:

I'm walking to the cafeteria and I am cautious to not run into Ryan. I spot him turn a corner and I freeze, wondering if I should make a move or not, just for him to turn back and notice me so I just accept my fate and show him my legend at the back of the school, praying not to get caught.

"Yo, this shit is nice." He said, and I smirked from the compliment, "You know the rarest thing I have is some massive polar bear." "Yeah, I guess that wasn't strong enough to defeat those two monsters that girl had on her."

His face starts to turn sour, and he sighs. "Yeah, you see, that bear I mentioned was borrowed. And I had to give something back to her to repay her but I didn't have it so she beat my ass. That polar bear didn't do anything." I start to feel a little bad; that girl could come back any second and kill him for sure. So I decide I will make a promise. "Don't worry; I can fight her for you to keep your monster and shit." He lights up and shakes my hand. I can see his gratitude.

After, I chat with him near the school. The sun is at it's sunset and golden light shines through the window. I learned a lot, and deadass, drop what I said about leaving him; we're practically the same. We both play Call of Duty the same way except he uses an actual sniper and also can relate to each other.

Then I hear a voice I turn around and it's some 9-year-old brunette with terrible clothing. Like, who the hell wears a purple shirt and blue shorts? This girl who beat up Ryan has been getting on my nerves for no reason! I turn to talk to Ryan but he looks so scared I'd think he'd shit himself.

"It's her." I know I promised to protect him and I am his friend but I couldn't help but hold my laughter while snickering, "You're fucking with me, man." "Hey! Why not go back to your mommy? " I say. I don't actually say that but it's a child; it's ok, they probably won't even remember me.

She looks at me with anger and walks away; nothing bad happened.
