The road was boring for most of it. He was mostly the only car on the road, yet he drove fearlessly as though he were never prone to attack. Security stopped him a few times, and he simply showed them a government-issued card and they let him pass through. The music was soothing to him, and he sang along. It was more than enough to keep him from thinking about anything that would ruin his mood.
Did he get sleepy at some point? Yes, he did. At four a.m., Van parked his car in front of a twenty-four-hour pharmacy, reclined his seat farther back, and took a two-hour nap before continuing his journey a little past six. Needless to say, he missed doing this. Ever since he expanded and became who he now was, he had never had the chance to go on road trips.
