"You should go take a shower, I have clothes but I don't think I'm the right size for you"
Inko looked at Subaru with a frown as he rubbed his head.
"There are no problems ma'am, Subaru can wear the same clothes" says Rio with a sweet smile.
Inko was offended.
"Don't talk nonsense! You need clean clothes, I'll manage," said the plump woman with a determined expression.
"thank you ma'am," Rio said as Subaru nodded with a serene smile.
"Call me Inko"
A silence set in. Inko didn't know if it was light or heavy. The two teenagers watched him with great gratitude. Silence reigned.....
Several seconds....
Inko finally broke it, her hands were surprisingly sweaty. Why?
They showered and dined. Inko asked them questions about their lives. They replied that they were quirkless and that they were abandoned.
Inko immediately remembered izuku and she stopped eating. There was meat in the dishes and Subaru devoured with appetite. Like an animal....
Inko remembered the cat and the rat in spite of herself and a shiver squeezed her intestines.
The sounds of spoons and forks echoed through the house. Chewing noises too....
"My son Izuku was also Quirkless, but he recently awakened an Quirk and he wants to become a hero in UA," Inko says with a proud smile.
Rio was looking at the family photo on the wall. A green-haired boy with Inko and another man.
"Does your husband live with you?" asked Rio in a soft voice.
"No.... He works in the United States," Inko explained with a sweet smile as she remembered the man of her life.
Rio smiled at her, a bright smile that seemed to be sparse with dark circles under his eyes.
Subaru grunted and Rio put gentle pressure on his arm, which calmed the colossus.
Inko did not understand this reaction. She had learned that Subaru was mute but his reactions were...
"I'm going to clear the table" Rio said as Subaru approached inko.
"Subaru, do you want to help me?" asked his brother.
For Inko it was not an order. it was an injunction.
Subaru helped his brother. Inko watched them. Silence had returned. Inko could only hear the sounds of the plates being cleared.
The lamp above them cast their shadows.
Silence. Silence had returned. The plates were cleared. Rio and Subaru sat and smiled at Inko.
Inko smiled at them too.
