I stood still as the car carrying Eliana drove away from the warehouse. The tires crushed the gravel softly, fading into the distance until only dust remained in the air.
For a moment, I didn't move. My eyes stayed fixed on the direction she left, even though the road was already empty.
She was angry and still shaking. I exhaled slowly through my nose.
That slap replayed in my mind again.
It was sharp, sudden and unforgivable but yet I didn't react the way I should have and now that I think of it, it annoyed me more than her hand ever could.
I turned slightly toward my men. "Take her back to the mansion," I had already instructed earlier. "Lock her in her room. No movement. No wandering. No access to anyone."
A pause.
Then I added coldly, "She's not to leave until I say so."
One of them hesitated slightly. "And Kael?"
I didn't even look at him. "She cares about him, let him remain jsiled. I'll deal with him when I return"
