Guang Xi slipped off her coat, rose from her seat, and stepped in front of the four Fiends, shielding them. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she spoke in a flat tone.
"So it's you. It's been a while."
Kishibe glanced at the police officers' bodies scattered across the floor and gave a dry smile.
"You just got to Japan and this is the welcome you give me?"
Click.
Guang Xi lit a cigarette.
"Kishibe, take your people and leave. I'm in Japan on vacation with the girls. I don't feel like slaughtering you all right now. I just ate, and that would ruin it."
"Oi, oi!" Susugi Misato frowned, clearly annoyed. "You talk big. Think you can actually back that up?"
Pingtsi looked at the group opposite them with irritation.
"Lord Guang Xi, you know this poker-faced old man?"
Guang Xi nodded.
"Mad Dog Kishibe. Decades ago, I trained in Japan and worked as a Devil Hunter for about ten years. He was my partner back then."
Hearing that, the blonde woman in sunglasses, Beatrice, the Whip Weapon Human, rubbed her chin with interest.
"Decades ago? Kishibe, does that mean she's older than me?"
Kishibe scratched his neck and pulled out an unopened bottle of sake.
"Guang Xi was the first Devil Hunter. No one knows her exact age, but she's probably older than a few of you combined."
He tossed the bottle to her.
"I remember you liked this when you ate sushi and sashimi. Brought it for you."
Clap.
Guang Xi caught it smoothly.
Just as she was about to drink, Pingtsi pressed her hand down.
"Lord Guang Xi, let me check it for poison first."
"Fine."
A few seconds later, Pingtsi relaxed.
"It's clean. You can drink it safely."
She then looked at Kishibe with open disdain.
"So you're the old simp who chased Lord Guang Xi for nine years. That's just sad."
Guang Xi didn't react. It wasn't wrong.
She opened the bottle and drank it down in one go.
"Hmm. Same taste. Strong rice and fruit aroma… just like before."
She glanced at Kishibe.
"Look at you. You've got one foot in the grave already. Why are you still working? Japan's pension system that bad?"
Kishibe scratched his head.
"Yeah, pensions aren't reliable. But I saved enough to waste away comfortably. Drinking, chasing women… all better than work. Still doing this job is probably just to avoid Alzheimer's."
"Alzheimer's?" Guang Xi raised a brow. "I know how to avoid that. Stay current. Keep up with trends."
"Really?" Kishibe rubbed his cheek. "Too late for me. I like old music and old shows."
Guang Xi shook her head.
"That's not enough. You need to watch the news."
She paused, her thoughts drifting.
"Speaking of news… last year, I liked a morning news anchor from X. Perfect shoulder-length hair, flawless face, completely symmetrical. Beautiful, and her voice was sweet. Exactly my type."
Kishibe listened quietly.
"I watched her every day. Bought everything related to her."
She exhaled slowly.
"Then one day, people found out she lied about her age. Paparazzi dug up rumors, messy relationships, all kinds of dirt. Still, she kept hosting like nothing happened."
She sighed.
"I stopped watching. Didn't care what was true or false. That's when I realized… she didn't change."
Guang Xi tapped her temple.
"I did. Once you start disliking something, you can't go back."
Kishibe frowned slightly.
"I don't get what you're trying to say."
Guang Xi tossed him a pack of cigarettes.
"I'm saying it's rare to stay blissfully ignorant. You should retire and let your brain rot. Being stupid makes life easier. Knowing too much just screws you over."
Kishibe didn't get angry. That was just how she was.
For a moment, it felt like decades ago again.
He wiped the corners of his eyes, opened the cigarette pack, and handed one to Ito Kento, Edo Guang, Susugi Misato, and Beatrice, lighting them all.
"Smoking alone is selfish. Smoking together is teamwork. Finish this, then we move."
He exhaled.
"Try to take them alive. If they die, it is what it is."
The Weapon Humans grinned.
They inhaled deeply, burning their cigarettes down in a single breath.
Edo Guang revealed a blade from his left hand.
Susugi Misato drew a sword from his right.
Ito Kento lowered his head, a black rod emerging from his neck. He reached back, grabbed it, and pulled it free from his spine.
Beatrice removed her sunglasses and snapped her fingers.
In an instant, all four transformed.
The Katana Devil and Longsword Devil stood ready.
The Whip Weapon Human's head resembled a locust, with hundreds of flexible whip-like arms extending and retracting at will.
The Spear Weapon Human formed a triangular head and summoned a massive javelin, aiming straight at Guang Xi.
1Pingtsi's expression tightened.
"Lord Guang Xi, be careful. These guys aren't weak."
Guang Xi leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.
"It's fine. They're all trash."
Her voice dropped slightly.
"For you, I'll become a demon."
"Shut up, you damn poser!" Susugi Misato snapped.
He turned into a streak of sword light and charged.
Crack!
The whips tore through the air.
Whoosh!
The javelin launched forward with violent force, distorting the air around it.
Blades, whips, and spear attacks surged at once.
Guang Xi inhaled slowly, her fingers resting on the hilt of her sword.
Then she vanished.
Not disappeared. Just too fast to follow.
A flash.
A metallic clash.
Blood sprayed.
In the blink of an eye, it was over.
Guang Xi flicked the blood off her blade and sheathed it.
Two seconds.
That was all it took.
Each Weapon Human had been cut over a hundred times.
The floor was covered in their remains.
Kishibe exhaled.
He expected a gap between them.
He even planned to overwhelm her with numbers.
He didn't expect the difference to be this absurd.
They couldn't even force her into her transformed state.
Kishibe raised both hands.
"I surrender. We're leaving."
He turned away.
"Enjoy your trip in Japan."
