The Fox Gang did not fear easily...they had been built on blood, sharpened through survival, and conditioned to function even in chaos, but what was happening now was not chaos in the way they understood it. It was something different, something far more disturbing, because it did not announce itself before it struck. It simply happened, clean and precise, leaving behind confusion instead of noise and even though as literal killers nothing should be surprising anymore...but this one still put an confused fear in them.
Men were disappearing.
Not just recruits or low-level runners, but trained fighters, team leaders, entire units that had no business vanishing without a trace. Some were found, but even that offered no comfort, because when they were found, it was always too clean. No struggle, no signs of resistance, no warning. Just bodies placed like someone was trying to make a statement. no one could fully read.
